Political Theft

S.B. Waters is the semi-retired President and Publisher of the Rome Sentinel of Rome, New York.  Ownership of the Sentinel has been in the Waters family for over six generations.  Waters is also a regular commenter at JustOneMinute where he contributes, among other things, his first person insights into the nature of the dishonesty that has become so prevalent in corporate media.  Yesterday he touched on it in a Sentinel editorial.

Corporate media dutifully reported House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Articles of Impeachment accusing President Donald Trump of “willfully inciting violence against the Government of the United States” with a speech to supporters “that encouraged — and foreseeably resulted in — imminent lawless action at the Capitol.”

Most left out that he said, “We’re going to walk down to the Capitol and we’re going to cheer on our brave Senators and Congressmen and women...” and, “ I know that everyone here will soon be marching over to the Capitol building to peacefully and patriotically make your voices heard.”

The Associated Press spun a narrative too easy to misconstrue: “... the House sped to a vote just a week after he encouraged loyalists to “fight like hell” against election results and then a mob of his supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol. AP’s copy needs re-crafting for clarity and completeness.

We who comment and lurk at JOM get the benefit of his insights as he will sometimes describe specific corrections and clarifications he makes to AP stories the Sentinel picks up for publication.  Waters concluded his editorial on an optimistic note:

Whatever his imperfections, Donald Trump revealed to the next generation of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents 1) how elites of both parties desperately collaborate to retain their control and 2) what a brazen, selfish, double-dealing cesspool Washington has become.

Be peaceful. Be patient. Be resilient. The impeachment they righteously postured planted the seeds of their own collapse.

I agree, although I'm what you might call a cynical optimist.  At the moment what Donald Trump has revealed about the swamp – the sheer extent of it – has my cynical side in the ascendant.

Foot Soldiers For The Great Reset

Libertarian Leanings - Tue, 2021-01-19 19:22 +0000

Victory Girls report: Propaganda Machine Goes On Five Day Rampage.

Hollywood and the media have come together to formulate a five-day long propaganda “unity” event to welcome the Biden’s into the White House this week. After inciting violence and division for months, the Democrats now want “America United”.

Victory Girls think the "America United" theme is offered as a challenge.  Anyone daring to refuse the Biden proffered olive branch, to suggest we are not united, will suffer consequences.

This is the man Hollywood, big media and big tech think will unite America? No wonder the big show. No wonder the glitz and glamor. They have to dress up this package and hype it. They have to ram it down our throats. They have to keep punching at it, punching at it and punching at it.

Naturally, the America United gala comes to us with a sound track.

To add to the propaganda of the week, there is even a curated playlist of 46 (wink, wink) songs that you can “dance the night away” to on Inauguration Day. On this list? I will bring you a fair warning that you may vomit in your mouth a bit. Songs like “Come Together”, “Pick Up The Pieces”, “We Take Care Of Our Own”, “You Make My Dreams Come True”, “Fool In The Rain” (should be “Fool On The Hill”), “Whatta Man” Is that politically correct enough for the woke-est of wokedom? Sadly, “Despacito” did not make the cut.

[Parties are] okay as long as you’re wearing your mask and dancing in taped-off circles, 6 feet apart from others on the dance floor. This from the playlist, “Destiny” by Burna Boy:

You don know, man, I gots it tough
Man, I slice up your head like a barber does
No, you no really really wan’ start with us
‘Cause we dangerous and hazardous
Skrr, beep beep when I’m parking up
California weed, man are sparking up
Man no send me of the means, them charging up
‘Cause we never smile when them try laugh with us
As a little youth it was hard enough
‘Cause da older guys them were starving us
So me hustle ’til me start live marvellous
Roll deep like I’m driving a party bus
We was just a bunch of f#ckin’ foreigners
No one to trust, I know that they don’t want me here
Came a long way from standing in the corridors
Dunking feds in the coroners, hey!-Destiny, Burna Boy

Something struck me as I read Burna Boy's lyrics. "As a little youth it was hard enough 'cause da older guys them were starving us."  I had always thought of inner city poverty and dysfunction as collateral damage, the unintended consequences of Democrat corruption.  Well, scratch the unintended part.  I no longer think the consequences from generations of Democrat inner city corruption are unintended.  Maybe things started out that way, but now I sense purpose.

Through their control over education Democrats have turned out foot soldiers by the thousands for the revolution they hope will bring is closer to the globalist dream of a worldwide economic reset.  Dysfunctional inner city schools and university indoctrination centers produce the BLM and Antifa activists we saw in action all last year, rioting and looting on the pretext of the supposed systemic racism of America's police.

On the flip side of that coin is what seems to me to be a globalist campaign (that's also been going on for a decade or more) to sell America on the idea that our most dangerous terrorists are white supremacists. Wasn't it Janet Napolitano's DHS that said back in the early Obama years, that America's next big terror threat would come from American military veterans returning from Iraq. Patriotic? Believe in the Constitution? The Second Amendment? You are a threat. Multiracial whiteness is now a thing, can you believe.

2020 was a roaring success for the left. They fixed an election, and by doing that they've likely ended any criminal exposure of a lot of people for their activities against Trump for the last five years – like the DOJ and FBI officials for their illegal spying.  And let's not forget the Bidens and others for their corruption in Ukraine.  2021 will be a year of relative calm as Democrats breathe a sigh of relief and put on a show of "America United."  About the time the 2022 midterm election campaigns ramp up they'll have dumped the America United theme, and then the BLM and Antifa foot soldiers will once again hit the streets.  Riots and looting will seek to focus America's attention on the injustice du jour, away from the coming election theft.  The Great Reset might not survive a midterm red wave, so why take a chance.  Who's going to complain?

My Two Favorite Football Teams

Libertarian Leanings - Tue, 2021-01-12 05:09 +0000

When asked, I always say my two favorite football teams are the New York Giants and whoever is playing the New England Patriots.

Bill Belichick, what a weasel.

“Recently, I was offered the opportunity to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, which I was flattered by out of respect for what the honor represents and admiration for prior recipients,” the Patriots’ head coach said in a statement. “Subsequently, the tragic events of last week occurred and the decision has been made not to move forward with the award.

“Above all, I am an American citizen with great reverence for our nation’s values, freedom and democracy. I know I also represent my family and the New England Patriots team.

Note the weaselly passive voice: "the decision has been made."  What a great friend.

Belichick, who has previously spoken publicly about his friendship with the president, was set to receive the nation’s highest civilian honor after Trump offered it over a week ago.

Now my two favorite football teams are, first and foremost, whoever is playing the Patriots and, second, the New York Giants.

2020 Perspective from Australia:

2020: The Year That Was

"Then there is the deliberate and immoral inflation of death numbers. We all know the story of the folks gunned to death who were counted as 'Covid'. If you have a positive test – not itself remotely proof of infection – then die within twenty-eight days (in the UK), well, you died from Covid. Even if, having generated a false positive result, you didn’t actually have it. Or if you had it but it didn’t cause you to die."

According to US critic Heather MacDonald:

When California State University, Long Beach, a campus of 37,000 students, shuts down because five students tested positive for the virus, we are in the realm of hysteria. When the New York Times portrays a 101-year-old military veteran as a coronavirus fatality, as opposed to someone who died of old age; when the Milwaukee coroner does the same for the death of an 89-year-old male with dementia, hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, and chronic renal failure, you know that the media and public-health establishments are looking for any excuse to inflate the death numbers.

Inflating death counts has had its purpose for the Covid State. As has failing to report more relevant data. Like how many positive testees were actually sick. In hospital. At risk of passing the virus on to others. Dying. Nary a word on these.

The Covid State’s strategy has been to tell noble lies and enforce compliance by spreading fear.

It's worth reading the whole thing.

My review of The Most Dangerous Superstition

Daily Paul - Sun, 2015-04-12 00:02 +0000

I'm very proud to have written the most-upvoted review of Larken Rose's great book, The Most Dangerous Superstition. Somehow or other, I never got around to posting the review on the Daily Paul. So here it is, my last words on my late-great favorite website:

Little children learn morality from their parents: things are good or bad because Mommy and Daddy SAID so. A little later, they may be taught that things are good or bad because God SAID so, in some Holy Book. And still later, when they are taught "civics" in government schools, they will be taught that things are good or bad because "It's the law." (And it's GOOD to obey the law, BAD to break it.") But "the law" is just whatever politicians SAY it is.

A person becomes an adult when he outgrows the need to be given moral commandments from people he thinks of as "authorities," and learns to judge for himself what is right or wrong. This is a book to read to discover just how adult YOU really are. The book as a whole is a litmus test that will show whether the reader is an adult with independent judgment, or still a child, believing every fantasy and superstition that the "authorities" in his life have told him to believe.

My Last Post To The Daily Paul Forces… To all who love Truth & Constitution, to all those patriots like my friend…

Daily Paul - Sat, 2015-04-11 23:29 +0000

... the greatest Congressman in history, Dr. Paul!

It is to those who have lived, and to those who now live and plan to die, in the cause of Life, Liberty, Property, and the Rule of Law, I write:

It is time to speak briefly but solemnly, on behalf of the accomplishments of Dr. NO, and to help encourage a setting of the record straight, from one ‘friend of the family’ perspective.

Bring to mind once again this picture. You have all seen it!

She was a good vessel, and we'll always love her, but the new ship is really streamlined and comfy! I think we're gonna have some fun at Popular Liberty.

The very best of Crabacado & goodbye Dale Lee Paul

Daily Paul - Sat, 2015-04-11 08:01 +0000

I'm a late bloomer to defining liberty. I was always a true core libertarian, I never knew how to define it....until Ron Paul.

I'd completely missed the 2008 election due to private issues, never even heard of Ron Paul.

In late 2011, I watched the first 3 GOP Primary debates and discovered Ron Paul. His message resonated with me on a scale I'd never experienced before. A day later, I found the Daily Paul.

In Closing Let Me Say That I Love Dr. Ron Paul As a Man of Peace and Principles

Daily Paul - Sat, 2015-04-11 04:40 +0000

...and he really did cure my apathy in politics.

I did not vote in a presidential election for 32 years until Congressman Paul ran in 2008.

In addition to curing my apathy, Dr. Paul's candidacy put me on a road to learning which no average university political science or college program could have taught me.

I'm sad to see this site go away and I fear that many who are here will be lost even though a new site is scheduled to replace the DailyPaul.

My last post on dailypaul, I am going to war with Rand Paul, I will stand by his side

Daily Paul - Sat, 2015-04-11 03:46 +0000

That is it, but I will see you all on of course. No politician can change this country, it is up to you and I, but I am seeing new people coming to the liberty message through Rand Paul. I am feeling that same fire once again. He isn't perfect, and neither are we, but I am jumping on the train and will choose to stand with him with no intentions of outcome, but moreso to educate people like we have been doing. People are ready to hear the message, Rand Paul is the newest vessel at this point.

On this sad day, I am reflecting on many moments that I have experienced in my time with the DailyPaul.
