NH State Rep Carol McGuire – Your State House 09/23/22: Mike Yakubovich and Legislative Work

Granite Grok - Wed, 2022-09-28 18:00 +0000

Representative Michael Yakubovich has dropped out of the state Senate race, due to medical problems that need his full attention. Please pray for him and his family in this stressful time.

Michael has been replaced as a candidate for the state senate by my friend Keith Murphy, a former representative who now lives in Manchester Ward 1, in the district. I support Keith’s election and am glad to talk with any of you about him.

My committee met this week to hear a presentation from the NH Retirement System on how they’re implementing SB 363, which allows Group II employees (police, fire, and corrections) to buy additional service credit if they are among those not vested in 2011 when the retirement system changed the minimum retirement date. This would let them retire at a younger age and/or receive a higher pension. The bill requires them to pay the full cost, which turned out to be higher than many of them had anticipated. Still, 137 people (of 1824 eligible) have applied for the buyback since the change went into law on August 6.

We want to thank NH State Rep Carol McGuire for this Op-Ed. If you have an Op-Ed or LTE
you would like us to consider, please submit it to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.

The committee also voted on some of the bills we held for interim study. HB 1429, requiring massage establishments to be licensed (in addition to the actual therapists) was the most contentious: it was recommended for further legislation 8-5, and one member has already submitted a bill to license them. The opposition, including me, believes that this is a local problem, and strongly prefers that towns have the authority to enforce their health and safety ordinances.

My HB 1191, allowing unlicensed owners to do plumbing, electrical, and gas work in duplexes as well as single-family homes, was recommended to not have further legislation because the bill as written is too simplistic, and resetting the exemptions is too complex to handle accurately in a short time period. So we recommended no further legislation, 11-2. HB 1061, on the midwifery board, was unanimously recommended for legislation to restructure the board.

HB 1395, which required the legislature to affirmatively approve all administrative rules (instead of objecting to some of them, and letting the rest go into effect) was recommended for no further legislation. I had thought to use this bill to consider some changes to JLCAR, the joint legislative committee on administrative rules, but decided to try some of them out before making a law change. (unless something surprising happens, I expect to be chair of JLCAR next session, and will be able to try out some changes.)

I’ve been appointed to two study committees this fall: one looking into the operation of the OPLC (office of professional licensure and certification), and the other into updating the state building code. The OPLC study is particularly looking into licensing fees and cost allocations since a licensing fee is intended to simply cover the cost of regulating the profession. If it is too high, it becomes an unfair tax; if too low, the licensing operation is subsidized by other taxpayers. The rule of thumb is that expected fees should total 100-125% of the projected costs, with an allowance for estimating errors and unanticipated costs. The various boards within the OPLC range from 32% to 378% of costs, based on the current allocation formula for shared costs: this is not acceptable and needs to be fixed. Of course, we will also be looking at the allocation formula!

The committee on building code updates hasn’t met yet. Another committee, created by my HB 1398, is studying criminal record checks in education, with the hope of eliminating the need for redundant reports.

America Is a Lot More like Venezuela than You Thought

Granite Grok - Wed, 2022-09-28 16:30 +0000

In true Marxist fashion, the People’s Republic of Venezuela (dba: Venezuela) has a food security problem. The connected political elite are eating like kings while the poor (everyone else) starve. The “cure” for this ailment may sound familiar.

Doctors are discouraged from declaring starvation as a cause of death.

No records, no official problem, and if anyone complains, you can say, where’s the evidence?

Sound familiar? Like safe and effective, or don’t you dare prescribe or fill prescriptions for Hydroxychloruine or Ivermectin, or we’ll yank your license to practice.

The government created VAERS as the go-to standard for vaccine surveillance, but now we are told it is more like Twitter. It’s anecdotal. Inaccurate. Old wives tale.

We have reports of certificates listing the cause of death as COVID so hospitals could collect reimbursements from the government. A government that incentivized death by hospital with federal treatment guidelines that increased the odds that COVID patients would die. Policies that discouraged FDA-licensed drugs that kept people out of the hospital and saved lives.

Don’t use those, or we’ll be sending agents to review your practice.

Back in Venezuela, doctors are “encouraged” to avoid listing starvation on the death certificates of children. That government is intimidating doctors and public health officials to present a preferred narrative, just like in Biden’s America.

Where, despite the evidence that the mRNA vaccines are neither safe nor effective and are – in fact – dangerous to many, the Feds have purchased millions more doses.

An America where food prices are climbing out of reach, homelessness, addiction, and suicide are on the rise, and children and women are being trafficked.

What’s that? You are not hearing about any of that on state-run media?

America is a lot more like Venezuela than you thought.

We Need More Than Joe Biden and James Taylor

Granite Grok - Wed, 2022-09-28 15:00 +0000

We are quietly approaching a crucial point in time with the conflict in Ukraine. Remarkably, the Ukraine military is pushing the Russian insurgents back and reclaiming a good percentage of territory claimed by Putin’s army. On the surface, this may seem like great news, but it could signal the worst of events for Ukraine, Europe, and the world.

Putin is being pushed into a corner, which is not a good position for a crazed individual.

Putin thought this would be a swift operation when he invaded sovereign Ukraine. He knew he had the numbers and the firepower to topple Ukraine and return it to the Russian mainland. He did not take into account the heart of the Ukrainians and the strength of its leadership. The will of the Russian military has been broken and forced Putin to call up 300,000 young men to reinforce his troops.

This action leads to protests, unrest in Moscow, people fleeing the country, and reports that Putin has gone into hiding for his safety. It has also been reported that Putin is not a healthy man, possibly suffering from advanced stages of cancer. An injured animal can be the most vicious as they fight for survival and have little to lose.

Putin has commented that no ammo in his arsenal is out of bounds, including nuclear. These undertones should have the entire world on the highest alert and unified to prevent a nuclear assault on Ukraine. A nuclear attack by Russia could trigger like action from the United States and its allies. The world should never have to survive a nuclear battle between superpowers and more minor actors.

We also have to be cognizant that China and Russia have been meeting, and no one knows how China would react if the Ukraine conflict elevates to a nuclear level.

Joe Biden is not the man we need in control at this time of heightened tension.

His official comment to Putin yesterday was, “cool it with your threats of nukes.” This weak statement and action are indicative of the problem we face. Biden is soft and does not garner much respect on the world stage. It is not funny, but James Taylor is practicing You’ve Got a Friend. We require a stronger, more respected team than Joe Biden and Antony Blinken. No one is stronger in this feckless administration, and we may have to look to Germany or England to step up and shut Putin down. America is no longer a superpower, and that is solely on Biden.

These next few weeks are crucial. With Ukraine gaining strength, the Russian people acting out against Putin, and Putin showing weakness in how he is reacting to these current situations, it is time to tighten the screws with financial constraints. The world has to isolate Russia and prove to Putin that he will face the wrath of the world’s power should he opt to go nuclear on Ukraine. Let’s hope that Biden can muster enough strength to hold onto the ball, and let’s keep JT quietly at home on Martha’s Vineyard.

Tampa, Florida vs. Hurricane Ian (Watch Live Radar)

Granite Grok - Wed, 2022-09-28 13:30 +0000

The first major hurricane landfall of 2022 is upon us, and Ian is heading right toward the throat of Tampa Bay. I spent a good deal of time there growing up. My parents like to vacation in the area. Everything is on sand up to the water’s edge, so they’re screwed.

South of Tampa,  on Fort Myers beach (where my parents later lived for many years), they had storm surges that completely covered the island. The sea and the bay were one. Everything under the house (it was on stilts) got seawater on it or in it, including cars, lawn equipment, and tools; it was a mess.

I wasn’t there when it happened, but I’m not unfamiliar with the aftermath. But it comes with the territory. It is nice most of the time, with occasional major weather crises. They loved living there, as do most Floridians.

It is a risk they are willing to take, and today, the risk is a beast named Ian.

Wherever it lands, things will get messy, and damage will be significant. There’s no escaping that. Hurricanes happen, even during Democrat administrations. The question is, will the Left use it to provide meaningful support or as an excuse to spend another trillion dollars on crap.

I’d lean toward the latter.

Never let a crisis go to waste.

Katrina was a talking point. Sandy was a talking point. But not Harvey, which hit Texas in 2017 (Houston). Ian’s political status remains unclear, but some sick bastards out there will be happy to see DeSantis’ Florida getting spanked by mother nature.

If you see any of that, please screen-grab it and send it along, especially if it is locals here in New Hampshire.

Here are some good information and helpful words from the Conservative Treehouse if you are in the path.

How Much $$$ Are Manchester and Exeter Parents Paying For District To Defend Woke Policies?

Granite Grok - Wed, 2022-09-28 12:00 +0000

And all of this stems from when Governor Chris Sununu sign SB263 made the Democrats political day in enshrining their latest political identity group, those suffering from gender dysphoria and social contagion (i.e., Transgenderism), as the newest “protected class” people that rate “more rights” than the typical citizen (like me and most of you). That unlocked the barn door and, as those of you who read the ‘Grok already know, lots of School Districts immediately implemented Transgender Policies (and ignored all the other policies they were supposed to create and thus are in violation of the law).  While lawsuits across the nation on this (amazing, hasn’t it been, that school boards all across the country put these policies in place at the same time?), NH is a johnny-come-lately.

My lawsuit against the Gilford School Board, for being unwilling to answer two simple questions (what NH RSA gives you the Power to destroy Free Speech as well as lie to Parents about the transgender status of their child?) cost the taxpayers over $14,000.  But that leaves the other two “main” Districts being sued (more on Parental Right to raise their child/hiding transgender status, and Religious Freedom and Freedom of Speech): Manchester and Exeter.

So, I just rolled out two new Right To Know demands because the taxpayers of those Districts should know how their elected and appointed officials (school boards and Superintendents) are spending their tax money.

Subject: RSA 91A demand – An accounting of the funds expended by the Manchester School District on the recently concluded lawsuit regarding your Policy 100.1 (Transgender and Gender non-conforming Students)

Board of School members,

Please find, attached to this email, a Right To Know demand for the total expenditures, at the General Ledger Account Line(s) level, for the cost of defending the recently concluded lawsuit concerning Policy 100.1.  Please note that this RSA 91:A demand is not requesting any privileged legal communication, just the funds expended and the audit trail documentation supporting that final number.

Kindest regards,

Pursuant to the Right to Know Law (RSA. 91-A), I am demanding access, within 5 business days, to the below enumerated governmental records. Otherwise, if this cannot be fulfilled within that mandated window per RSA 91-A, please advise when the Responsive Records will be made available.

This request is for the SAU 37/Manchester School District’s total expenditures concerning the recently concluded legal matter in Hillsborough Superior Court on the legal validity of its Policy 100.1 (Transgender and Gender Non-conforming Students) in which Judge Amy Messer ruled in the District’s favor:

  • Starting values of all involved General Ledger Accounts (“GL Account lines”), as of the date that funds were first expended, as Defendants concerning its Policy 1001.
Final values of said GL Account lines used for expenditures for this lawsuit plus payments for any remaining outstanding Invoices in this case.
A transaction summary report, for each said GL line, of all transactions types to include (but not limited to):
  • Transfers into to such a GL line for this purpose
Expenditures from such a GL line for this purpose
Transfers into and out of such a GL Line:
  • Listing the destination GL line
Description as to why the transfer was desired/needed
Name of the authorizer for that transfer.
    Purpose of that transfer
The complete audit transaction trail to or from any legal entities from which advice or services were rendered concerning the lawsuit brought by the Plaintiff concerning Policy 100.1. including (but not limited to):
  • All Invoices (and other such documents requesting or outlining payments) against those GL Account lines
All payment vouchers, copies of checks, documentation for any type of Electronic Funds Transfers (e.g., ACH, Paypal, et al), or other instruments of payment against those Legal GL lines

Note: this Right To Know is not requesting any privileged communications with Counsel – merely the financial transactions with them. Per Hampton Police Ass’n, Inc. v. Town of Hampton, 162 N.H. 7 (2011), these records types (e.g., financial records) are not privileged communications – just financial transactions. If there are any such “privileged notations” associated with these transactions, redacting such notations will cure this issue. Please note that the Court held that billing and payments amounts are not privileged.

Per RSA 91-A:4 IV(c) If you deny any portion of this request, please cite the specific exemption used to justify the denial to make each record, or part thereof, unavailable for inspection along with a brief explanation of how the exemption applies to the information withheld.

As you are aware, in 2016, the New Hampshire Supreme Court ruled that a governmental body in possession of records is required to produce them in electronic media using standard common file formats: Green v. SAU #55, 168 N.H. 796, 801 (2016). Unless there is some reason that it is not reasonably practical to produce such, explain why it is not practical to comply.

Please also note, per RSA 91-A:4 III, III-a, and III-b, you are required to maintain the safety and accessibility of such responsive records whether stored locally or off-site (including a “hosting company”).

Please let me know when these records will be sent to me for inspection. You may email the responsive records to me at Skip@GraniteGrok.com. If the volume turns out to be substantial, I have already set up a Dropbox folder to use in uploading those responsive records.

Thank you for your lawful attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

WMUR’s Adam Sexton Is A Threat To Our Democracy

Granite Grok - Wed, 2022-09-28 10:30 +0000

So, I previously posted about how NHPR’s Josh Rogers Is A Threat To Our Democracy. Adam Sexton is also busy rigging the election. Social Security and Medicare are NOT among the issues voters are prioritizing this election. Even according to the FakeNews Washington Post:

Not even according to FakeNews NPR:

But here is Adam Trump-Voters-Are-White-Supremacists Sexton acting like it is eminently newsworthy … and NOT an attempt to deflect from the issues voters really care about … for Hassan to be talking about Social Security:

Panic over Climate Change Will Get Worse; Vote for Change

Granite Grok - Wed, 2022-09-28 01:30 +0000

It isn’t even October yet we have had to turn on our heat. Raw, cold nights have made that necessary, so if “global warming” is actually happening, where the heck is it? Last spring was slow in coming and our winter had extended weeks below freezing, then two weeks of really hot, summer days. Now I’m getting old (will be 80 in October) so I can tell you there is not a whisker’s difference in our climate (weather patterns) from when I was a boy. So when WMUR TV presents a pending disaster piece that property along our sea coast is in dire jeopardy, I had to laugh. So, I did. But just in case folks down there buy it, maybe I can pick up a nice oceanfront cottage on the cheap? Somehow I doubt it though because real science reported Greenland has several billion tons more ice already in September.

Oh, the sad plight of the greenies who just can’t get science to support their fantasies. Even with President Joe Biden’s dire prediction of increased hurricanes, which have not transpired, the greenies are desperately seeking straws upon which to cling. Unfortunately, funding for make-believe is still flowing from taxpayers through massive government grants and subsidies in profusion.

Good grief. Gov. Gavin Newsom out in California is passing a ban on gas- and diesel-powered vehicles to take effect next decade without any prospect of creating the green energy needed to supply that state’s present needs. Here in New Hampshire, we are still hearing from Democrats’ tales of gloom and doom while we citizens are feeling the pain of the failed Socialist agendas. It will get worse unless voters decide enough is enough and replace useless Democrats bound in failures with common sense Republicans.

Vote for change.

When Our Children Prosper, We All Prosper

Granite Grok - Wed, 2022-09-28 00:00 +0000

Both before, during, and now post-pandemic, the Department of Education remains committed to supporting our children and our schools. This support extends beyond the traditional classroom and aims to reach a vast array of students, educational facilities, and learning environments.

Support for our public schools does not mean that one does not support our non-public or home education students as well. Similarly, support for Education Freedom Accounts does not reflect a lack of support for public schools. It does not need to be one or the other, or us versus them. We all deserve the best educational experience as possible, and when our children prosper, we all prosper.

We know that learning is not a one-size fits all approach. We know that all students are equally valuable – whether they learn in a typical classroom setting, at a kitchen table, or within a small learning pod.

The pandemic disrupted everything within the world of education. Despite these monumental disruptions, New Hampshire fared well compared to many parts of the country. Coming out the other side of the pandemic and gaining a bit of perspective on what took place when we look back, there is much that we did well and much to be proud of.

We want to thank Commissioner Frank Edleblut, NH Dept of Education for this Op-Ed. If you have an Op-Ed or LTE
you would like us to consider, please submit it to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.

Those successes can be attributed to the resilience and commitment to children and families in New Hampshire by educational institutions, support organizations, and friends. Those successes also reflect the investments that have been made, both locally and at the state level, in our education system. Through COVID relief funding, school districts and the state have received unprecedented resources to invest in education, all with the goal of supporting our educators and strengthening opportunities for students.

Those state-level investments started early in the pandemic with the statewide licensing of a learning management system to make sure that our teachers and students had the best tools for effective instruction. That learning management system was augmented by a contract with Discovery Education so that our schools and learners had access to high-quality instructional materials, irrespective of the school they attend.

To assist educators in taking advantage of these tools, two professional development opportunities were made available, including a program with Granite State College to train them in the effective use of a learning management system. Most recently, we rolled out our Leaning into Literacy training to ensure that all teachers have the chance to hone their skills in teaching children to read – one of the most important factors of educational success. These opportunities will train thousands of New Hampshire educators.

Recognizing that learning gaps exist, we rolled out three separate tutoring programs to support the work of our teachers and students. Our partnership with Sal Kahn and Schoolhouse.world provides students with a peer-to-peer tutoring platform. Our “Yes! Every Student” tutoring program provides every student with $1,000 scholarships to be used for tutoring or special education services with New Hampshire Certified Educators. Most recently, we completed a contract with Tutor.com to bring 24/7 tutoring services to all children in grades 6-12.

The pandemic disrupted not only academic trajectories, but the ability for some students to access instruction because of stress, anxiety, and growing mental health struggles. Broadly, we have supported students with our Rekindling Curiosity program, which helps low-income students across the state experience one of our great New Hampshire youth camps. The #603Moment campaign is also designed to spread positivity among our communities with uplifting messaging.

For teachers struggling with dysregulated behavior from students, we provided training through The Regulated Classroom and One Trusted Adult programs, offering them strategies and tools for working with these youth. Our partnership with the Community Behavioral Health Association provided mental health training to teachers and camp counselors, as well as direct services to students needing professional mental health support. Our partnership with Graduation Alliance gives our schools direct mentoring services for thousands of secondary students that are struggling to engage, sometimes disruptive and often at risk of dropping out.

These are just a few of the many investments that we have made in support of all schools and students, regardless of where they choose to be enrolled. Our approach, through these investments, has been to support our families, teachers, administrators, and communities, all of whom work hard for our students. These investments, while predominately in support of our traditional public schools, also extend to our public charter schools, non-public schools, and Home Education programs – with the goal of supporting all students, without exclusion and without exception. These efforts and initiatives will not, as some claim, weaken our public education system. Instead, it expands opportunities and resources for every single child in the state, setting them each on a path to a bright future.

“Hate” Reported At Hartford High School

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 22:30 +0000

Hartford High School Principal Nelson Fogg’s office sent out an email to parents reporting a type of “hate” crime had been committed off campus affecting a Hartford High School student. We don’t know who, what, when, where or why because the report was deliberately vague stating:

“We were made aware of a concerning incident that happened to one of our students.  The incident was hateful and racially motivated.  This did not happen on school grounds or during the school day, but as a school district, we will not tolerate or ignore threats to members of our community and we condemn all forms of racism.”

Per the suggestion in the email, we reached out to Hartford’s new Equity Coordinator Maggie Ibrahim at ibrahimm@hartfordschools.net for comment and clarification and have yet to hear back.

A few questions immediately come to mind given the nature of the incident and the new role taken on by Miss Ibrahim.

At the risk of sounding incredulous, the problem with this type of report is both the lack of detail and the now lengthy list of hoax self-hate crimes the likes of Jussie Smollett. One might even recall Dwight Walker, a gay pastor, who set his own car on fire to curry political support. In a moment of honesty, Walker said he “wanted people to see him as a victim”, only he was also the perpetrator. He faced felony arson, lying, and fraud charges as a result.

It would be nice if this were a rarity but the number of hoaxes hate crimes (178 since 2001) compared to known hate groups in Vermont (2) gives one pause. The timing of the incident is also suspicious given the school sent out another email later that week announcing a “Day of Racial Equity” field trip occurring next week (9/30).

Nobody wants to doubt these claims but the lack of transparency given the history of these types of incidents leaves the serious investigator no choice. Who was involved? When did it happen and where? What was said or done? How do we know it was racially motivated?

I come from a neighborhood in a city almost famous for its hatefulness – southeast Portland, Oregon. We had skinheads, Aryan nations, then the Crips, Bloods, Asian gangs, Hell’s Angels, and Tanya Harding. We can hate with the best of them. Now, supreme among them is Antifa who have made themselves masters of hate masquerading as “anti” hate. My favorite was the time they tear-gassed, pepper sprayed, and assaulted children who were with their families for a prayer vigil in Waterfront Park. Because what could possibly be more fascist than praying with your kids?

If this incident is real, and until we get the full story we can’t know for sure; it absolutely should be condemned. However, the vagueness of the report disallows people to give it the necessary vitriol and rebuke any racially motivated act of hate deserves. Whoever was targeted should feel supported and unafraid of shedding light on the who, what, when, where, why, and how? I can think of no other town in Vermont than Hartford that would quickly rise to defend anyone, especially a “marginalized’ person from any act of racial hatred. They don’t just lean left, they live it. This is why this report needs to be transparent for all to get behind the victim if in fact there is an actual victim.

If the school or town refuses to shed the necessary light, then the opportunity to drive another nail in the anti-hate coffin will be missed thanks to the false altar upon which the hate hoaxes have been committed over the years.

The second question of Miss Ibrahim’s position arises wondering what exactly is an Equity Coordinator? How does one coordinate equity among Hartford High School students and faculty? Was this taxpayer paid position requested by the town, and, if not, then by whom and why?

Very little can be found on the Hartford page link to her role and bio (which you can find here). What can be found are the following statement and a list of definitions for the terms listed.

Anti-Racism Statement:

“The School District of the Town of Hartford rejects all forms of racism. Racism in any form will not be tolerated in this school. Hartford Schools are committed to the mission of increasing cultural respect by cultivating a greater understanding of concepts of diversity, inclusion, equity, implicit bias, white privilege, white supremacy, and systemic racism.”

Finally, the arbiters of designating hate groups remain the Southern Poverty Law Center who has added a “hate map” to its site. Out of all of the United States Vermont has by far the least in all of New England with two. The first is the Patriot Front which finds its base in Texas, the second is a neo-Nazi group called the Nationalist Social Club, which is ironic given NAZI stands for National Socialists. Hitler, though anti-communist, actually favored the racist teachings and gnostic program thought up by socialism’s crown prince Karl Marx.

Vermont’s proud tradition of being the first state in the union to abolish slavery in 1777 to its credit, remains a decidedly anti-hateful place to develop a hate group since only two claim residency here. However, the number of hate crimes reported in Vermont (138) is nearly triple that in New Hampshire (48) which has twice our population. Which begs the question, how is Vermont, the bluest state in the U.S., three times as hateful as New Hampshire, a historically red state?

A brief history lesson on the US government’s historical fight against racism and hate crimes goes back to Ulysses S. Grant, a Republican, who fought bravely after replacing the deceased Abraham Lincoln. Among Grant’s many battles was against the lynching of both black and white Americans who were targeted for their stand against racism. Over 1,000 Republicans were lynched during his term in office, though Grant’s efforts brought the extremist Democrat-sponsored Ku Klux Klan and their terrorism in the north to a screeching halt while he remained in office.

I wonder if they’re teaching that at Hartford High School.

Just Like Abortion, Everything The Dems Do Is Planned Destruction

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 21:00 +0000

Abortion ends a life that can now never be. It does. If you didn’t intervene, that life would be lived, so getting in the way of that ends that life. It is Planned Destruction, as is everything else Democrats do.

Their foreign policy set the world on fire. Democrat economic policy crashed the American economy. Their social policy destroys lives while they are being lived. Their transportation policy will make mobility a privilege of the elite—their policy on immigration results in thousands of dead immigrants. Crime gets worse, as do poverty, drug addiction, and suicide.

They are purposefully destroying our military, which could ultimately destroy America.

Democrats destroy everything they touch on purpose.

They ruined the family, husbands, and men, and now they are trying to destroy “women.”

Even their green policy makes the world a dirtier, more polluted place.

Their public health policy makes people sick and even kills them.

They are turning the strongest currency in the world into the weakest, and the last best hope for human liberty into another authoritarian toilet.

And now they’ve come for your children.

And while there are rank-and-file Dems who are not in on the Destruction, they keep voting for and supporting those who are wrecking America and the world on purpose.

There’s no cure, but there is a remedy.

Stop electing Democrats. End the addiction to federal handouts and bureaucratic meddling. Wean people off it because there is no other path. Democrats will inevitably destroy their own welfare programs. Even that promise is a lie.

The Communism of Jesus — and the Coming Election

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 19:30 +0000

“Go, sell all you have, give to the poor and come follow Me.” — Mark 10:21

When I was growing up, I had a vague skepticism about one aspect of the Cold War. I did understand that the Russians were coming. The Russians were coming. I did understand that we Americans stood for freedom and would not punish people for, say, creating literature, as those horrible Stalin types did.

We want to thank Mary Maxwell for this Op-Ed Please direct yours to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.

But I did not quite get why our priests, in Sunday sermons, failed to say the occasional nice thing about communism’s apparent “Christianity.”

Later, maybe by college age, I figured out that we have to go whole hog with the theory proclaimed by our side. Ignore any fiddly little questions about it. It’s win or lose, better dead than red, etc.!

Ladies and Gentlemen, this is pathetic. And it’s sooo apparent in the “Midterms.” Dems and Repubs have no intention of listening to each other. For our part, we Republicans lump all Democrats into a category and characterize the lot of ’em as little Bidens. Or little Schumers. (Or little Liz Cheneys.)

I’ll bet a sum of money that if you pulled ten people off the street in Manchester and chatted with them about, say, the Emmy awards (or anything neutral), you wouldn’t glean their party membership. A glowing halo wouldn’t be there to help you identify the Repubs, and a coupla horns wouldn’t give away the identity of the Dems. It’s just not like that.

I’m here to suggest to the triumvirate — Bolduc, Leavitt, and Burns — that they refrain from acting like they are perfect. We, on this side, already feel that they are perfect, so there’s no need for them to keep yelling the perfect Party platform. Doing so won’t add to the votes they get because every Repub is going to tick the right box anyway. (Anyone who doesn’t, please report to Sister Superior.)

The triumvirate needs to win tens of thousands of Dem votes. Per Ballotpedia, the November 2020 election in NH yielded 424,937 votes for Joe Biden (who had fared super-lousy in the Dem Primary) and 365,660 for the incumbent president, Trump. So Don Bolduc needs to get heaps and heaps of Dems, to vote him in to the US Senate. How’s my math?

I haven’t checked the breakdown of Districts 1 and 2 as regards the margin won by Pappas and Kuster, but it’s safe to say that Leavitt and Burns will need to woo many of the “enemy.” And I hope it’s obvious that our candidates gain nothing by yelling that Dems are stupid, dishonest, smelly, or anything untoward. (Tell me if I’ve got the math wrong.)

Back to Jesus

Betcha your average Catholic Democrat in NH thinks socialism has some affinity with the Gospel. Don’t worry, I know that socialism, Marxism, Communism, etc is not a plan for kindness. In fact, I am pretty sure it’s a scam of the first order. Always was, since the French Revolution of 1789 — per Nesta Webster’s amazing insight.

But the scam aspect is known only to a subset of Internet activists. On the streets of Concord, the horned set thinks socialism IS kindness. And if they believe subsidies are a good thing, they’re not far wrong. A libertarian ideal is a lovely ideal, but the reality for, say, the elderly is that a Social Security check is the source of food.

Please don’t get itchy — Yours Truly would love an unsubsidized situation. The New Hampshire ideal is great, but the feds put paid to that generations ago. (New Deal, Great Society, blah blah.) Alas.

I recommend we develop an awareness of the plenty of ordinary Dems who inhabit the Granite State. Not the mean ones. Not the mind-controlled ones. We should see them as being interested in kindness. I saw a rip-roaring food kitchen the other day. Lots of people were helping out. Were they halo’d or horn’d? I don’t know but that sort of activity is typically Dem.

So is LGBT stuff. Jesus respected Mary Magdalen. He even accepted a tax collector — Zacheus, remember? So would He say to a transperson: “Outta here”? I don’t think so.

Don’t get itchy — the propagandizing of children about gender is evil, and if it leads to an adolescent sex change it is positively criminal. But rejecting folks who don’t fit the norm is not exactly New Hampshire.

And taking a stand against them is …uh… unmathematical….

The Needle/Camel Rule

Continuing with that quote from Mark, Chapter 10. Here are verses 25 though 31:

“It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel’s, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.”

Whew!

If Gender is a Social Construct Then So Is The Gender Pay Gap

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 18:00 +0000

The Progressives seem pretty taken by the idea that gender is a social construct. But if sex is not binary, then neither is anything else related to it. Take Megan Rapino, for example.

Millionaire with a Victim Card

She is a very talented millionaire female athlete who has complained for years, despite her success, that she gets paid less than men for doing the same job. That’s the gender pay gap. Or is it? Rapinoe’s success did not come from playing against men. It results from being better than most other women in her chosen profession.

If forced to do the same job – compete professionally against men – Rapinoe doesn’t make the cut.

She’s not Megan Rapinoe, women’s world cup champion. Soccer as a career is never even on the radar. Maybe she’s Megan, your server asking you what kind of dressing you’d like on your house salad or if you’d prefer potato wedges, mashed, baked, or fries. Or Megan, the barista, or perhaps bartender – which worked out okay for Sandy Cortez.

But if gender is a social construct, there can be no women’s soccer. It’s just soccer, and guess what? No women play the game professionally. Men dominate it so completely that women cannot even compete against the C-Team leftovers.

It’s not injustice. It’s sex.

All other things being equal in athletics – effort, training, practice, natural skill – men will always dominate, and that’s a construct of nature.

So no women mean no pay gap.

Outside the arena, the so-called pay gap would also be at odds with the genderless society. If no one is genuinely male or female, then people truly are paid based on their ability, merit, availability, risk factors, appearance, willingness to relocate or travel, and scores of other factors.

No gender no gender pay gap.

But there is a pay gap. Among men, many earn far more than their value because of social constructs. Some women get paid more for similar reasons.

It’s just the way the world works.

And hey, Diversity, equity, and inclusion are a social construct that has enriched many who could neither compete at soccer nor wait tables. But they command salaries well above the national average to perpetuate the social constructs that keep them employed, like the gender pay gap. But if you reconceive sex into something indefinable, past constructs built on a binary foundation must also collapse.

If Megan Rapinoe is earning the same as a man doing the same job, what’s to keep her “employers” from expecting her to do a man’s work – even in soccer? And when she can’t compete with men and finds herself jobless, what then? Outrage?

What if men claiming to be women flood her workspace and outperform her there, making her jobless? Is that different? Is it worthy of the same outrage, and if not, why not?

It’s the social Marxist equivalent of a paradox. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

Sex is binary, gender is a social construct, and the pay gap almost always filters for value, not genitals. But if you still want to make genitals meaningless, then the gender pay gap has to go too.

Meme Overflow

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 16:30 +0000

As promised in the last Monday Memes, I have an overflow. My meme cup runneth over.  Reasonably confident about a Friday Overflow-Overflow.  We’ll see.

Now, let the mayhem, mockery, and ridicule resume:

*** Warning, a few possibly off-color ones, in case tender eyes are about ***

>>>>>=====<<<<<

>>>>>=====<<<<<

Who remembers these?  I fear they’re making a comeback…

>>>>>=====<<<<<

>>>>>=====<<<<<

To make it easier:

“Political correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, not to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better. When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is in some small way to become evil oneself. One’s standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed. A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine political correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.”

>>>>>=====<<<<<

>>>>>=====<<<<<

Reminds me of this:

It’s fun to watch the woketards short out like this.

>>>>>=====<<<<<

>>>>>=====<<<<<

I am sure this goes both ways.  Men are looking at their women (wait, am I allowed to use those words still?) and wondering if their pampered selves will be able to hand-wash clothes, dig in the dirt and thus forsake their painted nails & make-up, etc.  And in a grid-down situation, with no power and no cell phones, how many will be utterly lost?

>>>>>=====<<<<<

>>>>>=====<<<<<

I truly wish this were so.  I truly wish that, uncovering that nugget of Truth around which so many lies have been layered, that the scales will fall from peoples’ eyes.  But more and more I have observed that – with rare exceptions – Carl Sagan and Franz Fanon apply:

“One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.”

― Carl Sagan, The Demon-Haunted World: Science as a Candle in the Dark

“Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong. When they are presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that is extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. And because it is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalize, ignore and even deny anything that doesn’t fit in with the core belief.”

― Frantz Fanon, Black Skin, White Masks

And both of those tie to vanity.  For example, people are convinced they are GOOD PEOPLE for taking and pushing The Jab.  For them to accept evidence that the Jab is harmful and/or not effective, they’d have to accept that they were fooled and that they might have actually done harm to people by encouraging it… let alone catastrophic harm to their descendants.  Few people have that kind of strength to admit error to that degree.  Not for nothing is Vanity the Devil’s favorite sin…

>>>>>=====<<<<<

>>>>>=====<<<<<

Pick of the post:

That Biden likes kids was known even to most of his supporters.  What scares me is that, to them, that was less important than stopping mean tweets from Orange Man Bad.

>>>>>=====<<<<<

>>>>>=====<<<<<

Sanctuary Democrats in One Picture

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 15:00 +0000

The comedy of errors that is the left’s sanctuary state of mind was epitomized by the reaction on Martha’s Vineyard when two plane loads of Illegal Aliens landed on the island. Not on my lawn.

The elected local officials of the uber-rich residents had the “migrants” frog-marched out of their sanctuary by armed escort.

Related: Time to Update Those Progressive “In My America” Yard Signs (Again) – “Immigrants” Not Welcome Edition

None of this state of emergency business like they’ve got in DC, NYC, and Chicago. No, sir, we’ll not be doing that. So, yes – it is a poster child for the limo-libs policy narrative meets reality. They didn’t really want them; they just wanted you to think that.

They want YOU to absorb them and pay for them, so when I stumbled on this meme, I thought, perfect!

Why, indeed?

Perception.

Democrats don’t care about women, the poor, illegals, blacks, Latinos, Lesbians, the gender dysphoric, crime, spending, the economy, guns, voting rights, or even abortion. Their only interest is in whether they can use it, whatever it is, to launder money into votes into power.

Once they have that power, they will reveal exactly how much they don’t care about any or all of that because by then, it will be too late for you to do anything about it.

Pro Tip: don’t wait for that day to come. Support Net Zero Democrats, Today!

Complaint Filed Against SAU21 for Discriminating Against Christian, Jewish and Muslim Students

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 13:30 +0000

The names of the parents have been redacted and has been slightly edited for privacy purposes.
This is a complaint of discrimination filed by a family in North Hampton / SAU 21

Case against SAU21 to the Human Rights Commission:

This is a complaint of religious discrimination in SAU21. The district is discriminating against Christian, Jewish, and Muslim students as I will demonstrate by the school’s doing in A,B, and C.

Training for teachers that was completed on September 13, 2022 will require children to behave in ways that conflict with their beliefs about males and females; they would be required to restrict their speech about those beliefs, and would be intimidated by teachers promoting such speech. My rights as a parent are diminished by the teachings about sexual relations which conflict with or are intended to substitute for what is taught at home.

A) SAU21 began a process in February 2022 with Seacoast Outright to provide training for teachers on ways to deal with the LGBTQ students in the school district. Parents and residents in the school district began asking questions on how this training would impact all of the children in the district. For example, would the training institute practices by teachers that could conflict with what religious families were teaching their children at home? How would this subject matter be presented so that all worldviews would be presented and respected during this training?

Inquiries were made to examine the materials that would be used during the training. Parents began looking at the credentials of the trainer, the background of the organization hired to train the teachers, and how teachers would then apply this training to the students who were in their classroom.

As I scanned the documents other residents acquired through their 91-a Right To Know Requests, I became more concerned. Nothing in this training addressed the religious students that the teachers serve in the district. What if a teacher expresses a viewpoint that conflicts with our religious beliefs? How would this be handled?

Seacoast Outright has a narrow political and social viewpoint that they were to present to the teachers during this training session that never took into consideration religious views on this subject.

Members of the community, on our behalf, requested that the training be cancelled. If it was not going to be canceled, would they at least include other viewpoints that would show respect to the religious families they were serving? Here is what was presented to the Superintendent during a meeting with Ann Marie Banfield, a parental rights advocate in New Hampshire. School Board members from North Hampton and Hampton Falls were also present. She requested that the following information also be provided to teachers during the training session. That request was denied by the Superintendent.

1) A statement on Gender identity from the Catholic Church
2) Respect Project (see attached file)
3) U.S. Department of Education: Guidance on Constitutionally Protected Prayer and Religious Expression in Public Elementary and Secondary Schools
4) Orange County Videos: Religious Expression in Schools
5) Detransition Diaries once it is released
6) FDA warning on puberty blockers

As a parent in this school district, I believe the training should be inclusive of all children on this subject, yet there was only one viewpoint provided to the teachers. By adding different viewpoints, the teachers would then be better prepared to address questions from the religious families they serve in the district.

After reviewing the slides that would be presented to the teachers during the training, there was nothing that presented any viewpoints from the Muslim, Jewish or Christian faiths. Some of the information on the slides conflicted with what religious families may be teaching their children. School District administrative staff provided conflicting information regarding how the training would be used: teachers were told they would talk further about strategies shown on the slides to use the information in classes and activities unrelated to education, while taxpayers have been told it was simply informational and addressed terminology, and had no curricular elements.

For instance, Seacoast Outright has a political message that will conflict with some of the families in the district. Those families may not feel comfortable addressing this with the school board or administration for fear of retaliation that could be directed at their children. This makes for a hostile district that is exclusive rather than inclusive.

The slideshow included statements that conflict with our religious views, along with other families in the district. Here are some of those statements included in the slides: Text in black/my comments in RED. (BOLD)

See attached files for the actual slides:
Today’s Agenda: Breaking down the binary of sex assigned at birth: is a political view and not based in scientific facts which conflicts with our religious beliefs.
Foundational Concepts: The Gender Elephant : One political viewpoint, not inclusive of religious views.

Identity Development in Young Children: We and Many other parents do not want any of these discussions with their young children in school. There was nothing about respecting parental rights from those in the religious communities.

Strategy 2: Utilize Gender Neutral Language: Using gender neutral terms is becoming the accepted way to make all people feel recognized and respected: This has actually angered mothers and fathers, so widely accepted may not necessarily be true. Address your classes with gender neutral greetings ex. “Good morning folks!”: This is a political agenda to move society to a genderless society. This is exclusive political jargon not inclusive of religious viewpoints.

Practice using they/them pronouns as singular terms during class: Nothing in here about respecting the conscience of your teachers who may hold sacred religious values. This is more of a political agenda that is exclusive versus inclusive.

Strategy 3 Ask and Tell Pronouns: Nothing in here about respecting the conscience of your teachers again, and is exclusive versus inclusive.

Empowering Your Students: Celebrate Pride Week in October, Ensure representation in books, Put a few small LGBTQIA + flags or stickers in a visible spot on your desk or lanyard: This is exclusive and not inclusive to Muslim, Jewish and Christian students. How many books on Christian, Jewish or Muslim Children are in the class? These are non-academic activities which intimidate my children.

Taking Action Beyond the Classroom: (Sports / Gender neutral and/or private bathrooms and changing areas: This is a political call to action for the teachers from an organization that we were told is not a political organization. Modesty is a big part of traditional religious institutions, and nothing on that is provided in the training. North Hampton School explicitly rejected my daughter’s request for privacy when she uses the school’s bathrooms.

Resources and Sources: Not diverse in any way. Nothing from the Jewish/Muslim/or Christian community that provide sources on the LGBTQ+ children. Statements, resources, etc.

B) I already had one incident with a teacher in the North Hampton School when she asked my daughter to remove the words “Merry Christmas” from the white board. My daughter was told that she could possibly offend someone by writing Merry Christmas on the White Board. I addressed this with the School Board at a school board meeting, but nothing was ever done to rectify the situation. In other words, no one ever apologized for the teacher denying my daughter her free speech rights.

C) My daughter came home a few weeks ago to notify me that all of the religious Christmas carols would be removed from the Holiday music program. I immediately contacted the Principal at the school, Ms. Snyder, to clarify what this meant. According to Principal Snyder all religious music needed to be removed because of the Separation of Church and State Law. I informed her that no law existed, and that religious music could continue. I attended the next school board meeting where a couple of us informed the school board, and brought forth historical information on the misuse of Separation of Church and State.

During the a school board meeting, my daughter who is in the 7th grade spoke about how she did not want any policy that allowed restrooms in the school to become gender neutral. I spoke along with her father, explaining how this would cause the girls in the school to refrain from using the restroom if a biological boy was in there. This is what we had heard was happening in some of the other schools where this policy was put in place. After we all spoke during public comments, one of the school board members, Kate Belanger, made a disparaging remark towards us. This was caught on video tape where others who were watching were shocked by her remarks. I sent an email to the Chair and board members criticizing Belanger, who made my daughter feel bad for simply conveying her honest feelings.

This kind of treatment directed at my family and my daughter has caused us to lose trust and faith in those who are in charge of educating my children. We have not received an apology for the way we were treated at the school board meeting by Ms. Belanger, and we have not seen any good faith effort by school administrators to offer any remedies to the religious families. Instead, good faith efforts by parent advocates have been dismissed and ignored.

There are no training sessions scheduled for teachers to advise teachers on how to address the needs of the religious children they serve in the district. There are no directives on adding religious flags or religious displays from the various religious traditions to accompany the LGBTQ/Pride flags and bulletin boards that children see in their school everyday.

The North Hampton school district recently issued a Resolution of Inclusivity. We have not seen the leadership under Superintendent Nadeau, and Assistant Superintendent David Hobbs support the religious families in the district, and in fact, we feel they have created an environment that appears to be discriminatory and hostile instead.

To rectify this situation, we’d like to see training for teachers so that they will learn that there are other viewpoints on this subject. This would include all items listed above 1 to 6. There should be sensitivity training so teachers and administrators understand how disparaging comments can impact the religious families in the school district. There should be a directive to always include religious symbols and displays alongside LGBTQ symbols and displays.

If district administrators are looking to meet the terms as described by anti-discrminiation legislation and policies, they need to be reminded that religious students are included as a protected class and therefore, should always be included.

Is Credibility an Abandoned Trait?

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 12:00 +0000

We have looked at transparency and truthfulness many times on Conservative View, and, unfortunately, the question of credibility comes to the forefront far too often. I would have no problem, in fact, I would welcome a situation where two candidates would face off fairly and openly.

Let the two people put their views and policies on the table and let people decide which person fits their vision of the future.

We are used to dirty, ugly campaigns where the ads that flood the airwaves are nothing but attack ads. Today, this type of campaign has become the norm and, in my view, is more common with Democrat candidates. What I am having an issue with is ads that are a complete distortion of the truth.

The Democrats have thrown credibility out the window in 2022.

They are blasting their opponents with messages far removed from the truth. There is only one reason for this approach. When your policies are failing, and you have put the country into free fall, you have to resort to character assassination and false messaging.

The issue that they are focusing on is one they know will gin up emotions and fear with the Democrat base. That issue is reproductive rights, better known as abortion. They are keying on the Supreme Court reversal of Roe V. Wade and contorting the Republican view on the issue.

Every Republican man or woman acknowledges that the topic of abortion has been sent back to the state level by the Court. It is no longer a topic of debate at the D.C. level. Republicans concede that there will never be an outright ban on abortion, but one thing those on the Right would like to see is a limit on when an abortion can be performed.

Republicans find late-term abortion abhorrent and tantamount to murder. Words cannot express how strongly we are against allowing a fetus who survives an abortion to die without care. These are concerns that D.C. Republicans will continue to fight.

Three members of the administration or Democrat Party that have abandoned credibility in their messaging are Karine Jeanne-Pierre, Joe Manchin, and John Kirby. KJP will say anything, true or false, that is written in her oversized loose-leaf notebook. Never having an original thought or the propensity to answer a question directly, Karine is the poster child for a false narrative.

Joe Manchin sold his future for his vote on the Inflation Reduction Act. He was promised changes to restrictions on the fossil fuel industry, which is integral to his home state of West Virginia. Of course, these promises are not coming to fruition.

In an obvious show of desperation, Manchin is appealing to Republicans for support. Claiming that this is the only path to energy independence, his pleas appear to be falling on deaf ears.

Republicans know we enjoyed energy independence two years ago under Donald Trump. Biden and his horrendous policy decisions have made us a buyer instead of a seller in the world energy market. Good luck on gambling your political future on a lie.

John Kirby is a senior White House and Pentagon advisor. He is a retired Rear Admiral, which is the equivalent of a General. I would think a man who attained that level in our military did so with honesty and integrity. If he had them, he lost them now that he is a politician rather than a warrior.

His take on our Southern Border is as wrong as Biden or Harris. He blatantly claims the Border is secure and that this administration is spending billions on keeping it secure. Both are just not true. The videos and eyewitness accounts say otherwise. This administration’s efforts are not to stop the flow but to process the invasion quickly.

These are just three examples. Call it lying, gaslighting, misinforming, whatever. It is wrong; hopefully, these Dems will pay the piper in November.

Who Gave Chris Sununu Permission to Support Gen. Don Bolduc?

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 10:30 +0000

His Excellency, Governor Groomer, has been harsh regarding US Senate candidate Don Bolduc. Unsupportive. He took sides until his guy (Chuck Morse) lost the primary to the General. So what’s changed?

Typically, when Granite Staters choose the wrong Republican, the money people fold up their checkbooks and disappear in the mist. They’d rather have the Democrat than that Republican. It happens almost every year. So, what’s changed?

Sununu suddenly thinks Bolduc is a great guy.

“We’re going to be having a good time in early November. Senator Hassan is going to lose, no question. She’s one of the most unliked, with the lowest favorability ratings Senators in the country. General Bolduc won a tough fought primary with very little money,” Sununu said. “Now he’s raising some money, he’s getting some national attention, he’s an amazing individual with this war hero background that just wants to stand up and serve.”

Is it Bolduc or the NH GOPe?

Bolduc got endorsed by the best US ambassador to the UN in my lifetime (part-time turncoat), Nikki Haley (R-GOPe). Now, Sununu is saying nice things. Tom Cotton, who isn’t supposed to be a GOPe guy, supports Bolduc. So, what gives?

Did Don’s flip on the election legitimacy thing unlock the hearts and minds of the Republican Donor class?

Whatever the change in climate, someone told Chris Sununu it was okay to like Don Bolduc, and I’d like to know who.

His dad. That’d be my guess. Sununu Sr., former Bush white house chief of staff and connected GOPe insider, has a lot of influence with the RINO caucus, Never-Trumpers, and such. Did he pop the cork on this, or has Don impressed them with his ability to jump on a different flank, and they feel confident he can be massaged when needed?

Dean Spiliotes, SNHU Civic Scholar and founder of NH Political Capital, said it’s likely a bid for party unity going into November.

“This doesn’t mean that Sununu has changed his opinion of Bolduc. It’s simply your typical party unity play, and perhaps a way for Sununu to remove a potential distraction from his own reelection bid,” Spiliotes said.

I’m impressed by your credentials, Dean, and hey, appearances on NHPR and CSPAN, good for you, but I’ve been in the NH political weeds for almost 15 years, and I can count the times the GOPe backed a non-GOPe candidate for office. The number is very close to one.

And while I would love to believe that they understand that this moment in time is more critical than their good-old-boy/gurl club bullsh!t, that would be like asking a blowfish to make a baked Alaska. It’s not in their nature.

I am suspicious.

I want Don to win, but I’m not ready to commit to any theory about why the left on the right is suddenly supportive. Is it all talk and no checks? I didn’t look.

I know that Gen. Bolduc is a seasoned warfighter and knows a thing or two about misdirection in the battlespace. And while I can’t say it for a fact, I would feel a lot better if this was all a tactic to get what he needs to get elected so he can vote based on how he ran for office up to the day before the primary.

The way he answered questions for us in his two-hour GrokGauntlet.

I’m voting for Don no matter what and still holding out hope that is the guy we’ll send to DC if he displaces Margret Wood (Hassan!), but you have to admit, this sudden outpouring of enthusiasm has to make you a bit suspicious.

Notable Quote – “Historic Thoughts on ‘Our Democracy'”

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 08:00 +0000

In the ensuing 233 years, many Americans have lost their fear of a tyrannical authority. Indeed, some of our ‘elite’ seem to love such authority, which they hope to control for their own tyrannical purposes, and these elites have lately gotten into the habit of using the phrase ‘our democracy’ as if there were a consensus agreement in favor of the nebulous concept this phrase is meant to express. Specifically, the elites who endlessly blather on about ‘our democracy’ claim that it is threatened by Donald Trump and his supporters, so that ‘our democracy’ can only be safe if 74 million voters are effectively disenfranchised.

In other words, ‘our democracy’ requires the suppression of dissent, which certainly is not what most Americans think of as democracy.”

-Stacy McCain (Historic Thoughts on ‘Our Democracy’)

Added by Glen Reynolds:  “When Democrats talk about “our democracy,” what they really mean is their democracy. Your votes don’t count.”

And these people who want the rest of us to believe that the United States is a democracy really are totalitarians trying to redefine what the US is.  We are a Constitutional/Representative Republic that uses democratic processes to elect those representatives and NOT a Democracy.  Our Founding Fathers studied history and saw that almost every democracy fell into totalitarianism in one fashion or another. By instituting a set of checks and balances

‘Anyone But Sununu’ Movement Gaining Momentum

The Liberty Block - Tue, 2022-09-27 03:44 +0000

Over the past two years, Chris Sununu has shown his true colors. Shortly after Lord Fauci called for lockdowns in the name of corona-fascism, Sununu shut down the legislature and promoted himself to dictator.

The “Woke Hoax” Is Unraveling America

Granite Grok - Tue, 2022-09-27 03:00 +0000

The women’s volleyball match between Duke University and Brigham Young University had ended, but the turmoil had just begun. A black Duke player complained that every time she served, a fan heckled her using the N-word.

The response was immediate. The perpetrator was identified and declared guilty. He was immediately banned from any future Brigham Young sports events, and apologies from the University were issued. The Duke player was featured on mainstream media and cable news TV, heralded as a brave example for the rest of us to learn from.

The University of South Carolina announced it would no longer honor its commitment to play BYU in basketball. It was all wound up into a tight ball until someone noticed no other person had heard any of the slurs {including any of the other players}. An extensive investigation of the incident was then undertaken. Many primary source witnesses were interviewed, and large amounts of real-time digital video were examined. And no evidence was found that anyone used the slur.

We want to thank Jim Betti for this Op-Ed. If you have an Op-Ed or LTE
you would like us to consider, please submit it to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.

The Duke player had perpetrated another vicious progressive “Woke Hoax.”

Brigham Young University reversed its decision and reinstated the falsely accused person’s sporting event privileges. From the NYT, WaPo, CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, and CBS there were crickets. Duke stood behind the disgraced volleyball player, and the University of South Carolina had no comment.

All too often, innocent people are falsely smeared by members of Progressive-protected, so-called marginalized populations. The “Woke Hoax” is their preferred Modus Operandi.  Jesse Smollett, The Duke lacrosse scandal, the UVA Rolling Stone Scandal, and perhaps the worst example, the confirmation hearing for Judge Kavanaugh, come to mind.

In Kavanaugh’s case, three women placed horrible sexual misconduct accusations against Kavanaugh, of which none was substantiated {Two have recanted, and Christine Blasey Ford hides behind her “repressed memory” version of events}. This is not to mention the FBI tips line that lit up with hundreds of bogus claims against the Judge. The list of false accusers goes on and on, with one common denominator: Nothing happens to the progressive-protected accusers, and in many cases, they are glorified {think Christine Blasey Ford and the Duke volleyball player}.

Where does this heinous progressive “Woke Hoax” behavior come from?

Elite progressives have developed a religious-like fanaticism that America is systemically racist, homophobic, and misogynistic. And these beliefs have led to the progressive condoned malicious use of the “Woke Hoax.” The “Hoaxes” are not just confined to individuals advancing their agenda by falsely accusing non-progressives of vile behavior. Fabricated narratives {Hoaxes} are essential for progressives to successfully {think George Soros} bend America to their socialistic will.

Many elites have been “hoaxed” from the moment they were born, groomed through “Woke” public/private high schools, and their elite colleges.

The author’s elite alma mater, Williams College, provides a good example. Over the last several decades, there have been two incidents where racial slurs were written on a building. One was quickly proven to be written by a black student, and the other had no final determination, but the only person seen near where the racial slur was found was a black female student activist. Common sense would dictate the truth about the racists’ hoaxes would come out, and life would go on, but that’s not what happened. Classes were canceled, making way for a campus-wide discussion {think indoctrination} of systemic racism.

To understand how absurd this is, a description of Williamstown, Massachusetts, and Williams College is required. The campus is located in the Northwest corner of Massachusetts’ Berkshire Mountains, and besides the affirmative action students and the “Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity faculty,” there are minimal minorities. The Williams faculty has no Republican members. The student body mimics Harvard and probably graduates the same 4% of conservative students. Williamstown is one of the most privileged “Woke “places in America. After the George Floyd murder, the entire town was covered with Black Lives Matter signs, and gay pride flags were ubiquitous.

Within the described dystopian background, the next episode of the twilight zone at Williams commenced.

A Great progressive “Woke Hoax” was perpetrated. Despite having no demonstrable racism on campus, all the students had their preconceived ideas about systemic racism reinforced. And any students who were not previously enlightened were baptized into wokeness.

Sadly, these well-meaning woke-indoctrinated elite privileged mostly white students think they will enter the world as progressive Social Justice Warriors, but in reality, they were going to unwittingly participate in the greatest “Woke Hoax” of them all, that America is systemically bad and only the enlightened, such as themselves, can fix the problem.

For the last several generations, reoccurring indoctrination has infiltrated America. The progressive elites allow no discussion in the marketplace of ideas. Anything that’s contrary to their religious woke principles is a violation of their “safe space” and is not allowed. Violators are immediately punished. Freedom of speech is a casualty of the woke religion and they will do whatever is required {think Woke Hoax} to achieve their goals of destroying America’s traditional values, its religions, and even the idea of American exceptionalism.

The “Woke Hoax” mentality is spreading and causing severe harm. Its goal? To create a docile, subservient population that can be easily controlled.

Anywhere, suburban USA

The married mother has a very busy life. Between her job and her two children, a boy and a girl, she never seems to stop. In 2020 she and her husband voted for Joe Biden because everyone said Trump was a nasty person and shouldn’t be allowed to be President. At some level, she knew the country was doing very well under President Trump, but it didn’t matter. He had to go. The “Woke Hoax “of the 2020 Presidential election had succeeded.

Over the last 21 months, things have gotten really hard. The family grocery bills and energy costs are way up. The electricity bill doubled, and gas was still up a dollar and a half per gallon. Everything was now costing more. The young couple was thinking about buying a house, but the family 401(k) account and college education 529 accounts were down 20%. Mortgage rates were over 6%, their rent was up, and with massive inflation, they could not afford it. Biden said the economy was good. The “Woke Hoax” was destroying her family’s financial future.

She could no longer go into New York City because after the George Floyd riots and the defunded police. It wasn’t safe. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the violence reached her neighborhood. Biden said diversity, inclusion, and equity would make things better. The “Woke Hoax” made her family less safe.

During the Covid shutdown, she was very disturbed to see and hear her children being indoctrinated with CRT, and by the news, her friend had lost a son to a fentanyl overdose. She knew sex traffickers and drugs were coming over the open southern border along with millions of illegal immigrants, but Biden’s Secretary of Homeland Security said the border was secure. The “Woke Hoax” was destroying America from within.

The elections were coming up, and some of her girlfriends, who declined to have families, were outraged that the SCOTUS overturned Roe versus Wade. Many of these woke women had abortions of convenience, so they could stay on their professional track. She had always been a feminist, but something wasn’t quite right. Nothing had changed. Abortion was still readily available, and rape and incest, along with the physical health of the mother, were carved out. She knew a young man who was born at 26 weeks and was doing well. As she looked into his eyes, she wondered, how could anyone say terminating a pregnancy after 24 weeks wasn’t taking a life? The “Woke Hoax” was falling apart.

During his college time, another friend’s son had been accused by a female student of sexual inappropriateness. The boy was thrown out of school, but in a court of law, he was finally given due process and was vindicated. She knew this type of injustice had been stopped during the Trump administration but now Biden was bringing it back. The “Woke Hoax” had hurt her friend’s son and someday could hurt hers.

She loved watching her daughter play soccer, but now transgender boys made the competition unfair. And they wanted access to her girl’s bathroom and showers. The “Woke Hoax” was actively harming her daughter.

Her children had done well in school, but she wondered why standardized tests were being abandoned and why teachers were no longer grading on achievement but instead were promoting diversity and equity ahead of hard work and merit. She wondered why children were being put to the back of the line because of the color of their skin. The “Woke Hoax” was stealing her children’s future.

It is time for Americans to see through the deceitful fog of the “Woke Hoaxes” and act. And there is only one way to drive a stake through the heart of the hoaxsters who want to control our lives.

Vote like your family’s, and your country’s survival depend on it!  Because it does!!
