Mayor of Nashua Appeals to the NH Supreme Court to Keep Public Records Hidden

Granite Grok - Sat, 2022-04-30 13:30 +0000

On February 7, 2022, the Court decided in favor of requiring the City of Nashua to provide me with emails, sent to an assessing supervisor, by way of backup tape restoration.

The City has an antiquated 45-day email storage and retention policy whereby if emails are not moved into a personal folder, they are purged from the system and moved to a backup tape storage system. Nashua is one of the only municipalities that use this antiquated method.

The retention records law, RSA 33-a requires emails to be saved for one year. This creates a conflict with Nashua’s policy.

One of my first requests for emails occurred in June 2019 when I requested the former Assessing chiefs’ emails from September and October 2018. It turns out the City complied and retrieved those records off of tape backup without any problem, well past the 45-day retention period.

The next request filed in June 2020 was for July/August 2019 emails of the Administrative Service Director as she had taken over serving as the Chief of assessing.  For months, the City promised to deliver the emails but never complied. The Court ruled that the emails must be provided. After nearly 10 months, many legal filings, and a court hearing, the City disclosed that they discovered “early on” that the backup tape was corrupted and the emails were lost. This resulted in sanctions for bad faith against the City and almost $8,000 of attorney’s fees paid out.

When I made the June 2021 request for the assessing supervisors’ emails for November and December 2020 (she left the city on Christmas 2020), I believed the City would have no problem providing those records. After all, the Chief’s records were provided and the City agreed to provide Ms. Kleiner’s emails. But this time, the City claimed the records no longer existed, they had been initially and legally deleted. The City offered no explanation as to what that meant and did not cite RSA 91-A as a reason for failing to provide the emails. Instead, they were evasive.

In Court, the Nashua legal team stated that “initially and legally deleted” meant the emails had been put on the backup tape and they should not be required to obtain those records. The practice for searches had been changed without disclosure to the public.

RSA 91-A requires that a request be reasonably described such that a person of reasonable knowledge has the ability to search for the record. In Court, the IT Director acknowledged he knew where to find the records and the search would not be time-intensive. The Mayor overstepped his authority and violated the law for reasonable search by denying these records without speaking with the people with reasonable knowledge to search and obtain these records. He had no expertise to make a blanket decision to shut down access to all emails on tape backup.

On February 7, 2022, the Court ruled against the City.

The City’s IT Director testified in Court that it would only take him a couple of hours to retrieve the records. The City filed a motion for reconsideration. On March 25, 2022, the Court ruled that the order to retrieve the emails would stand and ordered training for the city. The Court was allowing me to make recommendations for the training to improve searches for records.

Now, no training will occur any time soon and records will remain closed.

The Mayor is appealing the lower court decision to the Supreme Court. This City should focus on the optics of closing records in an assessing office and the complete lack of transparency this City has demonstrated regarding the quality of work performed by the office as well as access to those public records.

The emails I have received have proven to tell quite a story and no doubt the City would like these records from 2019 and 2020 to remain hidden. So, the chess game continues and we will wait and see what prevails at the NH Supreme Court. In the next couple of months, new assessments will be delivered to every property owner in Nashua. You can be sure that transparency and credibility in this data do not exist as leadership continues to fight to hide information, retaliate against those who request information, and promote incompetence.

The Court orders and filing to the Supreme Court are attached.

“Who Is to Blame for the [Ukraine-Russia] Conflict?”

Granite Grok - Sat, 2022-04-30 12:00 +0000

It is interesting to see how people from different countries believe who is behind the Ukraine/Russia war: Russia, Ukraine, the US, or NATO.

My take is only one of the four: Russia.  By first invading Crimea, Russia decided land that was Ukraine’s was now theirs (like Hitler taking over the Sudetenland (and then Austria) because he made the play that they were German. And now, Putin is trying to take more and more to reconstitute the old Soviet Union.

I do have a question, though: Japan, the UK, Germany, France, and Brazil certainly think it is Russia who started the war.  But look at the view of Americans – they very much blame the US (with only Turkey and China blaming us more).

Is it safe to say that those Americans that are skewing to such self-loathing are the Left-leaning Democrats?

Internal-Affairs Investigation of Boyland’s Death a “Clear and Convincing Coverup.”

Libertarian Leanings - Sat, 2022-04-30 10:39 +0000

Epoch Times:  EXCLUSIVE: New Jan. 6 Bodycam Videos Show DC Police Officer Assaulting Unconscious Protester (Video at the link)

A District of Columbia police officer used a large wooden stick to strike the body and head of protester Rosanne Boyland three times as she lay motionless on the ground on Jan. 6, 2021, according to bodycam footage from several officers obtained by The Epoch Times.

Use-of-force expert Stanley Kephart, upon reviewing the previously unreleased footage, concluded that the three full-force blows by D.C. police officer Lila Morris constituted a felony assault with intent to cause great bodily harm.

Kephart called Morris’s use of force “indefensible” and the internal-affairs investigation of Boyland’s death a “clear and convincing coverup.”

Joe Biden Has the Limber Storyteller’s Tendency to Stretch…

Granite Grok - Sat, 2022-04-30 10:30 +0000

This past Wednesday, poor ‘Old’ Joe Biden claimed that he suffered from a childhood stutter and added that he has not fully overcome it.

“I didn’t really beat my stutter — still occasionally I do,” ‘Blue Collar’ Joe Biden told the rapt crowd at a White House event celebrating Teachers of the Year. “I stuttered badly, and when you stutter, everyone thinks you have to be stupid or totally incompetent,” mouthed our seemingly feckless leader.

Ah, not really Mr. President.  I suffered from stuttering as a child and no one called me stupid or incompetent.

Nope, I visited Miss Marie Luckern, the speech pathology therapist, and we worked together over some months duration, with the encouragement of my family and teachers at the Hillcrest School in Fenton, NY.

We want to thank John Burtis for this Op-Ed. If you have an Op-Ed or LTE
you would like us to consider, please submit it to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.

You see, “…a stutter is a disturbance in the normal fluency and time patterning of speech that is inappropriate for the individual’s age. This disturbance is characterized by frequent repetitions or prolongations of sounds or syllables. Various other types of speech dysfluencies may also be involved including interjections, broken words, audible or silent blocking, circumlocutions, words produced with an excess of physical tension, and monosyllabic whole word repetitions.” (from dsm-iv, 1994)

Stuttering can affect anyone, just as it did me. However, it is most common in young children who are still learning to speak.  And boys are three times more likely to stutter than girls.  There is no cure, but stuttering therapy for young children can keep it from becoming a lifelong problem. (nih: national institute on deafness and other communication disorders)

“Old” Joe’s witless blather said nothing about our dedicated speech pathologists and what can be done to cure this particular problem, which can be socially destructive at any age.  Nope, with Joe it was totally lost in his hot air and ends up being another example of “Middle Class” Joe Biden’s questionable and growing repertoire on the richly embroidered tapestries relating to his increasingly nebulous previous life.

Beyond stuttering, our fearless leader has been heard to repeat a series of vaudeville gags over and over, rivaling, in many cases, the long winded personal heroics of Uncle Dick Blumenthal (D-CT).

Biden often repeats, ad nauseam, a fictional tale illustrating how dear Amtrak is to the doddering old man serving as the Free World’s leader and about the thrilling adventures of a former conductor named Angelo Negri.  Biden told this particular tale during a speech at the NJ Transit maintenance facility in Kearny, NJ, as he touted his $1.2 trillion Senate-passed “Build Back Better” bill that would boost funding for the train wreck that is Amtrak, now said to operate at a $700 million loss.

“I apologize because some of you have heard this,” Biden limned that old reliable line.  “When I was vice president, I used to like to take the train home because my mom was very sick and dying.  And I’d come home every weekend,” said Biden, whose mother died in 2010.

“I’m getting on one Friday and then one of the senior guys on Amtrak, Angelo Negri … walks up to me and he goes, ‘Joey baby!’ He grabs my cheek. And I thought the Secret Service was gonna blow his head off. I swear to God, true story.”  Sure’n Begorrah!  Say it ain’t so, Joe, remembering my police interrogation training which explained that a guy “swearing to God” during a lengthy yarn indicates that it’s made of whole cloth.

Let’s turn a page to Biden’s tale of “Corn Pop,” the gang member Biden allegedly faced down during his incredibly lengthy tenure as a lifeguard in Wilmington, Delaware, where kids gathered and stood agog at his hairy legs.  There, Corn Pop was the “bad dude” who “ran a bunch of bad boys,” Biden told a rapt Democrat audience in 2017, forgetting that he’s now called “Grand Pop” by the grandson he won’t acknowledge.

One day, after Biden insulted Mr. Pop at the local pool, Corn and his straight razor and knife-wielding bad boy buddies told him to meet them outside. Biden took a long length of heavy chain, apparently a la Conan, to confront Corn Pop face to face — but then apologized, immediately defused the situation and eventually became BFF’s with that “bad dude,” for like, forever.

While visiting a Mack truck facility in July of 2021, Biden stated he “used to drive an 18-wheeler.” The White House staff quickly covered for “Poor Old” Joe by deftly showing a newspaper article around which indicated Biden once briefly caught a ride in an 18-wheeler back in 1973.

On a visit to Idaho in September of the same year, Biden indicated that his “first job offer” was from a lumber company called Boise Cascade. (“No joke,” he assured his audience, to a lengthy set of applause, cheers and guffaws.) The company said it had no record of his application.

The @theintercept explained that “…in 1987, Joe Biden claimed he marched in the civil rights movement,” then backed away from that wild attribution a few months later.  Decades later, during the Obama era, and more recently on the 2020 campaign trail, he started making the same nonsensical claims again with even greater embellishments.

Can we forget “Academic” Joe’s exclamation, “For four years, I was a full professor at the University of Pennsylvania?”  There Biden received more than $900,000 from U Penn for holding the position between 2017 and 2019, while the Red Chinese donated funds to the embarrassed school.  His post “involved no regular classes and around a dozen public appearances on campus, mostly in big, ticketed events,” said the Philadelphia Inquirer.  Joe was employed in a show and tell position for two years in academia and not the four teaching years he loves to brag about.

President Biden has also claimed several times that he was arrested in South Africa in the 1970s while attempting to call on the imprisoned Nelson Mandela. Joe would later clarify that he was merely “stopped” by police and could not “move…”  Meanwhile, Joe did spend much of the 1970’s inveighing against an America that could be energy independent and the Alaska pipeline in particular.

Joe Biden’s collegiate football exploits are also legendary.  “Football” Joe Biden fumbled a routine about his other arrest in a 2008 speech.  According to the former gridiron great, at a campaign stop in Athens, Ohio, he was arrested for sneaking into a woman’s dormitory, or was it a sauna bath, at The Ohio University when he was there as a U. of Delaware football player – the team he never played for.  TheBigLead in October of 2012, explained that Joe was a tireless flag football player when he wasn’t studying for his now debunked “triple major” folderol.

Throughout it all, we can rest assured that our Congressional delegation, to a person, will simply smile and nod at these assorted hijinx in unison with Dr. Jill, with nary a concern about the declining faculties of “Honest” Joe Biden or his deleterious impact on the citizens in NH.

Then, harking back to Joe’s incredible rise from a little known black-bencher toeing the Democrat Party line to Commander-in-Chief, where he toes, apparently, Barack Obama’s line, Joe and Dr. Jill visited the one and only “Mr Peanut” and Rosalind Carter on the Biden’s 100th day in the White House.  This photo of two Democrat giants and a lilliputian former president with absurdly large shoes in front of a large left-leaning picture was the painful result:

Photo: Carter Center

The Atlantic’s Mark Bowden described Joe in a 2010 profile of the VP: He “has the limber storyteller’s tendency to stretch.”  And stretch they did having had their photo taken with a wide angle lens inside, something seasoned shutter-bugs would never use, giving the incredible shrinking man effect to that man from Georgia, Jimmy Carter, whom Biden is besting in that rapid race to the bottom in every poll.

Why Did McConnell Refuse to Protect the Capitol on January 6?

Libertarian Leanings - Sat, 2022-04-30 09:19 +0000

Julie Kelly:  McConnell’s ‘Exhilarating’ Insurrection

A dirty little secret about January 6—one of many—is that Democrats and establishment Republicans, not Trump supporters, wanted to shut down the official proceedings of that day.

Just as the first wave of protesters breached the building shortly after 2 p.m., congressional Republicans were poised to present evidence of rampant voting fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Ten incumbent and four newly-elected Republican senators planned to work with their House colleagues to demand the formation of an audit commission to investigate election “irregularities” in the 2020 election. Absent an audit, the group of senators, including Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) pledged to reject the Electoral College results from the disputed states.

The Hail Mary effort was doomed to fail; yet the American people would have heard hours of debate related to provable election fraud over the course of the day.

And no one opposed the effort more than ex-Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.).

Criminal Presidency

Granite Grok - Sat, 2022-04-30 01:30 +0000

With this week’s announcement of the establishment of a “Disinformation Board” at the Department of Homeland Security, there is no question in my mind that the Biden Administration is a criminal enterprise.

Where in the Constitution or any subsequent laws assigns the Federal government the authority to determine what is disinformation, or regulate information in any fashion? In actuality, there is a very direct and explicit prohibition of the Federal government regulating speech. It’s called the First Amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

Fairly unambiguous, yes? “Abridging the freedom of speech”. Not this kind of speech, or that kind of speech. Just speech- no exceptions or qualifiers.

Biden and his staff have absolutely no basis in law for the regulation of anyone’s speech in this country, and this attempt is yet another egregious example of the Administration choosing to run roughshod over the laws of the United States and the Constitution. The mere attempt to stand up this committee is designed to maintain and increase political power- nothing more. Is it a coincidence that this announcement came right on the heels of the sale of Twitter to Elon Musk, who says he plans to restore free speech to the platform? It seems the political rationale here is to assign DHS the role formerly self-assumed by Twitter.

The appointment of Nina Jankowicz as the head of this board is another loud signal that this is nothing more than an attempt to impose censorship. I encourage you to research the vacuous “career” of this 33-year old proponent of silencing all viewpoints opposed to the Progressive Left. She was among the first to declare that Hunter Biden’s laptop scandal was a disinformation campaign in 2020. We all now know that scandal to be very, very true.

Speaking of Hunter’s laptop, now that it’s acknowledged as a true thing, why aren’t we seeing Biden being seriously taken to task by the Fourth Estate? Putting the disgusting content of Hunter Biden’s personal life to one side, there is more than enough documentation indicating that pay-to-play was the name of the game when Joe was VP, and the Biden Crime Family continues operations today while he’s president. I wonder how this would have played during the Trump, or any of the Bush presidencies?

The establishment of the DHS Ministry of Truth is but the latest illegal act by Biden and his Administration. Many watch in disbelief as our immigration laws are openly flouted on the southern border, allowing untold numbers of illegal aliens to enter America. Indeed, it’s been documented that this criminal enterprise transports illegal aliens across the country via air and ground in the dark of night, releasing them in cities far away from their port of entry..

We’ve been listening to Biden since he took office about the terrible plight of those who can’t pay their student loans, and how something must be done. Payment on these loans has been suspended multiple times, and there are indications that Biden may somehow forgive these loans via executive order. Where does a president get the authority to do this? I certainly can’t find any precedent or law supporting this- more pandering for political power is all I can see.

Instead of trying to support and protect the “81 million” voters that propelled him into the White House, Biden has allowed our economy to crater. Rampant inflation, negative GDP and reliance upon foreign energy are of no concern to the Progressive Left administration. Maintenance and expansion of the leftist agenda is all that matters.

I can only hope the Republicans take real actions after what is shaping up to be a historic repudiation of the Democrats and Progressive Left this November. If the actions of Biden and his minions over the last year don’t rise to the level of “high crimes and misdemeanors”, nothing does.

These are my thoughts. I encourage you to express yours.

Corporate Media Admits People Treated with Paxlovid Keep Getting COVID!

Granite Grok - Sat, 2022-04-30 00:00 +0000

NBC has broken the fourth wall and almost reported a truth – probably to get ahead of the lie. Pfizer’s Paxlovid reduces symptoms, but you never get rid of the virus. People taking it are just finding out.

Get Treated with Paxlovid – Keep Getting COVID! (Put it on a bumper sticker.)

Pfizer’s antiviral pills are highly effective at keeping people with Covid out of the hospital, but there are growing reports that, in rare cases, patients treated for the coronavirus with Paxlovid can experience a second round of the disease shortly after recovering.

But this isn’t news to our readers, right, Ted?

It turns out that Paxlovid reduces symptoms, and maybe reduces viral load at day 5, but at the same time it does not clear the virus! Not only that, but the patients cannot clear it for extended periods AFTER Paxlovid administration is over.

If you got the vaccinezzzzzz, the odds are good that you are more susceptible to flu, and COVID specifically. Their cure for that is Paxlovid, which – like the vaccine – is credited with reducing symptoms, but that’s all it appears to do. At $895.00, a pill that’s a lot of money for an emergency use drug that does very little. You can “clear” mild flu symptoms with OTC meds, vitamin D, Vitamin C, and Zinc for a few bucks.

Even if you got Jabbed, those would likely do you better.

And Ivermectin is a lot better for most folks when begun early and dirt cheap by comparison. It also has antiviral properties and millions of safe, effective doses under its belt.

And Paxlovid? It’s from the same people who lied about the COVID19 vaccines.

With mostly just anecdotal reports coming out, questions remain as to whether people whose Covid symptoms return shortly after they take Paxlovid are contagious and should keep isolating to avoid passing the virus to others.

For those who do experience a second round of symptoms, the sudden shift can also leave them anxious about whether they should seek further treatment.

Given the trajectory of Pfizer Emergency Use treatments for COVID to date, the efficacy will continue to decline while we get garbage like this from people who know better.

“There’s still so much we don’t know about Covid-19 and the best way to treat it,” said Dr. H. Clifford Lane, deputy director for clinical research and special projects at the National Institute for Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “These anecdotes give us reason to re-examine duration of therapy, approaches to therapy, other laboratory tests we might use to predict who could benefit from longer courses of treatment.”

I’ve read dozens of studies by people who know how to treat it, yet you still don’t know?

Here’s a prediction. Many more people will get fooled into taking another expensive emergency use authorized Pfizer COVID treatment. The results will be contrary to the marketing and media air-cover. And more people will eventually die unnecessarily.

Once young, healthy people, who had nothing to fear from COVID, who don’t die, will become chronically flu-impaired until they reach an age where it kills them. This is just an opinion based on what we’ve seen over the past two years.

And that’s the pandemic.

It is a man-caused disaster whose cure is to change the government and the public health sector’s accumulation of patents and their cozy relationship with drug makers and the elected officials and political class that rules or enables them.

A tall order, but we have to keep trying because the alternatives are all unpleasant.

Jen Psaki is Leaving the White House for a Job Better Suited to Her Talents…MSNBC

Granite Grok - Fri, 2022-04-29 22:30 +0000

Sometime before the Mid-Term elections, and probably before June of this year, Jen ‘Circle Back’ Psaki won’t be circling back anymore. She’s moving on and not looking back. But her new job is the same but at MSNBC.

Instead of fielding softballs from the White House steno-pool (with a few rare exceptions), she’ll be carrying the party water at MSNBC.

White House Press Secretary Jenn Psaki will be leaving her position “in the weeks ahead” as will “several other members of the White House press team” sources told Reuters. Psaki will be joining MSNBC. Fox News reports that it’s “fairly standard” for top White House officials to warn staff long before midterm presidential elections that they should either depart their jobs in plenty of time prior to, or stay on through the election.

There’s a storm coming. We need to see the horses loose and let them run or they’ll be swept up, tossed, and broken.

I know, rats fleeing the ship is a better metaphor. And flee they have. Democrats in Congress are also moving on, which makes folks like Sandy Cortez giddy. It’s her dream to replace moderate Democrats with actual Marxists, moderate meaning the difference between almost authoritarians and the real thing – and look, Mao, no Primary!

How well those sorts of candidates might do depends on the district, and the math does not favor any Democrat, which is why the seat-warmers and pulling up stakes for a safe job as a lobbyist. The pay is better, and you don’t have to pretend to listen to voters.

As for West-Wing departures, now loading at Gate 5, the ritual cleansing is actually common. Trump was constantly cleaning House, though his circumstances were different. His ship was full of rats, and he was working out who he could trust and who had to go. A process that continued right up to the very end when Mike Pence raised his hand and showed to whom he was beholden.

The same people to whom Biden and Democrats answer. The Swamp!

So, in Biden’s White House, it’s more like changing your undies, except the “new” pair gets picked up off the floor with the rest of the dirty laundry.

And we’re supposed to pretend – to quote DNC Chair Jamie Harrison – that these transitions are “helping us continue to build on our successes and deliver our message as we head into the midterm elections.”

Yes, because if there’s one thing you can count on when you have a “successful” Leftist in power, it’s defections.

MAGA Is Ascendant And The Establishment Republican Party Needs To Die

Granite Grok - Fri, 2022-04-29 21:00 +0000

Our piece isn’t about Disney. But I will use Disney as an example. It’s about what I’ll refer to as Conservative Inc., and I don’t mean the Ben Shapiro, Charlie Kirk version of conservatism.

I’m using the term to refer to the big government, establishment Republicans. The guys that call themselves the Bulwark. The Never Trumpers who assure us they are the conscience of conservatism. The folks who called the Tea Party “wacko birds” and consider MAGA supporters to be a bunch of unhinged hooligans.

When I use the term Conservative Inc., I mean the guys who go on cruises. The ones who pat themselves on the back for talking down to “republicans” who expect more than tax cuts from conservatives.

In short, it’s the people that have made a business out of calling themselves conservatives while at the same time enabling leftists to run roughshod over our country.

First, way back in 1967, Florida established the Reedy Creek Improvement District for the Disney Corporation for some background information. It exempted Disney from a great deal of state and local government oversight and taxation. It was a crony capitalist deal, if there ever was one.

Now fast forward to 2022. The Disney Corporation has decided to fight against Florida’s juvenile anti-sexual grooming bill. The company even piled on by announcing that it would be adding LGBTQ themes to its children’s programming.

Florida took the fight to the next level. It passed the anti-grooming law and then gut-punched Disney by revoking the Reedy Creek Improvement District.

And now, Conservative Inc. Republicans are having an attack of the vapors. Charles C.W. Cooke of National Review wrote:

This escalation represents an ugly and ill-conceived mistake, a blemish on DeSantis’s otherwise mostly excellent gubernatorial record.

Brad Palumbo of National Review and Hannah Cox of the Foundation for Economic Education wrote:

Ayn Rand once said, “The difference between a welfare state and a totalitarian state is a matter of time.”

The implication is that Florida is becoming a totalitarian state for going all “shock and awe” on Disney.

The consensus among Conservative Inc. seems to be that Florida got its anti-grooming bill passed. It should go back to business as usual. Let bygones be bygones. Don’t let this little spat get in the way of business. No spiking the ball; walk across the field, shake hands with the losing team, and commend them for a good game. What complete crap.

Clearly, Conservative Inc. doesn’t understand what crony capitalism is. According to the Oxford Languages dictionary, crony capitalism is

an economic system characterized by close, mutually advantageous relationships between business leaders and government officials.

Disney forgot the “mutually advantageous” part of the arrangement. It broke the deal when it went to war with its “close relationship” partner. Disney Corporation breached the deal, so Florida canceled it altogether – as it should.

Anyone who has read Atlas Shrugged knows that Rand believed crony capitalism would end our society as we know it. But the book is over a thousand pages long, written at a twelfth-grade level. Maybe Brad and Hannah haven’t read it.

But my response to Charles, Brad, and Hannah is a bit different than Ayn Rand’s response would likely be. My reaction is: Are you freaking kidding me? A company with unique access to children advocates the sexual grooming of 5-year-olds! And these morally bankrupt fools are disturbed by Ron DeSantis’ actions?

What Disney is doing is an outright attack on our children. I would advocate it being closed down and shuttered by any legal means available.

Bastions of the Bulwark, like Bill Kristol, are totally fine with judging Trump guilty of inciting insurrection for asking people to protest the election peacefully. By that rationale, Disney is guilty of inciting child abuse. And yet the advice from Conservative Inc. is to leave Disney alone. Don’t let a little thing like sexualizing children get in the way of business – oh, and sign up for one of their cruises so they can lecture us about what real conservatism is.

That pretty much sums up why the old guard of the Republican party is dying, and MAGA is ascendant. They’re willing to choose business over morality. In their eyes, the souls of our children and countrymen are secondary to that pursuit. They are morally bankrupt.

Real Conservatives want more. We want our liberties protected. We want our values defended. And we want our leaders held accountable, whether political, governmental, business, religious, or social.

NH Senate: Looking Out for the CDC and NOT YOUR CHILDREN!

Granite Grok - Fri, 2022-04-29 19:30 +0000

When there is any kind of research done on children, ethical guidelines require the researchers to obtain informed consent from the parent or guardian.

In NH, researchers have obtained informed consent from parents when school administrators gather sensitive data on children in public schools.

Informed Consent

Obtaining consent from parents/carers and children is central to the research relationship and signals respect for the research participant’s dignity, their capability to express their views and their right to have these heard in matters that affect them. Informed consent is an explicit agreement which requires participants to be informed about, and have an understanding of, the research. This must be given voluntarily and be renegotiable, so that children may withdraw at any stage of the research process.

Several years ago parental rights advocates lobbied to change New Hampshire law so that when vendors collected highly sensitive data on children via a non-academic survey, they needed informed consent from parents. This is what Federal Law requires in the PPRA Protection of Pupil Rights Amendment.

At that time, the Department of Health and Human Services lobbied to EXEMPT the CDC’s Youth Risk Behavior Survey (YRBS) from that ethical requirement. That meant that the YRBS was OUT OF COMPLIANCE with basic ethical guidelines when conducting research on YOUR children.

This year Rep. Ralph Boehm filed legislation to remove the YRBS as being exempt from parental consent. (HB1639)

HB1639  passed the New Hampshire House and then was sent to the Senate Education Committee where they amended HB1639 to remove the important provision that would require informed consent from parents. In other words, they completely gutted this important legislation that protects the privacy RIGHTS of your children.

CDC MAY WIN IN NH: BUT YOUR CHILDREN WILL LOSE

In addition to removing this important provision, they are also removing the reference to the CDC!!  This is outrageous. Why don’t they want you to know that the YRBS is a CDC survey? They want to SCRUB this information from the law.  Read their proposed amendment here. They strike out “Centers for Disease Control and Prevention” from the current law. Why don’t they want you to know that the YRBS is developed by the CDC?

The Senate Ed Committee listened to testimony but then changed the proposed legislation back to the original language that exempts the YRBS from requiring informed consent from parents.  They also propose removing any reference to the CDC in the law. What they have done is make the law worse for parents instead of better.  The CDC must be thrilled with this amendment, but parental rights advocates are NOT.

If the New Hampshire senate votes for this amendment, it will mean that the CDC – YRBS survey is still NOT IN COMPLIANCE with basic ethical guidelines when it is given to YOUR CHILDREN in public schools.

You can read testimony sent to legislators by Dr. Mark B. Constaintain. He spells out how to conduct this kind of research on children here.

Those who object to informed consent by parents want to keep parents in the dark when these surveys are given to children. They explained at the hearing that if enough parents refuse this survey for their children, they might not receive grant funding. That means that they are prioritizing $$$ MONEY over your child’s privacy rights.

Your child cannot take a Tylenol or attend a field trip without consent from their parents or guardians. But if they ask children to hand over all kinds of sensitive and personal information on themselves and their families, they don’t want parents to consent.

Contact your senators and let them know that they are continuing to allow schools to EXPLOIT your child in school. http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/bill_status/billinfo.aspx?id=1538&inflect=2

FIND YOUR SENATOR HERE: http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/senate/members/wml.aspx

They need to reject the Senate Amendment on HB1639 and Pass the House version that requires informed consent before your child takes a non-academic YRBS survey FROM THE CDC.

Did you know that there are questions about illegal drug activity on this survey ? Which means your child gives up their 5th amendment rights because they aren’t even away that they have 5th amendment rights?
Did you know that kids have learned how to use drugs by taking these surveys? Parents have reported that their kids learned to sniff glue to get high by taking these surveys?
Parents also reported that in Hollis, they never received notification that their children took this survey?
Did you know that there are tracking questions on the survey?|
Did you know that they can ask your child about guns in the home, their gender identity, drug usage, sexual behavior? And you may never know.

THIS CDC Survey does not require informed consent from parents. That’s WRONG.

Tell the New Hampshire Senators that your child should NOT be exploited !

There is No Reason to Forgive Student Loans

Granite Grok - Fri, 2022-04-29 18:00 +0000

Please give me one good reason: forty-plus million American students should have their education debt forgiven. For decades, bright-eyed students have matriculated from high school onto colleges and universities, thinking they were preparing themselves for a life of prosperity.

They went to community and state colleges with low tuitions and fees or Ivy League institutes with exorbitant annual tuitions and fees. That was their choice based on the investment they wanted to make in their future.

These young people took out Student Loans to fund their quest for a fulfilling future. They took the money and invested in themselves with dreams of a good life. Whichever path they took, either the $20K or $75K a year, these students signed on the bottom line that they would be responsible for their education debt.

Whether it was poor planning or counseling, many of these students achieved degrees in subjects that did not give them the opportunities and rewards they had envisioned. They were left with a sizable debt and insufficient income to pay it back. They felt deceived by the system and wanted relief. In reality, they wanted the debt to disappear.

Then came the Pandemic. Money is flowing out of Washington in the name of COVID Relief. What does that mean? Free rent, mortgage forgiveness, unlimited funds to replace lost wages, or simply money to bridge life from lock-down to normal. There was no limit to the money Washington would print to ease the pain of a Global Pandemic. The spoiled and entitled young generation seized the opportunity to put their hand out and say me too, please. Actually, they did not say please.

The students are getting support in their mission to have the taxpayers absorb their debt from politicians like Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Elizabeth Warren. These three represent the Socialist thinking, which believes that every student should receive a free college education. Sanders and Warren have been promoting state-funded college education for some time as part of their campaign. Free to the student but paid for by taxpayers.

This campaign platform has made them very popular with the young and helped secure their support and vote. AOC is just a symbol of a younger generation that feels that the government should pay for everything in life. She does not understand that the government does not have money. It has the people’s money. That is not her concern.

Along with no justification for forgiving this debt, there is the exorbitant cost of doing so. It is estimated that the cost to taxpayers would be $1.5 Trillion, or approximately $13,000 per taxpayer. Over 45% of these taxpayers never went to college, and of the others, they paid for their education and student loans. There was no free ride for these millions of people who are now told they should pay for someone else’s ride.

Joe Biden is contemplating this debt forgiveness be achieved by Executive Order. He knows it will never pass through Congress, and he made this promise during his campaign. Biden wants to free these students of their debt and pass it on to every other American with the simple stroke of his pen. He hopes to secure their vote. But he is also paving the way for a free college education for all in the future.

This effort by Biden and the Progressives is ethically not fair to Americans who have already funded their education. We can not afford this burden now or in the future. Biden plans to decide and act on it before the mid-terms. He sees this as a way to secure votes for all Democrats, but he must be stopped. Before the ink dries on his Executive Order, the Republicans have to have a Judge ready to shut it down.

Hey, NH! – Tennessee Just Passed a Law Allowing the Dispensing of Ivermectin Without a Prescription

Granite Grok - Fri, 2022-04-29 16:30 +0000

NH House Bill 1022 would permit pharmacists to dispense the drug ivermectin by means of a standing order, making Ivermectin available to the public without a prescription. Last week, Tennessee passed a law similar to the one proposed in NH.

Tennessee Governor Bill Lee signed a bill on Apr. 22, 2022, allowing Ivermectin to be dispensed without a prescription. The new law states, “a pharmacist, in good faith, may provide Ivermectin to a patient who is eighteen (18) years of age or older pursuant to a valid collaborative pharmacy practice agreement containing a non-patient-specific prescriptive order and standardized procedures developed and executed by one (1) or more authorized prescribers.”

The New Hampshire bill has already passed the House, and a Senate Committee advanced it for a floor vote with a recommendation to pass the bill.

There are differences, but the result is the same. People who want Ivermectin can go and get it. And as with the Tennessee Bill, pharmacists are afforded protections except for obvious negligence.

“A pharmacist or prescriber involved in the provision of Ivermectin pursuant to this section is immune from civil liability in the absence of gross negligence or willful misconduct for actions authorized by this section.”

Most of the New Hampshire Bill outlines protections from liabilities for Doctors, Nurses, Nurse practitioners, and Pharmacists. HB1022 also allows a pharmacy to charge a fee for consultation but prohibits anyone in the food chain “from seeking personal financial benefit by participating in any incentive-based program or accepting any inducement that influences or encourages
therapeutic or product changes or the ordering of tests or services.”

You can listen to my interview with one of the prime sponsors of NH HB1022 here.

We’ve got several resources available to fight the disinformation coming from the left about Ivermectin.

  • Dr. Paul Merik’s testimony before the NH House.
  • “Ivermectin Story Here”
  • “Ivermectin The Hidden Story, Here!”
  • Peer-Reviewed: Ivermectin Resulted in a 67% Reduction in COVID Hospitalization and a 70% Reduction in COVID Mortality

The NH Bill is (I believe) due for a vote in the Republican majority State Senate next week.

Fusion GPS Peddled Russia Collusion Lies Then Hired Steele to Put Them in a Dossier.

Libertarian Leanings - Fri, 2022-04-29 16:25 +0000

Margot Cleveland:  Emails Surface More Evidence Hillary Clinton Paid For Anti-Trump Disinformation Operation

The law firm of Perkins Coie first hired Fusion GPS in April 2016 to conduct opposition research on Trump on behalf of the Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee. But Fusion GPS did not retain Steele until June 2016, with Steele’s initial memorandum being first dated June 20, 2016. By then, however, Fusion GPS had already targeted Page and highlighted Alfa Bank as suspect. Fusion GPS’s communications with the press pre-Steele also focused on Page’s role as an advisor for the Trump campaign and various connections to Alfa Bank.

Steele’s dossier would later seemingly confirm Fusion GPS’s framing of Page as a Russian agent based on the numerous lies Steele’s “primary sub-source,” Igor Danchenko, fed the former MI6 agent. Among his other lies, Danchenko, who is currently under indictment for making false statements to the FBI, falsely claimed that Millian had provided detailed intel related to the Trump campaign and Page.

[...]

No wonder Fusion GPS paid Steele. They needed his credential as an MI6 agent to provide gravitas to their opposition research and to hide the Clinton-campaign roots of the attacks on Trump. The Clinton campaign also needed Steele to exploit his government contacts, which the former spy did by passing the dossier off to his handler, his pal Bruce Ohr, and later the U.S. State Department. Steele thus served as a facade for Democrats’ attempt to frame Trump as a Russian patsy.

4 Tips for Choosing a College Laptop

Granite Grok - Fri, 2022-04-29 15:28 +0000

Being a student is hard.

Studies are extensive, and money is tight. Things can get even worse if your laptop or computer dies without cause.

Assuming you have all of your work off it, you may need to start promptly looking for another laptop. This is easier said than done. Many students cannot afford to buy brand-new laptops, meaning it can be very limiting and hard to find what you need to succeed.

Here are some of the things you need to consider when buying a laptop for your studies.

First hand or refurbished?

Most students don’t have the means to go out and buy a brand-new laptop. So, you may be limited in what you have immediate access to.

For many, this will mean looking for a second-hand or refurbished option. If you do opt for a second-hand laptop, ask as many questions as you can about the machine. Ask to test it out or see a video demo of it in action. If you decide first hand is better, there are many affordable choices, such as Lenovo college laptops. Just make sure the machine you buy has what you need to perform your studies.

Studies

This leads on to this point.

If you are studying computer science, you are going to need something that is a bit more specialized, especially when compared to a standard laptop.

So, when buying a laptop, always ensure that it can do what you need it to. Otherwise, you may end up out of pocket for a machine that is, in essence, useless. Unsure where to begin when choosing a specialized machine? Ask your professors for advice. They will know what programs you need in order to complete the course. Alternatively, why not ask your classmates about the machines that they are using?

Cost

Money is always going to be a major factor when purchasing computers.

While it can be tempting to spend all of your student loans on a laptop, don’t!

Work out how much you can realistically spend on a machine without having to cut out meals etc.

This will ensure that your health and wellbeing are not affected due to this purchase. Buying second-hand can always be useful when you are looking to save money. But there are also many first-hand options that may be affordable too. As always, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is! So, keep your wits about you when handing over money for a laptop.

Battery life

It is one of the failings of many second-hand or refurbished machines. The battery life simply doesn’t last as long as it should. It is also one of the main reasons why machines are sold in the first place! You do not want to be tethered to the wall because your laptop cannot hold a charge. Always ask for a demo when purchasing a second-hand device, or ask for a video if it is being sent to you from a seller on sites like eBay.

Mayorkas, This is control, Define Chaos

Granite Grok - Fri, 2022-04-29 15:00 +0000

When did leaders become so weak? When did it become okay to pass the buck rather than owning the moment and solving a problem? When did it become acceptable to lie when in front of Congress?

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Nicholas Mayorkas is glad that all of these acts are considered getting the job done.

I have written for a year and a half about the hapless staff that Joe Biden put together, but Mayorkas may be the cream of the crop. It is difficult to believe that these members of the Biden administration can collectively be so incompetent. The only other option is they are not incompetent but were assembled to dismantle this country. If the latter is the case, Mayorkas is the runaway MVP.

Mayorkas is responsible for destroying the Sovereignty of our country by eliminating the Southern Border. He has effectively made us a borderless geographical body of land open to anyone worldwide. All these “migrants,” as Mayorkas calls them, need to do is cross the Rio Grande, hop on a bus or plane, and be tNewaken to your destination of choice.

We have no idea where these people are from or their history or medical condition. That is not important to our current administration. They are transported under cover of night with the help of NGOs like the Catholic Church. The receiving city is rarely informed of the incoming new residents but is responsible for their well being. All 48 contiguous states are now border states.

Mayorkas is before Congress this week to testify on the conditions of the Border. Remember that neither Biden nor Harris have ever been to the Mexican Border. Mayorkas has visited multiple times. On his last visit, he faced angry comments from Border Guards, frustrated with his handling of the crisis. Mayorkas sees no crisis. In his mind, this unrelenting flow of migrants is under control. If that is the case, Mr. Secretary, please define chaos.

Mayorkas contends that this administration and his department inherited a broken system and that only Congress can solve it. If that is the case, what is his role, and why do we need a Department of Homeland Security? He does fit in perfectly with this finger-pointing team. Nothing is their fault, and it is always somebody else’s when they fail to correct it.

Mayorkas was grilled about Title 42. He favors the end of the program but again puts all responsibility on the CDC. The claim is that 42 was a health-related measure and did nothing to control the flow of illegal immigrants. Why does the administration project that the flow will double when 42 is stopped if that is the case?

This administration is a study in contradictions. They say things and then walk them back. They lie and then have the media support the lie. They accept no responsibility but pat themselves on the back when things go well, which is rare. To them, well is two million undocumented illegal aliens, enough fentanyl to kill us all, an untold number of terrorists and gang members, and don’t forget the illegal weapons. Maybe this is something Secretary Mayorkas will take credit for and then resign.

The Wrong Tycoon is In Charge

Libertarian Leanings - Fri, 2022-04-29 14:46 +0000

TK News by Matt Taibbi:  Savor the Great Musk Panic

The hypocrisy of America’s self-appointed culture-protectors this week is breathtaking. They really seem not to realize that what they’ve been seeking for years isn’t an end to speech abuses, but a monopoly on them. They see Musk as a traitor to his class, threatening to upend what they see as a natural order that in recent years placed bluenose squads in deserved roles as vanguards and truth-arbiters. Whether or not Musk ever upends anything is a different question, but critics believe he will, and now they’re panicking, in tones of maximum sanctimony. They’re even pulling out “Who will protect the children?”-style language...

I spent a good part of the last four years warning that asking unaccountable billionaires to meddle more in speech would result in exactly such a table-turning episode, in which the political mainstream’s cocky censor squad would wake up one day to find the wrong tycoon in charge, at which point they would cry foul and howl suddenly about the evils of oligarchy. For failing to cheer their vision of enlightened censorship, colleagues denounced me as a reactionary pervert in the employ of (pick one) Trump/Assad/Putin. So it’s hard to do anything but chuckle at their anguish this week.

Champions of Free Speech in Action

Libertarian Leanings - Fri, 2022-04-29 14:38 +0000

Mark Tapscott, Epoch Times:  Nonprofit Pushing Jan. 6 Ballot Disqualifications Is Funded, Led by Left-Wing Activists

Just minutes after Donald Trump was sworn in as president in January 2017, Free Speech for People (PFS), working with RootsAction, another obscure left-wing activist group, launched the website ImpeachDonaldTrumpNow.org.

The Trump impeachment website remains live today, but PFS has moved on from years of seeking to drive the embattled Trump from the Oval Office to now trying to remove four of his strongest congressional supporters from their respective November 2022 ballots.

Although officially a nonpartisan educational nonprofit, PFS’s most notable activities since being organized in the wake of the Supreme Court’s 2010 Citizens United decision have all been directed at Trump and other Republicans.

Most recently, PFS made headlines with litigation it filed against four House Republicans and one Arizona Republican state representative seeking to have state courts remove the officials’ names from the November ballot.

An Arizona Superior Court judge rejected PFS’s request to remove U.S. Reps. Andy Biggs and Paul Gosar, both Arizona congressmen, and Arizona state Rep. Mark Finchem from the November ballot. The PFS lawsuit stated that the lawmakers’ alleged efforts in support of the January 2021 breach of the U.S. Capitol amounted to participation in an insurrection seeking to bring down the federal government.

Assisted Suicide is Now Available in Vermont after a Zoom Call with Dr. Death

Granite Grok - Fri, 2022-04-29 13:30 +0000

If you qualify as terminally ill (a definition that can change in a heartbeat – life is a terminal condition), Vermont has made it easier to obtain physician-assisted suicide drugs!

Listen on the Podcast Page

You can also listen on Spreaker, iHeart Radio, Spotify, or Google Podcasts.

S.74  “proposes to eliminate a requirement in Vermont’s patient choice at end of life laws that both oral requests required of the patient with a terminal condition for medication to be self-administered to hasten the patient’s death must have been made in the physical presence of the physician to whom the patient made the request.”

And so it has – passed by the legislature and signed by Gov. Scott (r), you can now use Zoom or any equivalent form of telemedicine to request drugs to end your life without ever meeting with the doctor prescribing death.

a) A physician shall not be subject to any civil or criminal liability or professional disciplinary action if the physician prescribes to a patient with a terminal condition medication to be self-administered for the purpose of hastening the patient’s death and the physician affirms by documenting in the patient’s medical record that all of the following occurred:

(1) The patient made an oral request to the physician in the physician’s physical presence or by telemedicine, …

There is a 15-day waiting period before the drugs get shipped, so you could, in theory, get a handgun sooner if you’re itching to be on your way (Vermont has not yet passed a proposed 30-day waiting period for handguns hiding inside S30 “An act relating to prohibiting possession of firearms within hospital buildings.”)

You are, of course, free to end your life by any other means, and I only bring up the handgun thing because people will say it’s an awful thing to write. Last I checked, chemically executing people in prison is a horrible thing, but in Vermont, you can Zoom Dr. Death and in about two weeks get the “drugs” necessary to “ease your passing.”

There are no protests or requests to the governor for a stay or call from a judge.

And it’s the same people on both sides of that issue. But if death by lethal injection is so bad, how about a zoom call from death row with a doctor, and boom, Get er Done!

Because, silly, Democrats like criminals more than you. And as far as they are concerned, felons are less of a burden than the terminally ill (especially after you let them out of jail). They are also useful. Criminals commit crimes, and you can shoot them in public when they wear out their usefulness. But before that, they destabilize the ordered, and predictable lives of a Middle-Class Progressives despise.

Comfort, when it comes to dying, is acceptable, but living? There’s no room in utopia for you to be comfortable.

That sort of Government can’t afford it. And, if they happen to have assisted suicide as an option, you might – one day – be ‘diagnosed’ with a terminal illness (by the same doctor who tried to kill you with a ventilator and Remdesivir) and encouraged to end their your suffering.

Heck, why wait? You can go to Oregon right now and die sooner. They passed suicide tourism just this year.

And not long from now, you’ll be able to Zoom or Skype or Facetime Oregon and get the death meds without traveling.

The assisted suicide lobby wants to approve out-of-state-assisted suicide requests via telehealth and to send the lethal drugs by mail to the out-of-state requestor.

Amazon Prime members get them in just two days!

If you think for one moment this isn’t going to happen and then become federal law, either by an act of congress or a Roe v. Wade like SCOTUS decision, you’ve not been paying enough attention.

They want it, and how hard has that been looking back for them to get what they want? Not very. There are a few bumps in the road here and there, a few years, delays, but it happens in the end.

I mean, technically, we already have this with the open border and rampant opioid overdose deaths. It’s government security policy assisted suicide. A few more words and only technically illegal – you have to get caught.

But imagine a government program run by eugenicists forever seeking ways to cull the masses. It will not only be poorly regulated but become an approved method of political assassination.

Can you see the smiles on the faces of the Clinton Crime Family and the FBI (if and where you can separate them)? No more accidents or messy “suicides.” From now on, anyone who knows anything and is a risk will become ill, get telemedicine, and kill themselves with dignity, and at this point, what difference does it make.

You know I’m right, but who’s prepared to step up and stop it before it gets that far? Better yet, who can?

I Have Two Simple Questions for Our Congressional “Leaders”

Granite Grok - Fri, 2022-04-29 12:00 +0000

I have two simple questions for our Congressional “Leaders.” Do you believe the lies that Secretary Mayorkas spewed today alleging that our southern border is secure?

And, do you support the President’s proposal to have US taxpayers fund an unlimited piggy bank for Ukraine?

Please keep in mind these FACTS:

Under this administration, millions of unvetted illegals, drugs, criminals, terrorists, trafficked adults, and children have broken into our country, with impunity.

We want to thank Michael Petruzziello for this Op-Ed.
Please direct yours to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.

Under this administration, our border is no longer secure, and our sovereignty as a country is at risk.

Our GDP is declining, while congress continues to spend money we don’t have.

You refuse to complete the paid-for US border wall, but you are allocating unlimited funds to a foreign country, so they can defend their border and maintain their sovereignty.

You were not elected to open our borders to the world.

You were not elected to serve and protect the population of the world while bankrupting our country.

You were elected to serve and protect the American people, period.

Please, DO YOUR JOB!

Sincerely,

Michael Petruzziello
Major, USMC (Ret)
