For Pramila Jayapal, Rape Is A Tool Of The Military

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-12-05 23:30 +0000

Pramila Jayapal is a Member of Congress from the State of Washington and is known for comments that should roll the eyes of even the most Radical of the Left Wing of the Democrat Party.

Every time she speaks, she curdles the coffee of every member of the Republican Party, and I might say, any person with morals higher than a member of Hamas. That is the lowest of the bars. The latest bizarre comments from Jayapal came on Sunday morning when she appeared on CNN’s State of the Union. Jayapal got heated when Host, Dana Bash, pushed back on a response to a question about the rape of Israeli women and children by the savages of Hamas on October 7.

From the Jewish News Syndicate:

Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-Wash.) twice hedged her condemnations of Hamas terrorists raping Israeli women during an interview on Sunday with Dana Bash of the CNN program State of the Union.

“The rape, of course, but I think we have to remember that Israel is a democracy. That is why they are a strong ally of ours, and if they do not comply with international humanitarian law, they are bringing themselves to a place that makes it much more difficult strategically for them to be able to build the kinds of allies to keep public opinion with them,” Jayapal said.

When Bash noted that Jayapal, chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, answered a question about the rape of Israeli women by condemning Israel broadly, the congresswoman said, “I already answered your question, Dana.”

Instead of deploying the conjunction “but” as she had previously, Jayapal used the conjunctive adverb “however” this time.

“I said it’s horrific, and I think that rape is horrific. Sexual assault is horrific. I think that it happens in war situations. Terrorist organizations like Hamas obviously are using these as tools, however I think we have to be balanced about bringing in the outrages against Palestinians,” she said.

Jayapal—who called Israel a “racist state” in July and then seemed to apologize before doubling down a few days later—told Bash that Israeli forces have killed 15,000 Palestinians, “three quarters of whom are women.”

Bash called that “horrible” without questioning the source of the numbers. But the CNN host told Jayapal that Israeli soldiers don’t rape Palestinian women.

“I don’t want this to be the hierarchy of oppression,” Jayapal said.

Bash noted that “It’s kind of remarkable that this issue hasn’t gotten enough attention globally—widespread use of rape, brutal rape, sexual violence against Israeli women by Hamas.”

“I’ve seen a lot of progressive women, generally speaking—they’re quick to defend women’s rights and speak out against using rape as a weapon of war, but downright silent on what we saw on October 7,” she added, “and what might be happening inside Gaza right now to these hostages.”

In response to Bash’s comment that the Israel Defense Forces doesn’t rape Palestinian women, Jayapal said, “Frankly, morally, I think we cannot say that one war crime deserves another. That is not what international humanitarian law says,” the congresswoman said. “We have been allowing Israel to literally indiscriminately bomb hospitals, violate international humanitarian law.”

Even when pressed, Jayapal could not bring herself to condemn outright the rape of Israeli women and children by Hamas terrorists. She finds it horrific but equates it to Israel killing civilians in Gaza. She says we have to look at these rapes “in the balance” of war. She claims to be concerned with women’s rights and conditions, but she is not even concerned with the rape of Palestinian women by the Hamas goons.

Sheryl Sandburg said it best when addressing the United Nations on Monday, “There are no circumstances that justify rape. And that is why the silence on Hamas’ war crimes against Israeli women and children is so dangerous.” She is absolutely correct. This should be the easiest decision one could make to condemn Hamas outright. There is no balance or equivocation necessary.

But the Radical Left cannot find it in themselves to say the words. Antisemitism is at the core of this group of Democrats, and if their fellow constituents cannot quickly condemn it, then we have no choice but to hold them complicit. Let’s see who stands up and says no to Jayapal and who stands behind her in silent support.

Should the White House Be an Assisted Living Facility?

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-12-05 22:00 +0000

Anyone paying any attention to the news knows Mr. Biden has seen better days.  Now, it’s not just gaffes anymore.  We progressed to hot mic moments.  Now it’s just plain sad.  The man can barely walk without falling down or tripping.  He confuses people and places all of the time. He even has trouble working from a teleprompter.

One GOP Congressman, Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX),thinks Mr. Biden is living in the equivalent of an assisted living facility.

Jackson is a retired US Navy rear admiral and worked as a physician in the White House under Presidents George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump.  He expressed his alarm to Sean Hannity, calling the president’s cognitive impairment “an embarrassment,” “scary,” and “dangerous.” In the Hannity interview, Congressman Jackson says the President’s “cognitive decline” is no longer a mystery.

“It’s no longer breaking news when I tell the American people that there is something wrong with Joe Biden. Everyone can see that now. It’s not in question anymore. It’s what are the Democrats going to do about it?”

“The natural course of any of these illnesses, I don’t know if it’s Alzheimer’s, dementia, or multi-infarct dementia. I’m not making a diagnosis, but I’m saying he has a cognitive issue related to his age. The natural course of all these illnesses is that they get worse with time. They don’t get better.”

“The White House is nothing more than an assisted living facility right now…”

“We have big issues right now that this country needs to be dealing with, and we need a commander in chief, and we need a head of state that’s cognitively and physically fit to do the job, and this man is absolutely not…”

“The Democrats are in damage control right now. They are frantic. They realize that they have made this mistake. They put this man in office and expected him to be our president for four years, and he’s not going to make it four years, I don’t think…”

We have a solution for an incapacitated president. It is the 25th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. If the people in the cabinet cannot see what is going on, what does that say about their judgment?

If they lack the fortitude to act responsibly, what does it say about their integrity?  Will it affect the way you vote?  Are you part of the problem or part of the solution? Should the White House be an assisted living facility?

Could This Unravel the January 6 Committee’s Conclusions?

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-12-05 20:30 +0000

I just happened to stumble upon this video on Twitter, and it’s not your typical cat meme.

The video captures the unsettling scene of police hurling not one, not two, but three concussion grenades into an apparently peaceful crowd at the Capitol on January 6.

In this eye-opening footage, the peaceful atmosphere is shattered by the deafening blasts of concussion grenades.

It made me wonder, “Why hasn’t this been shown?”

It’s the kind of reality check that sends shivers down your spine. But here’s the kicker: the January 6 Committee, the supposed guardians of truth in the aftermath of the Capitol insurrection, has kept this video, and probably, many others, under wraps.

The Jan. 6, 2021, narrative was that the Capitol had seemingly turned into a battlefield, and the January 6 Committee was assigned to untangle the mess left after the insurrection.

How are we to make any sense of it all, with this video, a piece of the puzzle, showing police tossing concussion grenades into what looks like a peaceful crowd? But why did the January 6 Committee keep this nugget from us?

Lack of evidence – is that we are to understand? Because that’s the committee’s first line of defense. They’re on a mission to decipher what happened that fateful day, not a sideshow of unrelated incidents.

Fair enough, but how about this video and probably several others we haven’t seen to provide a sneak peek into the broader story? Did they leave stones unturned?

We can understand if the committee has to walk a tightrope, juggling legal standards and ethical norms. But this isn’t just any video – it clearly shows the police force, and this video, by itself, is the smoking gun, showing a pattern of aggressive tactics that fueled the chaos. Shouldn’t ethical concerns push them to expose potential misconduct?

Or maybe the committee wants the cold, hard facts. That is understandable, considering the gravity of the situation. But what if this video is a fact, a stark reality of how force was used that day? Does it not deserve a seat at the truth-telling table?

The committee might argue about the availability of other evidence or maybe just that other videos are more relevant and reliable. But what if this one is unique, capturing a moment of truth that others missed? Shouldn’t they explore every avenue to present a complete picture?

The January 6 Committee delved deep into emails, text messages, internal communications, depositions, and what-not. They claim they turned over every stone in their quest for truth.

But what about the video that could speak volumes without a single word?

As we navigate this maze of investigations, it’s not just about the committee. It’s about those who swore an oath to protect and serve, resorting to force against peaceful crowds. What consequences should they face?

If the use of force was unreasonable, criminal charges are on the table. But what if these charges are the exception, not the rule? Do we need a systemic shift in how we evaluate the use of force?

Officers can be held accountable for damages by way of civil lawsuits. But accountability isn’t just about compensating victims – it’s about redefining the relationship between the police and the people they serve.

Citing internal investigations, departments can have their internal checks. But these investigations might resemble something of a fox guarding the henhouse. Should external scrutiny be the norm?

True, videos can shape public perception. And we can’t just brush them aside, saying that such snippets lack context. And it is prerogative that we look to the complaints from other officers – fellow officers, as the whistle-blowers, overcoming the code of silence that might prevail. Shouldn’t we foster an environment where speaking up is the rule, not the exception?

We should – with “professional consequences,” which are violators losing benefits or even getting terminated. But what if the consequences aren’t consistent across the board? Shouldn’t justice be impartial to the badge?

As we grapple with these questions, no doubt, the January 6 Committee stands as a symbol of our collective pursuit of truth. But in their quest, let’s not forget the videos like this that might hold the missing pieces. It’s not just about the events of January 6; it’s about the lessons we learn and the changes we demand. Ultimately, it’s about reclaiming a sense of justice that extends beyond the hallowed halls of the Capitol.

LGBT Groups Get Another Warning They’ll Ignore

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-12-05 19:00 +0000

We’ve tried to warn women, minorities, the LGBTQ folks, and, in fact, everyone the Democrats claim to support. You are being used and discarded. Women are already living that. Minorities, especially in cities, are worse off thanks to Dems and BLM, so can the LGBT folks be convinced before it is too late?

The politics of Democrat Socialism, which is a code word for Marxism, have no interest at all in your rights. They are using you to gain power until they no longer need you. You can see it at work with women and inner city minorities. Both continue to be pandered to, but neither is better off or looking at a shiny rights-based future, and you might be next.

Gay men and lesbians who oppose the transgender agenda have already gotten a taste, but Russia just showed you something, and you’d best all pay attention. Socialist/communist/Marxist regimes have been consistent in their opposition to your movement.

Russia’s Supreme Court on Thursday in an official ruling designated what it called the “international LGBT public movement” as a banned “extremist” organization. The new ban is expected to take full effect by early next year – but some reports have said it is effective immediately – and while specifics haven’t been forthcoming, the label would clearly give state authorities much broader powers to go after activist groups.

China doesn’t allow it, either. They even banned girly-man boy-band-like content from Japan.

That’s not to say no LGBT types are lurking in communist countries. We know they are in hiding in Muslim countries. And I’m not advocating for their right to speak or protest to be suppressed—quite the contrary. I’m saying that the political party you are supporting is very likely going to treat you the same way when they no longer need to pander to your sexual preferences.

One-party regimes are always police states, and if you think the persecution or censorship stops with Republicans, you are a special sort of useful idiot. If you applauded Facebook and Pre-Musk Twitter (Google or Amazon or Your Government) colluding to censor words and ideas you found inconvenient or hurtful, get ready for some serious discomfort and pain.

That government will shut you up and shut you down just as fast the moment you speak or set out of line.

It is an idea we can all agree we need to protect. A tribe that includes everyone, regardless of their sexual or demographic positioning, under attack, not just from China, Russia, or Islam, but the globalists, the UN, WEF, and WHO.

This form of governance will be a top-down form of fascism whose “representatives” will be even further from reach than the ones you have now.

Like women and gay men and increasingly minorities, you will be left shouting in the darkness. The only thing you have that they want is your vote and your activism until they have so much power they no longer need that. Forget gay rights; you’ll have few, if any, human rights.

You’ve been warned again!

Israel: Ongoing Links, Memes, and Commentary

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-12-05 17:30 +0000

This is an attempt to “break out” memes, links, and my commentary about the situation in Israel / the Middle East so as to not overload the standard meme posts that I do.  My last “normal” meme post.  In these Israel-related posts I don’t just have memes such, but lots of informative links as well as hopefully-insightful commentary.

Note that this is not meant to be a day-by-day update about what’s going on.  Rather, to highlight uncomfortable truths about the actual nature of the conflict, deep-history background, and so on, as well as to show the at-present immutable nature of Islamic Jew hate and why that matters to today’s events.

Note that these posts do not repeat information – so there is a lot of stuff in prior posts.  Please do check them out too if this is a topic of interest to you:

TOP OF THE FOLD

What is the “Status Quo” on the Temple Mount? (bolding in the original; underlining in the second paragraph added):

The Temple Mount is Judaism’s holiest site. It is the biblical Mount Moriah where Abraham was to sacrifice his son Isaac. It is the site at which King Solomon built the first Jewish Temple, destroyed in 586 BCE. It is the site at which the Jews, 70 years later, built the second Temple. As a pamphlet for tourists published in 1924 by the Supreme Muslim Council openly declares: “This site is one of the oldest in the world. Its sanctity dates from the earliest (perhaps from pre-historic) times. Its identity with the site of Solomon’s Temple is beyond dispute.”

In the 1990’s the Waqf excavated the area known as “Solomon’s Stables”, turning it into a new mosque referred to as the El-Marwani Mosque. It is located 12 meters below the current courtyard, and the Supreme Muslim Council pamphlet notes that the area of the Stables “dates probably as far back as the construction of Solomon’s Temple. According to Josephus, it was in existence and was used as a place of refuge by the Jews at the time of the conquest of Jerusalem by Titus in the year 70 A.D.” It was Titus who destroyed the second temple.

Trust Hamas? | Frontpage Mag

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth a war, is much worse. When a people are used as mere human instruments for firing cannon or thrusting bayonets, in the service and for the selfish purposes of a master, such war degrades a people. A war to protect other human beings against tyrannical injustice; a war to give victory to their own ideas of right and good, and which is their own war, carried on for an honest purpose by their free choice, — is often the means of their regeneration. A man who has nothing which he is willing to fight for, nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety, is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. As long as justice and injustice have not terminated their ever-renewing fight for ascendancy in the affairs of mankind, human beings must be willing, when need is, to do battle for the one against the other.”

One of the new horrors during Hamas’ terror is that terrorists were using rape as a weapon of war.

Multiple testimonies have been documented of the terrorists mutilating and raping women before – or even after – they were murdered.

One witness told CNN, “She was alive, she stood on her feet and she was bleeding from her back. I saw that he was pulling her hair. She had long brown hair. I saw him chop off her breast and then he was throwing it toward the road, tossed it to someone else and they started playing with it. I remember seeing another person raping her.”

During the rape, the terrorist shot the victim in the head, the witness said.

Multiple videos show women with their hands zip-tied while being assaulted.

The report said Shari, a volunteer military morgue worker, confirmed the violence.

“We saw many women with bloody underwear, with broken bones, broken legs, broken pelvises,” she told The Washington Post.

RINO’s Paradox

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-12-05 16:00 +0000

A new anti-gun bill is about to be introduced in Congress.  The Gas-Operated Semi-Automatic Firearms Exclusion (GOSAFE) Act is the work of  Senator Angus King of Maine and Senator Martin Heinrich of New Mexico.

You can see a breakdown of the provisions of the bill here.

The bill effectively outlaws all semi-automatic rifles on the basis of how they function (rather than in the usual way, by listing particular firearms by name). It also lays the groundwork for easily extending that ban to handguns as well.

On the one hand, I suppose it’s encouraging that progressives have admitted that they should at least try to understand a technology that they want to ban.

On the other hand, it’s discouraging that they remain unable to process even the simplest logical arguments, like:

Why do the police have these weapons?  To protect themselves and others from people who are doing bad things.  That’s why citizens need to have them, too.  Except in the latter case, ‘people who are doing bad things’ may include the government.

When you hear someone like Senator King or Senator Heinrich saying in public that the police (including federal agencies, like the FBI) don’t need to be armed — because it should be sufficient for them to simply tell bad guys to stop what they’re doing — then you’ll know that they believe their own arguments, which won’t make them any less insane. Just more logically consistent.

Anyway, it’s time to point out once again that the way to react to this kind of thing is not to just engage in politics as usual, kill the bill, and hope that it won’t come back.

We know from experience that it will come back, year after year, and just the fact that it will keep being discussed will start to lend legitimacy to the lunatic idea that a person’s employees can have more rights than the person himself.

If proponents of civilian disarmament keep tossing mud at the wall, eventually, some of it will stick. Because that’s how mud works — on the basis of repetition, not reason.

So even if you don’t want more freedom and just want the same amount we have now, you have to demand more than you want.

According to one of Zeno’s paradoxes of motion, you can’t ever get anywhere because first, you have to travel half the distance to your goal; then you have to travel half the remaining distance, and again and again, always going halfway from where you are to where you want to be.

There are ways of resolving the paradox mathematically by using the concept of limits, but there’s a simpler way to deal with it, which is just this: To get to where you actually want to be, make your first step an attempt to go twice as far.  Then, going half of that distance takes you all the way to your goal.

I think one of the reasons that progressives continue to make progress while conservatives continue to lose ground is that progressives are always asking for twice what they want, while conservatives normally ask for what they think they can get — which, as often as not, is nothing at all.

In the case of gun control, progressives will ask for anything they can dream up — bans, taxes, capacity limits, registration, storage requirements, universal background checks, mandatory liability insurance, and so on.  What’s halfway to that?  Something like a Red Flag Law.

Conservatives, on the other hand, will ask for things to remain as they are. But in politics, as in Wonderland, you have to run as fast as you can just to stay in the same place. So, halfway to where you are is somewhere behind you.  And what’s there? Something like a Red Flag Law.

What conservatives should be asking for are things like the repeal of NFA34, the repeal of GCA68, the elimination of ATF, and a lot more, including:

  • Free ammo (e.g., 500 rounds per year for every gun that you own)
  • Free targets (including steel targets, which are too expensive for many people to buy)
  • Free holsters and slings
  • Free optics (scopes, red dot sights, tritium front sights)
  • Free hearing protection
  • Free gun cleaning supplies
  • Free shooting range memberships, including to ranges now exclusively available to law enforcement
  • Required carry of firearms in public (with a monthly fee that you can pay to be relieved of the responsibility)
  • Required militia mustering (ages 16 to 76) for towns with more than 50 people
  • Militia training to be provided by the National Guard
  • Minimum demonstrated shooting ability to qualify for voting,  adoption, foster care, teaching licenses, and so on
  • Armed teachers and administrators in schools
  • White flag laws (encouraging people to report anyone they think might be going around unarmed, skipping musters, and so on)
  • Mandatory gun safety and marksmanship training in schools

And conservatives should be asking for those things even though they don’t expect to get them and even if they don’t really want them. Because what’s halfway to an agenda like that? A much freer country.

More to the point, what’s halfway between what these things and what progressives are asking for?  A somewhat freer country.

Just as the Democrats have piles of anti-gun bills sitting around waiting to be dusted off when an opportunity appears, Republicans ought to have piles of pro-gun bills sitting around waiting to be used to counter-balance these anti-gun bills.  You want A, B, and C?  Well, we want P, Q, R, S, T, U, and V.

These bills would, of course, all need to have names centered on increasing public safety: The Keep Children Safe Act, the Emergency Preparedness Act, the Responsible Citizens in Positions of Responsibility Act, and so on.

It’s important to note that I’m not saying that bills like this would pass into law or even that they should pass into law.

What I am saying is that it would be productive to force supporters of gun control to spend their limited time, energy, and money fighting against such bills and instructive to observe and collect their arguments as to why it would be wrong to take their money and restrict their liberty to promote ends that they abhor — so that they can, in effect, be forced to testify against their own bills.

Half of This Freshman High School Class … is Reading at a First Grade Level

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-12-05 14:30 +0000

Bellows Falls Union High School Principal Kelly O’Ryan told the school’s budget committee this week that seven freshmen out of a classroom of 14 students were reading at a first-grade or elementary school level.”

It’s not that only half of the high school students can read to grade level. It’s that half of them can only read to a first-grade level.

Also please note that this academic warning was raised by the school principal at a BFUHS ‘budget’ meeting. In other words, it’s a precursor to justify Gov. Scott’s recent warning that the State education budget, which is already at a $23,856 per student cost, will increase 18.5% for next year and equal $28,270 per student.

“BFUHS Director Deborah Wright of Rockingham said the news from O’Ryan about the reading levels was “very upsetting” and the first time the school board had heard about lagging reading scores.”

Either school board member Wright can’t read either, or she’s lying.

“Apparently, there’s a lot we don’t know,” said Wright.

She said she had questions on whether those seven freshmen with the low reading abilities came from the local schools or somewhere else.

Wright and Terry said the low reading scores come at a pivotal time in negotiations, as the unionized teachers have asked for what was termed “a substantial increase.”

If this dystopia isn’t halted now, the only remedy will be a major socio-economic disaster… sooner rather than later.

Joe Manchin And Dark Days For West Virginia

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-12-05 11:30 +0000

Joe Manchin has represented West Virginia in the U.S. Senate since 2010, but he will not be seeking another term. Before going to Washington, Manchin served the Mountain State as Governor and Secretary of State. Manchin has been the lone Democrat at the state or federal level in West Virginia, and he sees the future fading for his home state as the Biden Administration works feverishly to shut down the number two industry in his state. He is stepping down from Congress but may challenge President Biden in 2024 as a third-party candidate. He has not announced yet, but all indicators point to him running for the White House.

Coal Mining is the number two West Virginia industry, generating over $7 Billion annually, and second only to the Healthcare industry, which generates $11 Billion. Joe Biden is hell-bent on eliminating coal mining and coal-generated electric plants. Biden’s climate czar, John Kerry, announced this week that the United States is committed to ceasing to build coal electric plants and closing all coal mines by 2035. Nearly one in ten people in West Virginia now or have worked in the coal industry.

John Kerry was in Dubai when he made this dire announcement for the coal industry. Kerry was in Dubai attending a meeting of the Powering Past Coal Alliance, which is a collection of 57 committed to destroying fossil fuels to be replaced by solar panels and windmills. John Kerry has no official position in the Government but yields tremendous power in the Biden Administration’s effort to destroy America. China, a favorite country of Biden and Kerry, is not a member of this Alliance, and they are going in the other direction with Coal. China is mining and buying Coal for their coal-powered electric plants, and they put a new coal plant online every two weeks. We can be confident this topic was not discussed at the recent Summit in San Francisco with Xi Jinping. Kerry sat at that Summit table, but for what purpose?

Manchin has been at odds with Biden since Joe was sworn in as Manchin saw what Biden intended for West Virginia. Biden deceived Manchin when the President made concessions regarding Coal in exchange for Manchin’s support for the Inflation Reduction Act. Manchin knew quickly after he voted in favor of the bill that Biden had, for sake of a better word, screwed him. Manchin has been able to keep his seat in a very Red state, and Trump won in 2020 by 40 plus points. He knows that the people of West Virginia will never vote for his re-election, and it is time to end his twenty-five-year career representing the Mountaineers.

West Virginia is not alone in watching Biden harm their economy and future. Wyoming, Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Kentucky are also heavily invested in Coal. Biden loves to tout his record of job creation, which we all know is exaggerated by the epidemic years, but what he is doing to kill jobs in coal mining, oil drilling, petroleum, auto manufacturing, and auto sales/service will be his legacy. Manchin is not going to go down with the ship. He is not a young man at 76 but still sees a future in Washington and knows that a third-party run will spell doom to a Biden re-election. I think he sees that as sweet revenge.

Night Cap: Victoria’s Secret Apologizes to Predator for Trying to Protect Women’s Privacy (Chaos Ensues)

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-12-05 02:30 +0000

We’re on a rollercoaster when it comes to the global brand doing business as Victoria’s Secret. First, they got caught up trying to appease the #woke folk, lost a fortune, and reversed course. But now they’ve apologized to a man who wanted to try on a bra at one of their stores.

The crime? They made him wait until all the women were out of the dressing room before letting him in, and it got his panties in a twist.

All hell broke loose this week when a biological male who goes by @Microdragons1 claimed on social media that Victoria’s Secret better change its dressing room rules — or else!

“I went through a thoroughly dehumanizing experience at Victoria’s Secret today due to my status as a trans woman,” @Microdragons1 wrote on Twitter.

“I was trying to find a cute bra at Victoria’s Secret, and they made me wait until every cis woman left the dressing rooms before I could go into just one of them. They even made other cis women wait until I’d had my turn so no cis women would be in any of the 5 other rooms.”

Vic tried to apologize and even asked for a little one-on-one chat, but that social share appears to have outraged more than a few people.

The issue continues to be one this site embraced more than a decade ago with someone nicknamed Bob “Bathroom Bill” Perry. Early efforts to pass bathroom bills that would allow either sex to use either restroom with either sex present (based on how they felt about their sexuality at that moment) were met with the appropriate amount of derision and outrage. For what it’s worth, almost everything Bob ran on has come to pass without him. Republican Governor Chris Sununu even signed his bathroom bill wishes into law a few years later.

So, we’ve come a long way, baby. From a Democrat party that trumpeted women’s privacy rights to one that can’t wait to violate them!

Corporations are downright bipolar about it all – Over the summer (missed this one), Vic Secrets had hired Megan Rapinoe to help them take the brand in a new direction, which might have been what inspired @Microdragons1 to try a cute bra on in one of their stores, presumably not one already on a woman in the dressing room.

It is a world where creeps, voyeurs, and sexual predators have been given a golden ticket to get their freak on. When a business tries to protect its customers, someone at corporate feels the need to reach out and touch them ever so gently to prevent the Social Justice Gaystapo from crapping all over their brand.

Then, the normal people take them to the woodshed.

To whom should they listen?

The 1.6 Billion in sales declines after they went from runway angels to hefty chicks and travesties might provide a clue.

Senator Angus King Has an Idea on How to Prevent Another Lewiston ME But It’s the Wrong One

Granite Grok - Tue, 2023-12-05 01:00 +0000

US Senator Angus King, appalled by the bloodshed from the shooting in Lewiston, Maine (and who isn’t), has co-sponsored a different sort of gun regulation bill. He thinks it could survive constitutional scrutiny, but he’s looking in the wrong direction.

The bill would limit the number of rounds in a gun magazine and require gas-operated, semi-automatic firearms to have permanent or fixed magazines to prevent shooters from rapidly reloading.

Unlike other proposed assault weapons bans that he opposed, King said their bill focuses on the mechanisms that can make some semi-automatic guns so deadly rather than their appearance or model numbers.

The bill would also make it illegal to make certain modifications to semi-automatic guns. But it would exempt certain types of common gun used by hunters and for self-defense, such as semi-automatic shotguns and handguns that operate with a recoil mechanism.

During a video press conference, King and Heinrich said they have studied the constitutional concerns raised about past gun control measures and they are confident their bill will pass the test.

This slightly narrowed red-headed step-child of a gun-grabbing bill is, to borrow from Hamlet, sound and fury, signifying nothing. Democrats want more, Republicans want less, and it won’t stop mass shootings, certainly not like the one in Lewiston. Even a quasi-capable shooter with a ten-round magazine could cause significant injury and death in a barrel full of disarmed fish with just one weapon. (Related: Lessons from Lewiston, Maine.)

As with almost every other shooting to which the media and gun-grabbin’ pols append the word “mass,” the problem was -and always is – the lack of return fire. Robert Card’s targets were in a gun-free zone, and they did as asked. They disarmed themselves and were shot or killed. Angus figures that this must be the natural state of human beings because,

“The key here is in the midst of a mass shooting, it’s when the shooter needs to re-load that there’s an opportunity either for people to escape or for first responders or for people in the room to disarm the shooter,” King said during the press conference. “But if there’s not lapse in the firing, that can’t happen.”

Or, and here’s a crazy idea: you could stop disarming the “people.” Something that undoubtedly passes constitutional muster.

Ask proprietors to stop disarming them. This increases the likelihood of one or more law-abiding, armed “first responders” who can immediately return fire.

A strange thing happens when people are shooting at you. You have to find them and shoot back, or that plan to take a bunch of people with you goes sideways. If armed citizens spend any time at the range, the shooter may already be leaking precious fluid. They might be dead. A thing that is nearly impossible in a gun-free zone.

So far, that’s not been the case with successful gun-free-zone mass shootings.

State Rep Jim White has proposed legislation in Maine that actually makes sense. His bill would make proprietors of gun-free zones responsible for the safety of the people they disarmed by holding them fiscally liable for harm as a result of the restriction. It has no chance of passing Maine’s Democrat majority legislature or Democrat governor, and as luck would have it, congress won’t be passing the bill proposed by Angus King.

The question of constitutionality is moot. But the problem of disarming law-abiding citizens continues, and it is more nuanced than you’d like. A commenter on a past Lewiston post noted (and I’m paraphrasing) that by entering businesses that are gun-free zones, you enable them, support them, and disarm yourself. That doesn’t mean you deserve to get shot, but if armed citizens took their business elsewhere, and many do, you’d solve two problems. They wouldn’t get your business, and you wouldn’t be disarmed.

Volcanos and Earthquakes and Flooding… Oh My!

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-12-04 23:30 +0000

As I see yet another volcano erupting – this time in Indonesia – it suddenly occurred to me: The Globalists want to dim the sunlight hitting the earth to, theoretically, fight climate change.  They’ve openly talked about it.

Stratospheric aerosol injection – Wikipedia

Let me don my foil hat for a moment and ASSUME that artificial induction of volcanos is possible. Note – ASSUME. But what a master stroke if true. They dim the sun – to cull us through food shortages and colder weather globally – and in a way that 99% of people will simply not believe. Remember, it was ONE eruption, albeit huge, that caused the “Year without a summer” that created food shortages and other effects.  (Bolding added.)

What was the “Year Without a Summer”? (history.com)

In the summer of 1816, the Northern Hemisphere was plagued by a weather disruption of seemingly biblical proportions. Following a relatively ordinary early spring, temperatures in the eastern United States plunged back below freezing, and communities from New England to Virginia experienced heavy snowfalls and crop-killing frost during June, July and August. Europe also found itself in the grip of an unseasonable chill. Winter snows refused to melt, and between April and September, some parts of the Continent were drenched by as many as many as 130 days of rain. The unrelenting gloom inspired author Mary Shelley to write her famous novel “Frankenstein,” but it also wreaked havoc on farmers. Crops failed across Europe and China, spawning deadly famines and outbreaks of typhus and other diseases. In India, the disturbances gave rise to a virulent new strain of cholera that eventually killed millions. The suffering in the United States was less pronounced, but many still felt the squeeze of soaring grain prices. Some poorer Americans were even reduced to eating hedgehogs and scrounging for wild turnips.

So what about all these volcanos popping up? Indonesia? Iceland? Kamchatka? Japan? Ecuador? Mount Etna in Italy?  Others I’ve missed?  All just in 2023. In searching, there was an article on under-ice volcanos in Antarctica possibly heating up and erupting, which would not just throw even more tons of dust into the atmosphere but, in melting the ice, cause calamities from water racing off the rocky continent into the sea – raising sea levels for real.  And let us not forget that the Yellowstone super-caldera is overdue, at least by some estimates, not so by others… regardless, it popping off would be double-plus ungood.

How will these cumulative dust clouds affect the sunlight hitting the earth?  Whatever impact they have, it will not be in a “good” direction.

But let’s assume they are induced. That’s a master-stroke. And I find the timing of the multiple volcanos all going off in one year mighty suspicious.  Again, I’m not saying that I am convinced they’re being artificially induced. And I’ll include the possibility that such a frequency of eruptions is completely normal in history and now, thanks to the internet, I’m merely seeing them rather than being blissfully unaware.

Global Volcanism Program | Current Eruptions (si.edu)

And it’s not just volcanos.  Earthquakes too seem to be “popping” a lot more than normal.  Not only do earthquakes do damage and kill people, potentially lots of people, but they can cause tsunamis which – pardon the term – can create ripple effects doing widespread damage.  Same caution again about whether this is a true uptick or just the magic of the information age making me aware of them now.

But it does fit in with the depopulation agenda.  Blocked sunlight leading to cold – and cold, not heat, kills in a widespread fashion.  Blocked sunlight leads to crop failures – hunger, starvation, and panic over dwindling food supplies.  Earthquakes kill, can create tsunamis, and a melting Antarctic ice shelf can flood coastal areas.  The image below is Gab’s AI to the request of “Map of US if the sea level went up five feet”:

So not precisely scientific and accurate, but it does show coastline disruptions.  Significant ones.  And while I don’t doubt this is alarmist, the number of feet is about right for my off-the-cuff guess.  But this would not a slow rise over years and years, but in a massive months-only pulse.

Here’s what rising sea levels mean for Boston, according to a new report

And all serve the purpose: create chaos, fear, and uncertainty.  Fear.  So while I do have strong skepticism about artificially-induced volcanos and earthquakes… and am deeply reticent to grant to the Globalists a credibility for more power than I’d want to give them… it does fit into a pattern.

One more thing, which I’ve said before.  Consider the tens of thousands of scientists that had to be involved in the development of the virus, and then the Jab.  Ever-so-carefully crafted and calibrated to create systemic damage to the human system.  Possibly editing the human genome.  Creating infertility.  And in such a “perfectly” calibrated rate and speed that few, even when faced with evidence, can wrap their minds around it.  Scientists.  Even more technicians.  Untold millions of experiments.  Now assume that the volcanos and earthquakes are, similarly, artificial.

Is there NOBODY of conscience willing to speak up?  What kind of hold over people is possible on this scale?  Across not just the virus, or the Jab, but literal manipulation of the earth itself.  Or is it simply a matter of this:

Because, even now, having made the case for how this would help the Globalists… I do not want to wrap my mind around their ability to do this.  For imagine if I’m right… the sheer hubris to think they can plan and control things this finely is just begging for Nemesis on bended knee for unforeseen consequences for all life on earth, not just human civilization.

Putting A Number on How Much Joe Biden Has Made From His Criminal Activities

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-12-04 22:00 +0000

An amazing tweet from Charlie Kirk documenting the payoffs from Joe Biden’s criminal activities. The obvious question: WHY HASN’T THE GOP HOUSE IMPEACHED BIDEN? Another obvious question.

Why isn’t every GOP with a bully pulpit exposing Biden and demanding his impeachment? The ONLY way to make the voting public aware of the prodigious criminality of Biden, Inc. is impeachment. Replay the evidence over and over and over again on X. A side benefit of impeachment … exposing the complicity of the GOP RINOs.

ICYMI – Maine Says Chris Christie Didn’t Qualify to Be on Its GOP Presidential Primary Ballot

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-12-04 20:30 +0000

For all the talk amongst the never-Trumpers about keeping The Donald off state ballots, perhaps someone should have spent more time trying to get his challenger on them. Maine has announced that Chris Christie lacked the signatures needed to appear on its ballot, and so he will not.

In order to be on the ballot for Maine’s March 5, 2024, primary election, candidates must have 2,000 in-state signatures, but state officials said Saturday he didn’t make the cut.

“The deadline for candidates for president to turn in a sufficient number of signatures to be on the March 5, 2024, primary election ballot was 5 p.m. today,” Maine’s Secretary of State said in a press release.

Christie only received 844 signatures, Maine Director of Elections Heidi Peckham told CBS News.

Christie’s Maine Campaign claims they submitted over 6,000 signatures and has appealed though I’m not sure why. By all accounts, he’s polling badly there (Asa Hutchinson also failed to make the ballot), but he’s not spending his own money so what the heck. Appeal away.

The Santos Expulsion … GOP Show They Are Cowards And Frauds

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-12-04 19:00 +0000

What are the two major accomplishments of the U.S. House GOP? Fully funding … repeatedly … the Biden agenda and expelling a solid conservative based merely on allegations of wrongdoing. Not convictions but merely allegations. Nearly ONE-HALF of the GOP Reps joined with the Democrats to expel George Santos.

Not a single impeachment, no end to the runaway, unsustainable, wasteful Ukraine-spending … but now the GOP’s razor-thin majority is even thinner. WHY? It is because the GOP is a Party of cowards and frauds.

Expelling George Santos was nowhere on the list of priorities of actual GOP voters. But it was very, very, very important to the Regime-media. So bye-bye Rep. Santos. Such cowards.

And such frauds. As but one example, insider-trading is rampant in Congress. Yet the self-righteous GOP Reps who voted to expel Santos have no problem with that. What frauds.

Breaking: North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum Ends his Bid for the White House

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-12-04 18:17 +0000

North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum has suspended his presidential aspirations, taking a few potshots at the RNC and making sure the door doesn’t hit him in the ass on the way out.

In a statement and video released Monday morning, Burgum emphasized that he and his wife “are deeply grateful for each and every person who supported us with their ideas, prayers, advocacy, encouragement and enthusiasm. Kathryn and I will always remain committed to fighting for the people who make our nation so exceptional.”

The North Dakota governor becomes the latest White House hopeful call it quits, as the GOP field of contenders has rapidly shrunk after topping out at over a dozen candidates during the summer.

Burgum’s departure winnows the field to Trump, DeSantis, Haley, Christie, Ramaswamy, and Hutchinson. All the major national polls have them ranked in that order, with Trump’s lead still significant. Brugum was stuck at 0 or 1% in most national polls ( which is where Hutchinson also remains), though he may have done better in certain states where he has some name recognition.

I saw Burgum speak at the NHGOP First in the Nation Summit. He seemed sensible and practical, maybe even capable, but plenty of other candidates were working similar messages, so he was never going to get past that to higher polling. Here are two minutes of Gov. Doug at that event.

This Was Just a Little Bit Suspicious …

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-12-04 16:00 +0000

The other day, I was asked to do something that immediately struck me as suspicious, and I promptly declined.

As many of you know, one of the ways we raise funds to help cover operating expenses is sponsored content. We publish a post with backlinks that allow the linked page to get a lift from ‘Grok’s higher Page and Domain Authority. We charge a nominal fee for the time required to publish. I get hundreds of requests each month, most of them beginning with “Hello Dear,” and a few emails later with “I am a reseller with many clients, but your budget is too high.”

It’s a dance I’ve streamlined over the years to limit the amount of time I waste from “Hello, Dear” to “too high” to “OK, I send you an article,” which is code for F off, you pricey bastard, I’m done here.

Our sponsored content rates are not overpriced. A handful of our clients pay what we ask, and a few send enough volume yearly to warrant a slight discount. Everyone else wants something for nothing, and those are the ones I’m trying to shepherd out of my inbox as quickly as I’m able.

Of the hundreds of requests that hit my inbox each month, very few result in an exchange of published content for payment, but that’s not why I dragged you through that explanation. I got a query over the weekend that has me thinking I should contact the AG, PayPal, or someone.

The subject requesting the publication of sponsored content used the name Malik and asked for pricing.

Hello,Hope your are doing great.
I am interested in your website for a blog/guest post.

Can you please provide me the following details.
Price for blog/guest post.?
will you write the article.?

will the post shows on home page..??

I responded with a copy-and-paste response of our generic pricing, which they accepted without question, and that never happens. No haggling.

Not long after, I was presented with two articles to publish, which I did. I created an invoice and sent the live post links and PayPal invoice link to this new “customer,” going by the name Malik. This was the response.

I want you to create invoice of 500$ for me . My client will send you payment . You will deduct your amount and send the rest my webmaster paypal . Currently, I am not able to manage any transaction because of Paypal issue . I am asking for help . Can you manage transaction for me?

Lots of red flags were waving.

If you are having a problem with PayPal, how are you going to get money via PayPal? Not that ‘using Steve and the ‘Grok as a laundromat wasn’t higher on my list of reasons for not doing it. The scheme looked laugh-out-loud African Prince sharing their fortune obvious.

I replied, “Sorry, I’m not interested in doing that, and not just because of how sketchy it sounds. You can pay via debit or credit card through our donation portal via either GiveSendGo or PayPal.”

Malik asked me to take down the content, which I did, and our business was concluded, but it kept bugging me. The first thought is some low-dollar money laundering scheme that, had I accepted, would have resulted in more of the same. The second is that it was a setup to trap me if I did it and then string it along until the sum was significant enough to be of value or to create leverage.

I know it sounds a bit paranoid, but the world is full of tripwires, our government has increasingly gotten into the business of entrapment, and we can’t know every trick. We can only do the right thing, and I would never engage in this sort of transfer under any circumstance (NSA and IRS, if you are listening?).

I’ve moved on, but it is a curious enough request that I’m still wondering if this is something and someone I should identify to some “authority” other than this audience.

Separate Tech and State

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-12-04 14:30 +0000

Some libertarians dismiss concerns over social media companies’ suppression of news and opinions that contradict select agendas by pointing out that these platforms are private companies, not part of the government. There are two problems with this argument. First, there is nothing unlibertarian about criticizing private businesses or using peaceful and voluntary means, such as boycotts, to persuade businesses to change their practices.

The second and most significant reason the “they are private companies” argument does not hold water is the tech companies’ censorship has often been done at the “request” of government officials. The extent of government involvement with online censorship was revealed in emails between government and employees of various tech companies. In these emails the government officials addressed employees of these “private companies” as though these employees were the government officials’ subordinates.

Government officials using their authority to silence American citizens is a blatant violation of the First Amendment. Yet some conservative elected officials and writers think the solution to the problem of big tech censorship is giving government more power over technology companies. These pro-regulation conservatives ignore the fact that it would be just as unconstitutional if a conservative administration was telling tech companies who they must allow to access their platforms as it is when progressives order social media companies to deplatform certain individuals. Furthermore, since the average government official’s political views are closer to Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez than to Marjorie Taylor Greene, giving government more power over social media companies is likely to lead to more online censorship of conservatives.

Instead of giving government more power over social media, defenders of free speech should work to separate tech and state. An excellent place to start is pushing for passage of the Free Speech Protection Act. Unlike other legislation, such as the PATRIOT Act and the Affordable Care Act, this bill is accurately named. Introduced by Kentucky Senator Rand Paul and Ohio Representative Jim Jordan, this bill makes it a crime for any federal employee or employee of a federal contractor to use his position to communicate with a social media company to interfere with any American’s exercise of First Amendment protected rights. Violators of this law would face fines of at least 10,000 dollars as well as suspension, demotion, or even termination and a lifetime ban from working with the federal government.

In addition to working to pass the Free Speech Protection Act, those who object to the big technology companies’ “content moderation” policies should abandon big tech for more free speech-friendly platforms. Many of the newer social media companies were started to meet the demand for a “content moderation”-free alternative to the dominant companies. Senator Paul himself stopped posting videos on YouTube because of its suppression of free speech. While my Liberty Report still airs on YouTube, its main platform is Rumble. It is wonderful to do a show on any topic I choose without worrying about being canceled.

Big tech censorship is a problem created by big government. The solution lies not in giving the government more power but in separating tech and state. Passing the Free Speech Protection Act and making big tech pay a price for cooperating with big government by leaving to use sites like Rumble are two excellent places to start.

COVID-19 Vaxx: Texas Sues Pfizer for Deceptive Trade Practices – How Many Other States Will Follow Their Lead?

Granite Grok - Mon, 2023-12-04 13:00 +0000

New Hampshire loves itself some jackpot justice. They sued Exxon/Mobile over EPA-approved Fuel Additives and loved cashing tobacco settlement checks. But how about this? After preaching the 95% and safe and effective lies, does the State have the hutspa to follow Texas as it sues Pfizer for Deceptive Trade practices?

It’s a fair question because Florida began looking at this a year ago when Gov. DeSantis asked the state courts to impanel a grand jury to explore wrongdoing but has not yet (to my knowledge) formally filed a suit.

Texas AG Ken Paxton has pulled that trigger.

How did Pfizer’s vaccine achieve such widespread adoption, yet fall short of the stated goal of ending the pandemic? In a nutshell, Pfizer deceived the public. First, Pfizer’s widespread representation that its vaccine possessed 95% efficacy against infection was highly misleading from day one. That number was only ever legitimate in a solitary, highly- technical, and artificial way—it represented a calculation of the so-called “relative risk reduction” for vaccinated individuals in Pfizer’s then-unfinished pivotal clinical trial. But FDA publications indicate “relative risk reduction” is a misleading statistic that “unduly influence[s]” consumer choice. Indeed, per FDA: “when information is presented in a relative risk format, the risk reduction seems large and treatments are viewed more favorably than when the same information is presented” using more accurate metrics.

Who’s with me? There’s gold in them thar hills, boys! Potentially the largest class-action lawsuit in human history.

But not so fast. There are also problems aplenty. While even cash-strapped Democrat states have more reason than anyone to chase another pot of gold, they were the worst of the worst when it came to pronouncing the Pfizer/Moderna vaccine safe and effective. From scare tactics to fear tactics to mandates and vaccine passports, can those locales complicit in the lie (who put a rotten despotism cherry on top) sue Pfizer without getting sued themselves?

I hope they get sued, but their fallback response will be to blame the FDA, CDC, NIH, or NIAD. They approved emergency use repeatedly. Gave us public health marching orders.

Elected and public health officials, and everyone up and down either of those food chains, will point a finger toward DC while blubbering, but, but, well, they said it was okay! And if they told you to inject your citizens with poison, would you do that? Would you shout them down, shut them up, make fools of them in public, refuse them access to public spaces, even confine them for wanting nothing more than their right to both free speech, bodily autonomy, or fully informed consent?

Yes, because that is the entire pandemic vaccine policy tragedy in one run-on sentence.

And a private company guilty of fraud, injury, or even murder, as we’ve noted on these pages more than once, isn’t going to be able to hide behind immunity no matter who offered it.

The funny thing about getting politicians to promise you immunity from prosecution is that there are limitations to what can be excused. Take deliberate deception and fraud.

If you hide details that lead to harm, the political rats will abandon your ship faster than you can say mRNA Vaccines.

That’s the boat Pfizer may soon find itself in, and it should not expect its Pfederal Pfriends to lift a finger to help, noting that any who might have probably “retired” and have packed their”stipends” and inducements in their saddle bags as they ride into the sunset. Any still on the payroll (wink-wink) also got what they wanted. A full-scale global tyranny test that a majority of the Western World Pfailed.

Pfizer/Moderna got in bed with some of the dirtiest criminals on the planet. Politicians and bureaucrats who promised them they would protect them. Organizations and individuals with no intention of protecting the people from the known risks of harm from their products; so what chance would Pfizer have when things went sideways?

Sure, everyone kept lying. The drug companies, government, public and private health, the media, and big tech actively censored the truth to protect the fraud. And as Igor Chudov notes in the linked piece, don’t be surprised when they get sued, too.

Pfizer lied to everyone, but they had a lot of help. Deceptions that continued long after the Pfizer docs and internal emails explained what we saw in the real world. They knew early and not only released it to the public but engaged in one of the most deceptive promotional campaigns in history.

A lot of people need to be sued. Pfizer is likely doomed.

So, who is going to step up and follow Texas? Who will sue Pfizer before there’s nothing left on the carcass for these vultures to pick? And how much fun will it be for us to flog them ceaselessly for it? You called us deniers and accused us of spreading misinformation. And now that is the foundation of any claims against Pfizer.

Grab some popcorn, people.
