Texas Is NOT a Red State

Granite Grok - Fri, 2023-06-02 10:30 +0000

Ask people to name a “Red State,” and Florida and Texas are likely the answer you will get. But the curtain is finally being pulled off Texas and what’s underneath the curtain is DEEP, DARK BLUE. People are being misled and manipulated about what’s really going on in America … the LEFT is WINNING and we are losing:

Vivek Ramaswamy Sheds Needed Light On Dangers Of Climate Cult

Granite Grok - Fri, 2023-06-02 01:30 +0000

The recent Bud Light marketing disaster highlights how controversies around social Wokeism – aka the “S” in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) – become social media firestorms and consume news cycles. However, while lightning rod incidents are worthy of national attention on important issues, the destructive consequences of environmental policies pushed by the climate cult are too often ignored and overlooked.

Fortunately, presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy is helping to change this dynamic. As he campaigns across New Hampshire, he is exposing on the national stage how the climate cult is part and parcel with this broader Woke agenda. He eloquently explains how the “E” isn’t a well-intentioned effort to protect the environment. It’s about imposing a “climate religion” on America of identity politics, virtue signaling, and top-down control that threatens to “shackle” our economy. He’s been so effective in calling out this climate religion that he’s even now censored for it.

We want to thank Daniel Taylor, Exec. Dir. for Power the Future for this Op-Ed. If you have an Op-Ed or LTE
you would like us to consider, please submit it to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.

As Ramaswamy often articulates on the campaign stump, the environmental and social pillars of the ESG woke agenda share the same underlying philosophies. Both seek to dictate how society looks, thinks, acts, consumes, and behaves. Its goal is to bypass the consent of the governed and implement the whims of a small minority over every aspect of our lives, telling us what to drive, what to eat, and punishing businesses for failing to comply. Given this vast overlap, it’s unsurprising that activists can often be found attending other protests with their Woke comrades on their “off” days.

Like other purveyors of the Woke ideology, the climate cultists are willing to use any possible government use – whether through illegal executive overreach, legislative power in Washington and the states, or Soros-backed activist judges – to achieve their aims.

Another similarity is that their extreme goals cannot be tempered by evidence. Despite the demonstrable success of fossil fuels in uplifting humanity’s standard of living, climate cultists seek to eliminate fossil fuels and the human advancement that has resulted from them. This religious mindset explains why some climate cultists are even calling for Earth Day to be made a religious holiday.

However, climate cultists are even more dangerous in many ways than other aspects of Woke ideology.

First, their vision for our society is, in many ways, more regressive. These radicals would send us back to the early 20th century as far as our access to the goods, services, and technologies that we depend on to sustain and grow modern life. Imagine a world without aspirin or other time-release medications, contact lenses, food abundance, smartphones, or hand sanitizer.

Second, the naked hypocrisy of their goals is even harder to swallow. Take, for example, their fight against nuclear power. Though climate cultists claim to care most about reducing carbon dioxide use, they reject using this carbon-free and abundant energy source.

This disconnect between rhetoric and actions that Ramaswamy is skilled at bringing to light shows the true aim of the movement: eliminating freedom and human prosperity by sacrificing them to their golden idol – the Paris Climate Accords.

Suppose Ramaswamy keeps this message front and center during his presidential campaign. In that case, he can be expected to gather momentum as more and more Americans become disenchanted with the Woke ESG policies. But he cannot fight this battle alone. The same focus and energy that conservatives have applied to symbolic fights, like images on beer cans, must be applied to the actions of the climate cultists and their enablers in the media, government, and NGO space.

While it may have initially started with good intentions, ESG has been hijacked by the cults of climate and Wokeism. Ramaswamy has served our nation by warning how this movement will further erode the fabric of our American society. For that, we should all be grateful.

Keep Politics Out Of Emergencies

Granite Grok - Fri, 2023-06-02 00:00 +0000

In 2021, a group of state representatives angled to have a bill reforming New Hampshire’s state of emergency laws included in the state budget. It became the single issue that the budget debate hinged on. We were partially successful but not completely.

We want to thank Melissa Blasek and Jim Kofalt for this Op-Ed. Please submit yours to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.

A new bill that would fully codify our goals was drafted before the final budget vote in June 2021 and agreed upon by the governor and House and Senate leadership.

This bill was fast-tracked in 2022 but ultimately vetoed by Gov. Chris Sununu, despite unanimous Republican support in both chambers and bipartisan support in the House.

The law we passed in the budget currently states that after three 21-day renewals of a state of emergency, the legislature must meet to vote on terminating the emergency. This means that both chambers must agree to terminate.

However, an emergency requires a bending of the Constitution. It places enormous power in the hands of the governor, including the ability to suspend and override the law. This accumulated power could be abused and misused in the wrong hands and is precisely what our founders often warned against. The vetoed bill in 2022, HB 275, simply stated that after three 21-day renewals of a state of emergency, the emergency would terminate unless both chambers voted to extend the emergency longer.

In a true emergency, we do not doubt that the Senate, House, and governor would all agree to continue a state of emergency. But if one chamber does not agree that an emergency still exists, then likely the emergency has become political, and one party or group of people wants the governor to retain dictatorial powers.

This year, HB127 was introduced with the same language as the vetoed HB 275 from last year. It was added to HB 2, the budget trailer bill, in the House. HB 127 was killed in the Senate last month, and we recently discovered that an amendment passed Senate Finance a few weeks ago that stripped state of emergency reform out of the budget. It baffles us as to why Senate Republicans, who supported this identical bill last year, have gone out of their way to kill it not just once but twice this year.

We still do not understand why Gov. Sununu vetoed the original bill, especially after he had previously agreed to the language, and it certainly isn’t an issue that would damage him politically. We suspect he feels the bill is a personal attack on his handling of the COVID pandemic, and while we’ve been vocally critical of the entire COVID response from practically every state in the country, this bill was not a reflection on Gov. Sununu.

The COVID pandemic was the first time our state of emergency laws had been tested, and we saw they could be abused in the wrong hands and felt that more legislative oversight was necessary. One needs only look to North Carolina, where the Democrat governor declared a state of emergency in an attempt to overpower a school choice bill being pushed by Republican lawmakers, to see how dangerous this type of authority could become.

In the words of James Madison, “The accumulation of all powers, legislative, executive, and judiciary, in the same hands, whether of one, a few, or many, may be justly pronounced the very definition of tyranny.”

It appears it is “Groundhog Day” again in New Hampshire politics as the budget fight once again heats up over state of emergency reform. Will this be the issue that ultimately takes down the budget, particularly in a term with a historically tight Republican majority in the House?

We guess we will have to wait and see, but we will end with a suggestion to the Senate: put HB 127 back in HB 2, and you have a significantly better chance of passing a budget this year.

Part 2: To Our ‘Grok Friends in the NH Legislature – Do You Know What Your DCYF Is Doing? Or Rather, NOT Doing?

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 22:30 +0000

OK, Part 1 is almost standard fare – a government agency (municipality, school district, water district, regional planning commission) decides that they don’t have to answer to Citizens – that we exist for their benefit and aims and it sucks to be us when we keep trying to remind them that the original intent was supposed to be the other way around.

THIS, however, should get all of you to feel your blood pressure soaring and your blood boiling. As long as my previous post was long, this will be much shorter. Kinda short (for me, anyways – Grokster Ed seems to be the Master of Brief lately). And yes, I have permission to put this up – the Mom was in tears this morning when she told me what happened but felt that GraniteGrok could shine a light on this.

I would ask, again, our friends in the NH Legislature take note of this new incident given how much time and effort they have had to put in trying to resuscitate an out-of-control and lost (mostly from overwork – I HAVE to be honest on that) department. But there is NO excuse for what they did:

(Paraphrased with some literary license used to protect the innocent):

As part of the investigation, DCYF contacted her ex-husband which the Mom had pleaded with DCYF not to contact. She didn’t know where he was, didn’t WANT to know where he was, and didn’t want any contact with him at all. She was scared of him and what he might do – again. Why?

He, for years, had abused her in various ways. She was a beaten woman with nowhere to turn and had put up with it for the sake of her children.  Until finally, she could no longer bear the physical beatings and the emotional abuse.

She raised the courage to contact an old friend to move her and her very young children far, far away from her ex. That friend drove a couple of thousand miles south, helped her load everything into a large U-Haul and trailer, and skedaddled away as quickly as possible.

She spent years fighting for her children and finally got complete custody of those children. She then spent the next few years trying to find a spot where she and her children would be safe and free from the anxiety of always having to fear the ring of a phone, a knock on the door, or an unknown car parked outside where they lived. She was starting to breathe freely.

She thought she was free. Then DCYF showed up.

I’m not going to get into THAT detail – at least not yet. Keep in mind, however, what I said in another post that I’m hearing rumors (confirmed by several people) that some School Districts in NH are sending DCYF some bogus claims against parents that refused to be passive. Draw your own conclusions but I will be following up on that. Maybe I should (in a literary sense) hook up with Claire Best and do an in-depth soiree into this “government abusing parents” bit – isn’t it bad enough that School Districts believe that THEY own the children and not the Parents (e.g., Transgenderism and Critical Race Theory bastard philosophy of  Childism).  But I digress.

So with all of that in the background, let me just say that I think that DCYF is going to be in a big pot of boiling hurt over this next bit. Remember, I’m just trying to point a small flashlight on this.

If you think that the missing, abused, and murdered children under their watch were bad enough…

Sidenote: do you remember any DCYF suffering any accountability for their parts in them?  I don’t.

Do you know what DCYF did to this Mom?

They found her abuser of an ex-husband and gave him her personal information INCLUDING HER CURRENT ADDRESS.

AFTER she pleaded with them to not do that – several times. They deliberately did it anyways.

She called the police about the papers they had served on her – they were outraged as they said it shouldn’t have happened. She called the DCYF nurse – that person was in horror that they did that.

Saying “SORRY!” isn’t going to be enough.

Neither she nor her husband can believe that DCYF did this. And her ex is a vindictive, revengeful person.

And now he knows exactly where to find her.

I’ll add that both she and her second husband are both disabled military vets (in different ways).

I have to admit, we haven’t been fond of WMUR’s Adam Sexton’s wife, Amanda Grady Sexton (Director of Public Affairs for NHCADSV) in the past here at the ‘Grok. She has done some things that have rubbed us the wrong way so we’ve written about them. However, after listening to this story, this should be right up her alley, and get involved.

I am hoping that our Legislative friends will take some of this on and start asking questions – pointed questions, deep questions, and demanding answers. This should not have happened.

Who will be held accountable, as this could end very badly.

More details coming – this ain’t over by a long shot.

To Our ‘Grok Friends in the NH Legislature – Do You Know What Your DCYF Is Doing? Or Rather, NOT Doing?

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 20:57 +0000

Part 1.

And this first post is the least egregious but exemplifies the growing attitude of Executive Branch Departments and other subdivisions of the State that they are “above” the Law and can toss it aside. That’s what this post is about.

However, I have a second one that will go up later this evening showing what DCYF is trying to do to a mother with several young children. Amanda Grady Sexton (Director of Public Affairs for NHCADSV), you will want to read it!

Anyways, as many of you know, I do non-frivolous Right To Knows. I generally have a target for what I want, know how to go from general to specific, and have spent a few years in crafting my standard format.  This one, on behalf of a couple I know, I thought was rather simplistic as it only demanded one certain specific governmental record (a document), that I knew to exist.

And I wanted DCYF to cough it up.  Rather simple, I thought – public document. Easy for a DCFY field specialist to find and email; no muss, no fuss/cut and dried. Names have been redacted to protect (for now) the guilty (emphasis mine – some original and some added now):

Note the data sent. And here is the full RSA 91-A demand:

Right to Know Request per RSA-91A: Standardized Protocol for the Investigation and Assessment of Child Abuse and Neglect Cases

Pursuant to the Right to Know Law (RSA. 91-A), I am demanding access, within 5 business days, to the following governmental record:

  • Provide, as documented in RSA 169-C:34-a (therefore, public knowledge of its existence), the manual known as “Standardized Protocol for the Investigation and Assessment of Child Abuse and Neglect Cases

Please note that this Governmental Record does not appear in RSA 91-A:5 Exemptions that enumerates specific governmental records that are not subject to the rest of RSA 91-A. Thus, the expectation is that this will be provided.

Per RSA 91-A:4 IV(c) If you deny any portion of this request, please cite the specific exemption used to justify the denial to make each record, or part thereof, unavailable for inspection along with a brief explanation of how the exemption applies to the information withheld.

As you are aware, in 2016, the New Hampshire Supreme Court ruled that a governmental body in possession of records is required to produce them in electronic media using standard common file formats: Green v. SAU #55, 168 N.H. 796, 801 (2016). Unless there is some reason that it is not reasonably practical to produce such, explain why it is not practical to comply.

Please also note, per RSA 91-A:4 III, III-a, and III-b, you are required to maintain the safety and accessibility of such responsive records. This also includes such responsive records such as emails, query files, data files, paper records). Please let me know when these records are available for inspection or you may email the records to me at Skip@GraniteGrok.com. If the volume is turns out to be substantial, I’ll be happy to supply a Dropbox folder sufficient to hold all of your responsive records.

Thank you for your lawful attention to this matter.

Sincerely,

Skip Murphy

Tick-tock, tick-tock, went the clock.  For too long. They decided to be UNlawful – the legally mandated time expired. Nary a phone call or email. So, I did what I normally do with recalcitrant lawbreakers (right, Harry Bean?):

Good morning,

I am following up on my formal RSA 91:A demand for a certain Government Record that is in possession of DCYF. Today is the 5th business day which means that the response is now out of compliance with the Law.

My original Right To Know document is attached and the relevant portions are below:

From my Right To Know demand:

Pursuant to the Right to Know Law (RSA. 91-A), I am demanding access, within 5 business days, to the following governmental record:

  • Provide, as documented in RSA 169-C:34-a (therefore, public knowledge of its existence), the manual known as “ Standardized Protocol for the Investigation and Assessment of Child Abuse and Neglect Cases

From NH Statute RSA 91:A

91-A:4 Minutes and Records Available for Public Inspection. –
IV. (a) Each public body or agency shall, upon request for any governmental record reasonably described, make available for inspection and copying any such governmental record within its files when such records are immediately available for such release.

(b) If a public body or agency is unable to make a governmental record available for immediate inspection and copying the public body or agency shall, within 5 business days of a request:

(1) Make such record available;
(2) Deny the request; or
(3) Provide a written statement of the time reasonably necessary to determine whether the request shall be granted or denied and the reason for the delay.

Please advise on your decision to supply the demanded Government Record – or not.

-Skip

I expected that missive would both get the DCYF specialist’s attention AND the demanded document. After all, in what that person does, it is the DCYF Bible (in a matter of speaking) on how the obvious is to be done.

(Feign the voice of John Belushi in Animal House): “But NOOOOOoooooo!”  Nope, the specialist decide to “lawyer up”. Now channel Founder from Animal House: “This is gonna be GREAT!”). Emphasis mine:

Hello Skip,

I consulted with my attorney who advised I inform you that all the protocols are online and available to the public

Now, regular readers of GraniteGrok know from my series of posts on demanding the card catalogs from some SAU/School Districts around the state, don’t you? Yep, and with a twist as there is a specific reason why I demanded that document:

Subject Re[2]: RSA 91:A Right To Know demand

<redacted>,

This answer is insufficient in fulfilling my Right to Know (“RTK”) demand. It is not up to the Requester to go and search out the materials.  My RTK is valid – the manual is not listed in the exceptions enumerated in RSA 91-A:5 (as I said in the original document). It is up to the Respondent (that would be you and/or DCYF) to supply the Government Record demanded.

Telling me, effectively, “go find it yourself” is not fulfilling the demand. Sending me a URL is also insufficient (see above).  Again, I expect the manual (in electronic format, see Green vs Timberlane in my original document) to be sent to me at Skip@GraniteGrok.com

Thus, your lawyer is wrongtheir name, please? If s/he believes they are right in “throwing away” a valid RTK, please feel free to send my contact information along and ask that lawyer to provide the relevant RSA or the exact clause in RSA 91-A that backs up the assertion that you have the Power to answer the way you did. Which, I point out, pretty much obviates RSA 91-A :4. I would LOVE to have that conversation.

In the meantime, I’ll post your answer on GraniteGrok.com and contemplate if I should invoke RSA 91-A:7 and RSA 91-A:8 for refusing to Follow The Law.

Boom?

I will also forward this to <redacted> to bring this matter to the Judge at <redacted> hearing as to how DCYF handles such legal requests as it is germane to there case.

-Skip

Yes, I know – instead of there, it should have been “their”. In the inimitable words of NH State Rep Harry Bean, upon being called out by another Rep for condoning an illegal act (yes, I should have brought that up during my oral testimony but forgot):

Sue me!

Yes, that couple will be meeting a Judge and the DCYF specialist and lawyer at a preliminary hearing….soon (not going to give away hints to keep confidentiality intact just like my Jane/John Doe in my NH Legislative Ethics Complaint case where confidentiality was NOT waived (unlike Harry Bean and Travis O’Hara).

Will it make a difference in the hearing?  Probably not but as I did say in my oral testimony, one person CAN make a difference here in NH. I wish that more would be that person. As James O’Keefe says: “Be Brave – DO Something!”.

Here, it’s a simple case of deliberately and willfully choosing to NOT follow the Law. When School Districts have given me the same answer and/or lawyered up, I have won every one of those “discussions” when I point out other “consequences to their actions.

This time, and if there is time and if that couple’s lawyer can squeeze it in, I hope this can get the Judge to go cross-eyed at the DCYF specialist and lawyer and go “WHAT WERE YOU THINKING?!?!?!?!?!?!?!”

But that will be the least of their problems in trying to explain that one away.

Part 2 will get you mad.

And Still They’re Lying About The COVID “Vaccine”

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 19:30 +0000

Kathleen Sullivan … Union Leader columnist and Communist (oh! I’m so sorry! I mean “Democrat”) operative … wants RFK, Jr. censored/banned/deleted and one of the reasons the Union Leader columnist gives is that he is a COVID “vax-denier”:

Of course … as anyone who chooses to actually think, to inform themselves … knows, the COVID “vaccine” is not an actual vaccine. It is inarguable that “the jab” neither prevents infection nor transmission once infected … the very things that define a vaccine. And yet the “conservative” Union Leader gives this mendacious, Big-Pharma-shill a bully-pulpit … which tells you all you need to know about the actual state of conservatism in BLUE Hampshire.

How to Keep Pace with the Digital Transformation

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 19:02 +0000

Digital transformation is a thrilling opportunity to revolutionize the way we conduct business. Despite the difficulties posed by the pandemic, its acceleration has been a topic of discussion. It’s wonderful that there are numerous ways to define and approach it because it allows for flexibility and customization. If you attempt it, you may wind up benefiting yourself, your team, and your customers.

It is fascinating to observe how digital transformation is interpreted differently by various individuals. And honestly, that’s entirely acceptable! Even if the precise definition is unclear, it presents an opportunity for investigation and discovery.

In this article, we explore what digital transformation is, why flexibility is essential for every business, and the most effective digital transformation strategies for businesses.

Discover the Art of Digital Transformation

The technology journey of digital transformation began decades ago, even beyond the enterprise. The term “digital transformation” became so ubiquitous that it began to create ambiguity for some. The rapid pace of digital transformation during the pandemic left many business leaders and their customers grappling with the question, “What exactly is digital transformation?”

Digital transformation is when you use digital services and people’s expertise to solve a problem you have now or might have in the future. To change effectively, you need to consider both technology and people.

Here is some more detailed information on how businesses can be more adaptable to changing market conditions and strategies which help with digital transformation.

Why Flexibility Is Important in Digital Transformation

Flexibility enables businesses to respond swiftly to fluctuating market conditions. In a digital environment, disruptions may occur at any moment, and organizations must be prepared to respond. ChatGPT is a prime example; it has 200 million users in just two months and is already causing major disruption in many different fields. Flexible companies can rapidly alter their strategies and processes to meet new challenges and capitalize on emergent opportunities. This is particularly useful in areas where innovation and disruption are prevalent, such as technology and healthcare.

Flexibility can also assist businesses in innovating more quickly. By employing agile development methodologies, businesses can test and iterate new concepts more rapidly, thereby reducing the time required to bring new products and services to market. Typically, startups and small businesses have an advantage over large enterprise organizations in this regard. They are more flexible and open to market changes, though they are often more risk-averse and may lack the financial resources to incorporate the latest technologies.

Additionally, flexibility can contribute to the development of an innovative and experimental culture. By encouraging employees to take risks and attempt new things, businesses can foster a culture of continuous learning and development. This can stimulate creativity and innovation, resulting in new products, services, and business models that can set the company apart from other businesses.

Despite the advantages of flexibility, businesses must be aware of certain potential hazards. Traditional hierarchical structures and processes can be an obstacle to mobility because they frequently prioritize stability and predictability over flexibility and adaptability, which is typical of large organizations. To combat this, businesses must reconsider their organizational structures and adopt new modes of operation that place a premium on collaboration, experimentation, and learning.

For this reason, flexibility necessitates a strong focus on customer requirements and a willingness to listen to and act on feedback. This can be particularly difficult in industries where consumer requirements are complex or constantly changing, such as healthcare and finance. To cope with this difficulty, businesses must invest in feedback processes that enable them to remain in sync with their customers’ shifting preferences by maintaining a constant connection with them, even if they migrate to new channels such as the metaverse.

Ultimately, business flexibility necessitates a concentration on culture and the mentality of talent, particularly leadership. The organizational transformation will require more than new technology. It requires developing a management system that places flexibility at the center of its objective, establishing a healthy amount of confidence in leadership (so they don’t falter during difficult times), and ensuring that everyone accurately understands what flexibility entails. Each has its challenges, but it is possible to attain business flexibility.

Strategies for Constructing a Flexible Company

Developing a culture that prioritizes flexibility is the first and most important stage in establishing a flexible organization. Leadership must embrace new ways of working, foster experimentation and learning, and cultivate a customer-centric, collaborative, and data-driven culture. Leaders must provide the necessary support, assets, and tools for success for their teams to be adaptable.

Creating cross-functional teams that collaborate to accomplish common objectives is an efficient method of fostering a culture that is flexible. With an emphasis on promptly and consistently providing value to consumers, these teams should be given the freedom to make choices and take responsibility for their work. Teams utilizing agile methodologies, DevOps, and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) tools should prioritize interaction and teamwork for promoting a smooth process.

According to the research by McKinsey, prioritizing talent and technology is another strategy for creating a flexible business. This requires recruiting and training employees who are adaptable, and capable to work in a fast-paced, constantly changing workplace. The technology and infrastructure required to support a flexible culture, such as cloud computing, automation, and data analytics tools, should be invested in flexible organizations. In addition, businesses should cultivate a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging workers to attempt new things and learn from their mistakes.

Moreover, flexible companies should prioritize continuous learning and enhancement. This entails providing employees with opportunities for continuous education and growth, preferably with a concentration on emergent technologies tailored to the employees’ individual levels of expertise and areas of interest.

Building a flexible company necessitates a dedication to change management since flexible transformations can be disruptive and difficult. To ensure a successful transition, it is essential to have a well-defined roadmap and change management plan in place. This includes identifying and resolving potential roadblocks, effectively communicating changes to employees, and monitoring progress to ensure desired results are obtained.

To Sum Up

It is crucial for all businesses to adhere to the steps of digital transformation. This helps optimize and accelerate all company processes. By creating an environment that is customer-oriented, interactive, and data-driven, forming cross-functional teams, investing in talent and technology, encouraging continuous development and growth, and employing effective change management strategies, organizations can create a culture that can adapt to rapidly changing market conditions and continue to provide value to customers.

Trespassing, Sage, Reparations, and Time…

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 18:00 +0000

The Left’s systemic guilt over how badly they continue to treat people of color has driven them to the only obvious solution. Make you pay for it. And that makes sense. Using people to advance their agenda is inherent in the ideology, and buying people off gets things done.

The Left is also good at lying about their intentions and mistreating the people they claim to champion. And much like Islamofascists, nothing is offensive if done in the name of the supreme agenda. There can be no sin or crime if the cause is (in their mind) just.

It explains the Liberal destruction of the black family, kneecapping their education opportunities and trapping them on crime-ridden Democrat-infested urban plantations. The same can be said of women the Left has been warring with for years while claiming to champion their rights.

So, yeah – there is much over which to feign guilt.

California has concocted a relief package (reparations) to assuage its liberal guilt. It looks more like a lottery win for millions who were never slaves, paid for by people who never owned one – whose relatives never owned a slave. Paid to people, many of whose distant relatives were never slaves.

It is the latest Democrat virtue signal, and Boston has one too. The city hired 35-year-old George Washington Williams as their Reparations Task Force project coordinator, but George has been something of a problem child.

According to a police report, city employees say that throughout May, they have had difficulties “with him trespassing in the building after hours, and at times becoming aggressive and threatening other staff members inside of City Hall.”

Williams, who has been arrested for multiple drug offenses in the past, according to Massachusetts-based outlet TB Daily News, was allegedly found non-verbal in an off-limits room while sage burned Thursday evening. How did he get there? Well, he allegedly chased off a custodian to gain access to the room.

Here’s another report on Williams’ hijinks and arrest.

Director of Municipal Protective Services, Steven Tankle, told Boston officers that his team had been having issues with Williams for three weeks, “with him trespassing in the building after hours, and at times becoming aggressive and threatening other staff members inside of City Hall,” the report stated.

Williams had allegedly been found on multiple occasions sleeping in office rooms that didn’t belong to him after bypassing metal detectors and security. The police report indicated that Williams “often became verbally aggressive and refused to leave.”

Municipal officers also reportedly grew concerned about Williams’ behavior of “burning sage inside of the building in small spaces” due to the fire hazard it posed.

This doesn’t say much about their vetting process, or maybe George is the perfect candidate and was taking his reparations in advance even though The Daily Wire reminds us that slavery has been illegal in Massachusetts since 1787.

Nonetheless, the task force will also be engaging “the community throughout the process to include input from lived experience” and then provide recommendations “for reparative justice solutions for Black residents.”

It’s been 236 years since anyone in the city or state had any legal connection to the African slave trade. But here we are, looking at reparations in the cradle of liberty, and I have a question. Is anyone on the reparations task force going to interview George Williams? He’s a black man who got arrested and did a bit of time, even if just overnight. And now the city of Boston has fired him.

I think he could offer some insight into that lived experience stuff.

Not The Netherlands … “Republican” South Dakota Shutting Down Farms

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 16:30 +0000

Red States are a lot less RED than the “Republicans” in those States would have you believe. In SOUTH DAKOTA, a supposedly GOP State, the “Republicans” in order to serve their donor class are allowing a “private business” to use eminent domain to seize farmland in order to supposedly save the climate, which is a lovely euphemism for pad their pockets:

Furious Furries Forced to Make Florida Fetish Convention … Adults Only – No Kids Allowed

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 15:00 +0000

At some point in the hopefully not-so-distant future, what is at present a meme will become an adage. The question is not why children should attend drag shows; it is why drag queens want to perform for children. The same could be said of Furries.

The Furrie (furry) world is marketed as folks who like to dress up in elaborate animal costumes and do stuff everyone else does. What it is is a fringe sexual fetish thing, and while not everyone who gets involved may necessarily be meeting to add contacts to their little furry black books (or share a litter box), more than a few have to be predators using Fursonas to break the ice with kids.

They will, after all, do anything to gain access to their prey which is the problem we’ve always had with allowing men pretending to be women into women’s safe spaces.

Due to recent efforts to normalize this and similar antics, states like Florida passed laws to prohibit children from exposure to adult performances. A law that has forced a rules change at an upcoming “furry convention” in Orlando.

Many have raised concerns about recent changes in Florida legislation. After reviewing Florida SB 1438 it has been decided that for legal reasons and protection of our attendees, our venue, and the overall convention, Megaplex 2023 attendees must be 18 years of age at the time of registration pickup.

Megaplex has welcomed younger fandom members and their families since its inception and making this change was very difficult. The Code of Conduct has been updated to reflect this change and emails are going out to those affected.

While this change impacts the 2023 convention, it is unsure if this will have to continue for future years. It is our hope that this change is temporary and that we can welcome members of all ages back next year. With this in mind, the public decorum portion of the Code of Conduct as well as standards for programming, attire, and behavior in convention space will not be changing and will continue to be enforced as has been in the past.

The Florida Furries have to make do with the changes, which brings me back to the opening. The question is not why children would attend a furry convention with life-sized animal “friends.” It is why adult furries need access to children.

Remember, this is not just cosplay. Furries can have demands just like any other sexual splinter group. Lots of red flags, not the least of which is the corporate media running cover. That’s always suspicious. Oh, and the fact the convention has banned anyone under eighteen.

And there are other conventions in places that do not have the Protection of Children Act. There are any number of liberal-run destinations where the goal is the opposite. Putting children in psycho-sexual situations for which they are neither mentally nor physically prepared is a priority. Another red flag, but when they run the State’s so-called child protection agency, you can’t expect them to step up and intervene in cases of child risk for sexual abuse because some Dems made it legal or would like that – with or without the elaborate animal persona.

Minor-attracted persons are pedophiles. Predators dressing up as cute animals should be no less offensive than if they were dressed as Santa Clause, a Guidance Counselor, a garish caricature of a woman, or a Parish Priest.

And someone at Megaplex is concerned enough about the content to prohibit kids from attending.

Another red flag.

Can We No Longer Live In A Gray World

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 13:30 +0000

We have evolved to a place where everything is either Black or White. Our side is right, and their side is wrong. We want less government, and they want more. We believe in sovereignty, and they want to erase our borders. It may be as basic as we believe in God, and they no longer do. There is no gray any longer. It is me versus you. This thinking, this way of existing together, is not sustainable. This way of looking at each other as black or white only widens the valley between us, and it may already be too wide a chasm to bridge.

When did this happen to us? When did we lose our power, or even our will, to compromise, to find some middle ground? I think we had a common purpose and were more unified than we had been in some time after 9/11. We had been attacked, and regardless of party or belief, we looked out for one another and had a common purpose. We were against the terrorists who wanted us exterminated, and we stood together to ensure that would not happen. Unfortunately, that unity was short-lived, and patriotism became an ugly term quickly

I believe the movement towards the opposite corners started with Obama. Not that it had anything to do with race, but Barack Obama was the first President in my lifetime, and I dare say in our history, who did not love and honor the United States of America. Obama’s worldwide apology tour offended many of us who genuinely love this country and embrace our history. These negative feelings were especially true for anyone who served in World War II or had someone in their life who did. No other country in history has done more to protect freedom and democracy worldwide, without being imperialistic, than the United States, and we had nothing to apologize for to anyone or any country. But there was our President, the leader of the free world, bowing to foreign leaders. We never saw that in our lifetimes, and it did not sit well with us.

It was not just the “tour,” but the beginning of a movement in this country away from Capitalism and towards Socialism. Obama showed us with Obamacare that government control was superior to individual rights in his world. Obama was the Godfather of The Squad and the Progressive Wing of the Democrat Party. He spawned and promoted the anti-American belief and worked tirelessly to dispel the thought of us being the greatest country on Earth. He introduced the One World thinking to our youth and the America Second philosophy that we hear from Tlaib and Omar. It is poisonous, and it spreads like weeds. These people, even Obama, are the product of our corrupt and dangerous educational system. These are the first elected people who graduated from our system of indoctrination, not education, and proof that the system started by educators over one hundred years ago to fundamentally change America worked.

That is why there is such intense hatred of Donald Trump; he was a threat to the Progressive Movement. He saw it as dangerous and made progress in four short years to tear it down and renew our love of America. It also is why it was so important to elect Biden. Joe Biden is a feckless individual who the Obamas and Clintons can control. He is a puppet of the Progressives

I believe all these theories and can logically see how it all transpired. I can also see how impossible a task it will be to slow or reverse the trend. The momentum is strong, and the number of believers is too great to overcome. I fear it will take something as catastrophic as 9/11 to give us a reason to come together. Unfortunately, if history were to repeat itself, too many of us might think we deserve what we got and turn the other cheek.

Ben Franklin warned us that this system would work if we could hold onto it. We may be at the point of the rope breaking, but I hope we still have enough to hold onto the short end.

Psychologist Celebrated for Transing Autistic Kids

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 12:00 +0000

Dartmouth Health recognized Psychologist Alisa Hurwitz with an Ongoing Commitment Social Justice Award for her role in medically transitioning youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Hurwitz provides psychotherapeutic care related to pediatric and adolescent endocrinology in Dartmouth Health’s Trangender Health Program, with a focus on individuals on the autism spectrum. According to a Dartmouth Health article about the May 18 award ceremony, “she began to see many transgender, nonbinary, and gender-diverse patients and recognizes the need for therapists able to work with trans populations.”

Related: Trans or Die: The Ideological Blindness of a Dartmouth Health Endocrinologist

The high incidence of ASD among trans-identified youth would have come as no surprise to the authors of the 2011 and 2014 Dutch studies which serve as the foundation for the practice of moving children from puberty blockers to hormones.  Those researchers screened out children with depression, anxiety, and especially autism because they recognized that gender confusion is a stage that children usually outgrow.

The researchers noted that “It can be complicated to disentangle whether the gender dysphoria evolves from a general feeling of being just ‘different’ or whether a true ‘core’ cross-identity exists in adolescents who suffer from an autistic spectrum disorder.”

The high rates of trans-identified ASD children wouldn’t surprise health policy experts in England, either. They shut down Tavistock, the world’s largest youth gender clinic after learning that most of the children receiving irreversible medical treatment had mental health disorders and a third had moderate to severe autism even though it occurred at 2% in the general population.

In an  article in The Daily Mail, autism expert Dr. Sally Powis is quoted as saying that autistic teenagers who are searching for a reason why they don’t fit in could fixate on the idea they were born into the wrong body.

Powis said that teenage girls on the spectrum who bind their breasts might simply be trying to express the feeling that “I’m anxious about all this stuff happening to my body, and I don’t know how to handle it.”

Although England, Finland, Norway, and Sweden see the rate of children with ASD being medically transitioned as alarming evidence of dysfunction, Dartmouth Health celebrates it as a triumph of health equity. In a video that accompanied the award ceremony, Hurwitz proclaimed that “This isn’t just medical care, this isn’t just mental health care, this is serving a community that is marginalized and being actively attacked.”

Dartmouth Health’s practice of transitioning ASD youth raises the question as to whether they can understand the consequences and give informed consent to these irreversible medical treatments. It’s not even clear that Hurwitz herself understands the ramifications of gender medicine. Last year she asserted that puberty blockers are completely reversible and that opposite-sex hormones are mostly reversible.

But  Marci Bowers, president of the World Professional Organization for Transgender Health, said children who take puberty blockers at Tanner Stage 2 (ages 9-11) and move on to opposite-sex hormones will never experience sexual satisfaction as adults. Jeremi Carswell, head of Boston Children’s Hospital’s gender clinic, said that children who start on puberty blockers at age 12 or 13 will be sterile. Puberty blockers also cause low bone density, which can lead to osteoporosis.

John Turco, MD, who heads Dartmouth Health’s Transgender Health program, said Dartmouth Health gives puberty blockers to children as young as 10.  Turco received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the ceremony.

The Future of Cars in New Hampshire: What You Need to Know

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 10:44 +0000

If you were born and raised in New Hampshire, you might have seen decades of cars pass through the state, and you might be aware of the trends that have always been evident in the state. Then, if you want to know more about the future of cars in New Hampshire and how you can keep up with this, read on.

What will the Best Cars for New Hampshire be?

When you are buying a car in New Hampshire, you may be worried about whether the car that you invest in will suit your life in New Hampshire. Many car owners are concerned about the climate in New Hampshire and how this relates to their vehicles. The weather in New Hampshire in winter is harsh, with lots of snow and storms making their way into the state. Rather than investing in a car that cannot withstand these elements, you should look around for cars that are safe and sturdy even in the face of bitter weather. These models include the Chevrolet Tahoe and the Subaru Forester.

There are also many new and used car trends that are changing all the time in New Hampshire, and it is important that you stay aware of these to make sure that you are able to invest in a car that can stay on-trend for many years to come. For instance, Nissan Rogues are extremely popular and are likely to remain popular as they are reliable over long distances. If you live in New Hampshire, it is important that you do not invest in simply the first car that you come across.

What Tech Can Make Driving in New Hampshire Easier?

Driving in New Hampshire is not always easy due to its climate and terrain. However, there is a lot of recently developed technology and still developing technology that can help you with this. For instance, automatic braking systems can ensure that you always stop in time and that you can stay safe while you are in your vehicle. In contrast, electric vehicles are now becoming popular because they are better for the environment and because you do not have to find a gas station to keep them charged. You might also consider investing in cars with in-built GPS and parking technology, as this will help you to navigate the roads and your routes better. At the same time, augmented reality (AR) windshields can ensure that all the information that you need can be easily displayed.

How to Propel Yourself into the Future?

If you want to invest in a car that will set you up for the future and that will contain all the tech that you want, you should consider selling the car that you have. It is possible to get a quote for your car and sell it quickly online. For instance, you might find a company through which you can sell my Ferrari 458.

This will allow you to get the money that you need to invest in a new luxury model which you can have for many years to come and that contains all of the latest advances and technologies. This will make driving in New Hampshire a lot simpler for you.

You should not hesitate to look for cars that might be the future popular models in New Hampshire and beyond, and that will allow you to drive in New Hampshire without any issues. You are then likely to have a better experience when driving in New Hampshire.

The World Health Organization Is the Enemy of Healthcare

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 10:30 +0000

“Healthcare” has become the perfect guise for the Deep State’s desire to control the people. Senator Kennedy introduced his plan for socialized medicine in the 1960s. Since then, government concern for all things relating to our health has been made law.

We want to thank Russ Payne for this Contribution – Please direct yours to Editor@GraniteGrok.com.
You can review our ‘Op-Ed Guidelines‘ on the FAQ Page.

Today, the WHO advances its quest to give us the ultimate prescription to root out liberty: The WHO’s Pandemic Treaty.

Do you trust unelected, unaccountable UN/WHO bureaucrats with your healthcare decisions? If this treaty is not stopped, the authors of the “Covid lockdown” will act to control us again with predetermined responses and mandatory preparedness by “edict” that will become legally binding. Not only will this treaty amend the International Health Regulations (IHR), it will legalize, subject to their discretion, the repeat of COVID medical tyranny with: “vaccine passports, expansion of mandatory quarantine power, and even the recommendation of “travel checks.”

This is not Americanism. This is climbing up the Marxist ladder just as Chancellor Hitler assumed illegal power through edicts.

The constitution requires two-thirds of the Senate to ratify treaties. President Biden is attempting to impose this treaty on the American people without ratification. The president is living up to Art Thompson’s description of his life: He’s a Water Boy for The New World Order. Check out Thompson’s book Benedict Biden at JBS.ORG.

How can this be stopped? This is first a priority for state governments to serve us, not their party leaders. Nullification of federal government power is their job. The power lies in the hands of the people. All concerned citizens should assert their authority by demanding state legislators, the governor, and the federal Congress to solve this overreach before their inaction gives us the ultimate tyrannical headache. Demand that they implement “state Nullification.”

Demand they watch the following lecture:

Article VI of the U.S. Constitution is key: “This Constitution, and the Laws of the United States which shall be made in Pursuance thereof … shall be the supreme Law of the Land.” There is only one true interpretation of this language, it is unambiguous because it states that only laws that align with the Constitution are the supreme law of the United States and cannot be valid. The Failure to act in a concerted effort from all patriots will bring globalist control over every area of your life.

No Place Is Safe From Evil

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 01:30 +0000

We are used to recapping the shooting numbers in Chicago on Monday for the weekend. Sadly, it is tantamount to checking the weekend box scores. This Memorial Day weekend was no different in Chicago, as eleven were killed and 53 were shot, including two two-year-old children.

Former Mayor Lightfoot was the recipient of much of the blame, and deservedly so, for the last few years. There was hope in the recent election that Chicago was ready to move in a different direction when Lightfoot finished third and out of office. Unfortunately, Chicago did not change paths but instead went deeper into the rabbit hole. The voters chose a more Progressive candidate in Brandon Johnson, who is backed by and benefited from a sizable donation by the teacher’s union. Johnson will continue the passive approach to fighting crime, and many said this weekend would be Johnson’s first big test. Johnson failed miserably.

This weekend, Chicago was not the only hot spot; that is sad news for all Americans. In Hollywood, Florida, families scattered for safety on Monday as a fun-filled day at the beach turned into a nightmare when gunshots filled the air. Witnesses claimed the shooting started when an altercation between two groups of teens escalated to gunfire. When the shooting stopped, nine people, including four young children, had been injured by errant gunfire. This shooting occurred in an area that is not known for violence, which unfortunately drives home the fact that these stupid acts of violence can happen anywhere.

In San Clemente, California, two Marines were hit by debris from fireworks. When they asked the people shooting the fireworks to cease, over forty teens turned on the Marines, and a melee began. The Marines were grossly outnumbered and beaten severely. The Marines did not require hospitalization, and no arrests were made.

Gavin Newsom chose not to address this attack in his state but did go after Governor Ron DeSantis for the attack in Florida. No guns were involved in San Clemente, and Newsom saw a chance for more publicity attacking DeSantis and the gun-related attack in Hollywood. It was an ill-advised statement filled with misinformation regarding his reference to legislation that had yet to go into effect.

According to NBC News: Shootings across the U.S. left at least 16 people dead and dozens more injured over Memorial Day weekend.
The gun violence occurred at beaches, high schools, and motorcycle rallies, among other locations, across at least eight states. Those killed were teenagers to people in their 60s.

The variety of locations and states is disheartening. Until Police are restaffed after the Democrat-driven Defund the Police movement decimated the number of active Police, and we unseat liberal D.A.s, we do not have a chance of slowing this trend of violence. Democrats scream for new gun laws with each shooting, but they know new laws will have no impact. The perpetrators in these incidents have no regard for rules or laws, and these claims are simply an effort for more control of law-abiding citizens.

It is difficult not to change our habits and restrict where we go out of fear. To do so is to relent our freedoms to those without respect for us. That should not be an option in a free society.

The Big Lie of DEI

Granite Grok - Thu, 2023-06-01 00:00 +0000

Democrats and the left are a fickle lot. It’s clear they’re determined to keep the country divided using the politics of victimization, but they can’t seem to decide where next to plant their seeds of discontent.

It was only a few years ago that the Me Too movement was in full swing. Democrats seized on a few high-profile cases of abused women, and the movement began. It quickly became a veritable war between the sexes, and at its height, Democrats were demanding that we “believe all women.” Today, they can’t even define what a woman is.

Then, in a series of unfortunate incidents, several young men died during confrontations with police. Their deaths would have gone virtually unnoticed if the parties involved were of the same race. But in those particular cases, the police were white and the men who died were black. Black Lives Matter was created, widespread rioting ensued, and Democrats saw another opportunity. They encouraged the riots, calling them peaceful protests, while issuing demands to “defund the police.” Today, they’re trying to claim that it’s Republicans who are anti-police.

Now they’ve found a new victim group, a new crusade, and a new battle cry. DEI – diversity, equity, and inclusion. Ostensibly, it’s supposed to protect all alleged victims of society, including the LGBQT community, from discrimination.

Their demands for diversity aren’t new. They’re a throwback to the controversial affirmative action initiatives which already diversified our country years ago. They also evoke one of those many vacuous liberal axioms: “Our strength is in our diversity.”

That sentiment may sound noble, even inspirational. But no one has ever really explained exactly how diversity strengthens anything. It’s true that fresh ideas coming from diverse minds often spark creativity and solutions to thorny problems. But that’s not what liberals are talking about. In fact, they adamantly reject the notion of diverse ideas. They’re talking about a regimented assortment of skin color, nationality, gender, sexual preference, and now, gender identity.

The fact is, most Americans openly accept diversity in the workforce, in schools, and in government. But when diversity becomes the primary objective, failure is inevitable. How can any organization realize its full potential when bureaucratic bean counters and liberal activists tell them who to appoint, hire, and promote?

Joe Biden is one man consumed by DEI ideology. His administration is filled with history-making appointees who have proven themselves to be utterly incompetent – or worse.

Take, for example, Sam Brinton, a flamboyant bisexual and trans activist who was somehow appointed to a covetous high-level position in Biden’s Department of Energy. That appointment prompted one DOE employee to submit a written complaint to the inspector general’s office. It questioned Brinton’s qualifications for the position and alleged that the appointment came via “undue political influence.” But it was Brinton’s penchant for women’s clothing, not the complaint, that brought him down. Facing three separate charges of luggage theft, the DOE had no option but to terminate him. Brinton’s brief experience with the DOE can only be attributed to another experiment in diversity.

And Deb Haaland became the very first Native American to serve in a cabinet position when Biden appointed her Secretary of the Interior. She had absolutely no qualifying experience, and her recent congressional testimony exposed her utter lack of knowledge and suitability for the job.

Biden told us where he stood on the issue from the very beginning. By vowing to choose a black female as his running mate, he admitted that, to him, diversity was more important than merit.

It should be obvious that the best way for any organization to flourish is simply by hiring, promoting, and retaining the best of the best.

The second part of DEI is equity. It sounds reasonable. After all, the concept of equal opportunity for everyone is one of the hallmarks of the American Dream. Ah, but they’re not talking about equal opportunity, the idea that, with hard work, all American citizens have the same opportunity to succeed.

No, to them, equity means equal outcomes. That’s the socialist/communist principle that takes from those who produce and gives to those who don’t. DEI is intended to ensure that those who work hard wind up in exactly the same place as those who don’t. Kamala Harris expressed her vision of America in those exact words: “Equitable treatment means we all end up at the same place.”

What about inclusion? That sounds like it should be an American value, a basic right. It means that all those individuals who got to where they are through diversity programs also have a right to feel welcomed and included. The problem is, under DEI, the Left gets to choose which individuals to include. They’ve decided that men should be included in women’s sports events, and that drag queens should be included in children’s educational curriculum. But they’re absolutely determined to exclude conservative speakers from college campuses.

Sad to say, the DEI agenda seems to be catching on, especially with our young people. It may appear, on the surface, to represent American values. But DEI is a lie, intended to perpetuate racism, promote socialism/communism, normalize abnormal behavior, and keep our country divided.

Hey Jane Fonda: What if the Problem Isn’t White Men – It’s a White Woman?

Granite Grok - Wed, 2023-05-31 22:30 +0000

Jane Fonda is a Liberals Liberal. Far left would be a far cry from how far she is in that direction. She’s also a high priestess of the church of Mann-Made global warming, but she stopped binging on Goreos long enough to bless us with this wisdom.

“This is serious – we’ve got about seven, eight years to cut ourselves in half of what we use of fossil fuels, and unfortunately, the people that have the least responsibility for it are hit the hardest – Global South, people on islands, poor people of color,” the Barbarella star explained, insisting, “It’s a tragedy that we have to absolutely stop.” …

[And]

“There would be no climate crisis if there was no racism. There would be no climate crisis if there was no patriarchy. White men are the things that matter and then everything else [is] at the bottom.”

“If we solve the climate crisis, and we haven’t solved all those other things, we’re gonna be in trouble,”

Jane Fonda is … confused, but I get the sense she believes what she is saying. This is also the woman who, without a drop of irony, claimed that women would murder to protect abortion rights. No kidding, millions of times over decades.

As for the climate, if Jane believes we have seven or eight years left, she’s the fossil we need to lose. The current doomsday climate apocalypse calendar timebomb is not the first, nor will it be the last. It is a goalpost built to be moved. So, she is confused and gullible.

Next up, brown people. The climate cult icons who told you about the doomsday calendar are destroying the environments of people of color in Africa and Asia in pursuit of the so-called solution to the made-up problem of cataclysmic climate catastrophe. You seem to understand that and object to it. However, much like the same-skinned ancestors who sold their own into slavery (and some still do), the so-called rulers of these people of color are getting rich while the local environment is destroyed, and their citizens remain trapped in the second and third-world.

We can add a side-order of “there is no escape from this for them if we follow the climate cult’s new age energy agenda.”

In other words, the racists are not JUST the Captains of the Green Industry. China is top-heavy, with people of color wrecking the planet in the name of green, as are India and Africa. Most of the pollution, emissions, and plastic in the ocean (what of it there is) originate outside the Western world. From places where they profit from the rare-earth metals mining necessary to advance the green nightmare. Few, if any, of them are white, but many of them are rich and dirty.

Finally, what happens if these “men” declare themselves to be women? Gender is fluid (like doomsday climate apocalypse calendars) and shalt not be predicted. Anyone suspected of climate crimes, as determined by the Jane Fonda’s of the world, need only announce that they are a woman, and arresting them would be a crime: social justice and all that.

Climate Justice has a new problem that we can add to the old problem. Jane Fonda’s multiple homes and extra-large carbon-footprint lifestyle. A New Mexico Ranch. Mansion in LA. A loft in Atlanta. Flying around in private jets to get arrested at climate events.

Maybe you should stay in jail for the good of the planet?

Legislative Ethics Committee: Oral Testimony by NH State Rep Harry Bean

Granite Grok - Wed, 2023-05-31 21:00 +0000

So, as regular readers know, I covered a lot of the “Gunstock Incident,” in which the Democrat founded, funded, and led the political action committee, Citizens for Belknap, tore asunder the Conservative Belknap County Delegation. Sadly, there were a number of Republicans that merrily joined in with that effort for a political purpose.

Sure, they disavowed, by word, that they were a part of that PAC, but they surely carried out the mission. Even after the Incident came to a conclusion, the CfB and its Republican allies (mostly RINOs, and I have the stats to back that up, including Mike “Hate Parental Rights” Bordes along with Travis O’Hara).

Harry Bean is certainly one of them, IMHO. He deliberately broke many of the friendships he once had as he “shifted” his political alliances for mere political gain (and complained when they would no longer talk with him – a self-made victim).  Then he decided to break our friendship in the Belknap County Superior Courthouse parking lot – the last in his string.

Fine, such as it is but in doing so, he became just another politician to me, as decisions have consequences. And he’s made a few whoppers with respect to those decisions, thus my filing of an Ethics complaint against him, with additional posts on the complaints here, as well as my oral testimony before the NH Legislative Ethics Committee hearing last Friday (my written testimony is here).

Harry Bean was called to speak next:

If you don’t have the time to listen to it (21 minutes), let me summarize this self-victimization by the Chair of the Belknap County Delegation:

  • Right off the bat, he admits that he broke the Law as he laughed it off. Like I said in my testimony, isn’t deliberately breaking the Law unethical by definition? Even in his off-handed way, it was an admission of guilt. What will / what did the Committee think of that?
  • My new name is “him”  (no big surprise).
  • He perverts the meaning of his oath, which does NOT state that he represents the people. Here is that oath again:

“I, Harry Bean, do solemnly and sincerely swear and affirm that I will faithfully and impartially discharge and perform all duties incumbent on me as STATE REPRESENTATIVE according to the best of my abilities, agreeably to the rules and regulations of this constitution and the laws of the state o New Hampshire. So help me, God.

It means that what he does is proscribed in Law. But, knowing Harry, I don’t think he give it much thought.

  • Takes solace (and “blame deflection”) in that he’s a high school dropout and tries to use that as a chit.
  • Then he referenced the Belknap County Attorney Andrew Livernois in trying to blame him for his “calling the Gunstock meeting” troubles. I submitted the email thread I had with Livernois concerning “that advice” to the Ethics Committee – it can mostly be seen here. where it was clear he deliberately left out the most important pieces of RSA 91-A and 24:9-d.  I had also told Harry about those missing pieces and repeated that during my testimony.
  • Paraphrase: “I had to get something DONE” (re-opening Gunstock)
  • A conflict of interest? From his testimony, now know that Bean’s personal attorney, Paul Fitzgerald, is also the attorney for the County when earlier, he refused to tell us.
  • He admits to having “serial communications” with other Delegation members, thereby breaking RSA 91-A AGAIN; see 91-A:2-a Communications Outside Meetings:

I. Unless exempted from the definition of “meeting” under RSA 91-A:2, I, public bodies shall deliberate on matters over which they have supervision, control, jurisdiction, or advisory power only in meetings held pursuant to and in compliance with the provisions of RSA 91-A:2, II or III.
II. Communications outside a meeting, including, but not limited to, sequential communications among members of a public body, shall not be used to circumvent the spirit and purpose of this chapter as expressed in RSA 91-A:1.

But then, again, Harry admits he doesn’t read the Law that governs his behavior (and apparently, doesn’t listen, either). It is also clear that Harry looked at hearing from constituents not agreeing with him as “intimidation.”

  • NH State Rep (and former NH State Supreme Court Justice) Bob Lynn asks Harry about the advice.  Did Lynn actually read the Law concerning Meetings?
  • “Not my job” with respect to making sure that the Budget Subcommittee meetings were properly noticed.
  • Dumped on Deb Schakett for not doing it.
  • Dumped on Travis O’Hara for not seeing that those meetings weren’t properly noticed, and he dumped on her as well, even as the Law requires him to:

24:9-d Notice. – The clerk of the convention, or his or her designee, shall mail to each member of the convention a notice stating the time, place and purpose of further meetings at least 7 days before the day of the meeting and shall cause to be published a like notice at least 7 days before the day of the meeting in a newspaper of general circulation in the county. Mailing such notice is not required during any session of the general court, if the notice is printed for 2 legislative days in the journal of the House of Representatives.

Not the County Administrator. The Clerk of the Delegation.  More on this later.

  • Again, the “cabal” didn’t advise him in advance of the failed meeting notices (“I didn’t know” defense).
  • Back to Gunstock’s illegal meeting – the end (300 people showed up) justifies breaking the law (political expediency). I enjoyed the revisionist history in that Harry didn’t correct the Ethics Committee when asked that he was NOT legally able to call the special (Aug 1) meeting and then happily stated that he had expected that the Delegation Chair Mike Sylvia was going to run the special meeting. Again, only Sylvia had the statute authority to call an emergency meeting not Harry. Mike Sylvia correctly saw that this was a manmade political event not rising to the level of an “emergency” and didn’t call it.
Why would Harry then tell the Committee that he was surprised when Sylvia declined to go to a meeting that Sylvia didn’t call but that Harry did contra RSA 24:9-d’s plain words that it had to be a seven day notice? You know, if Harry had bothered to read the actual Law and not done a mashup of the two, I would have never filed the complaint containing the Gunstock Incident part. Simple as that.

Let me end with two things:

  • Harry believes that I am part of some cabal that is just out to get him. He’s wrong – all I care about is that our elected representatives Follow The Law regardless if it is Friend or Foe. Screw up, and I’ll do something.
  • He starts a common theme in his testimony that was followed by the Delegation Clerk, Travis O’Hara, and the person I can’t name due to Confidentiality strictures: I’m not responsible because I know nothing so I can’t be held accountable.

Years ago, when I started my third term on the Gilford Budget Committee, he was on it. He introduced himself as a [redneck] hillbilly. I objected to that a number of times that it was wrong, and I didn’t believe it. Do you know something years later? I was the one that was wrong about him being a hillbilly. He was right, after all.

Sun-King Sununu Tells CNN He Wants J6 Protesters To Rot In Prison

Granite Grok - Wed, 2023-05-31 19:30 +0000

Sun-King Sunnu, as you may recall, was a big fan of BLM … DURING … the BLM/Antifa riots of 2020. Not surprisingly, Sun-King holds the same position as the LEFT on the disparate treatment of J6 protesters and BLM/Antifa rioters.

The former should rot in jail for decades, while the latter should get … at the most … a slap on the wrist. Sun-King Sununu stands out as garbage among garbage.
